-OOC-

I'm feeling evil... So I think I'll destroy my entire region. It's just full of my puppets anyway. ^_^

I'm kinda mentally fried right now, so don't expect good, or very coherent, posts. (At least not by my standards...)

-The Citadel of Omega Region-

Everything was quiet. As quiet as it ever was, with the various nations under Mekanta's rule constantly bickering amongst themselves.

Only Mekanta and Neo-Mekanta were strangely absent from the flurry of messages being sent around. Aside from that, everything seemed normal...

Until everything grew silent. The Mekantan communications network the Mekantan states used amonst themselves suddenly de-activated, moments before the massive mountain Mekanta and Neo-Mekanta had their population in exploded. A column of light filled the sky, debris from the mountain's destruction raining down on the islands below.

Shocked, Mekantan officials outside the mountain quickly re-established a Network Hub, trying to contact their comrades around the Omega Islands.

Eventually, they were able to coordinate enough to send a brief message to the outside world.

The Empire of Mekanta has been destroyed. The Core Mountain, in which Mekanta had most of its people, is no more. The last information we recieved from inside Mekanta was that research was beginning on ancient artifacts found deep inside the mountain.

Estimated casualties outside Mekanta itself number at twelve million and rising. That is not counting the loss of life from Mekanta and Neo-Mekanta. Given that the waters in the region have become very dangerous, and many islands are currently facing destruction, it is likely more destruction will take place.

We have lost contact with all forces outside Mekanta itself. Information will be given as it becomes available.

Blast.

My various forces in the area remained a few miles from the islands, so they should be fine for now. I'm moving them further away now....

I could offer aid, but I'd rather not have suicidal helicopters crash into my hospital ships. 8/

OOC: Didn't you say the mountain was 25 or 50 Km high? That could be a bit... dangerous....http://www.sc3000.com/forums/images/face5.GIF

Is this during the Omegan War, or now(my timeline has moved on a few months since then, with the development of recovered Mekantan Technologies)
If now, then Vexia conveys its deepest sympathies, and asks if it can send an emergency aid team and several divisons of scientists to find out what happened, and how to control that sort of destructive power.(you can imagine their commanders drooling at such a prospect)

OOC- Yeah, is this supposed to tie itself into the other "war" thread? We could easily do so if you want to, just let me know either here or via TG's.

(OOC: Sorry it took a while for me to respond. No, this is after the war. I don't want to wreck the coalition navy just because the mountain blew up. And yeah, it was big. Was big.)

-Official Message from the Mekantan Government in Exile

"We thank you for your support. More information has been found."

"Inside the mountain, Mekantan and Neo-Mekantan scientists were experimenting with advanced technology, including psionics and trans-spacial physics. Just before the explosion, we noted a brief moment when all of the power in the area broke off for a split second. It is possible an experimental weapon may be to blame."

"We have found that the Minagoroshi class Orbital Weapons Platforms have simply vanished. We do not know why, or how."

*Minister Morgan Kell peers over inteligence reports as he drinks his morning coffee. Upon recognizing a familiar name, Morgan scans the reports on a Mekantan War* Oh my! Archon Marik should be interested in this.

*Dialing up the Archon's Office, Kell explains the incident to the Archon*

Archon: Mekanta? No way! Could it be possible that our old friend is having civil strife?

Kell: Appears so, sir. And that may be an understatement. How shall Galmorra proceed sir?

Archon: Well, of course! We shall send the Army in to support our old friend.

Kell: But sir, the situation doesn't seem stable.

Archon: Ah...yes. I guess you're right Morgan. I'll send a message to Mekanta.

Kell: Good idea, sir.

*Archon Victor Marik quickly types up a missive and sends it to Mekanta*

Good Mekanta,

We hear that you are having troubles with order in your state. Shall we aid you? If it is an affirmative, we have a sizeable force ready to aid you.

--Archon Victor Marik

OoC: hey Mekanta, why throw away all your puppets? why not RP people aiding in occupations?

*ABOVE THE RUINS OF MEKANTA, ABOARD A VEXIAN AIRWAYS LEARJET*
Commander Kirov whistled.
"Looks like God stepped on an anthill." joked Kirov, whose reputation as a mechanophobe(not to be confused with technophobia) was legendary. It was something of a joke on Valdez's part that Kirov of all his commanders should be chosen to command the Mekanta Delegation.
"Sir, here's the report on the casualties you asked for sir." said a young officer, handing kirov a clipboard with statistics on it.
"Well over 12 Million dead, and thousands more suspected to die from injuries." summed up the officer.
"How long before we land on the nearest airstrip?"
"There are none, sir. Even before the Disaster the Mekantans were notoriously against visitors."
"Well, how long till we can find a bare stretch of earth to land on?"
"About 15 minutes sir."
Kirov sighed, and sat back in his comfy chair.
He had had strict orders to achieve their goals, nothing else. If he started a war, fine, as long as the objectives were achieved. If they weren't, then Kirov would soon find the hard feel of a brick wall against his back and a lead missile in his skull.
