Naori had not touched Genya in years; all was quite in Kit Ph'at's
quasi-socialist authoriarian democracy. Kit Ph'at was old now, nearly eighty years of age. A defective heart valve of his would limit his life to the next year or two at most; the plastic holding it in place would not keep him alive indefinately.

But before he died, he was determined to remove the foreign imperialsts from Northern Naori. Eredronian were just like the British he had fought against in the Revolutionary War. The Naorians were not to blame for the imperial;ism of it's old government. Indeed, the people of the South Naori were happy under the Socialist Occupation. They had elected their own communist reformer leaders. But now, the North was Kit Ph'at's goal.

Missiles, given to Genya by the Galdanians, flew over the water, east to Northern naori. There were forty of them, large missiles (sorry Galkdanian I forgot what they were called), and all were aimed at the Eredronian 'capital' in their so-called 'province' of Naori.

From the South, over one hundred Galdanian tanks (forgot their name too) pushed north across the DMZ, under Genyan command. Genyan artillery sounded out, firing shell after shell into the North. Infantry moved forward in APC's, disembarking as soon as they found ground worth holding. Galdanian soldiers were soon to follow, (no doubt).

"Sir, we've received reports of military action at the demilitarized zone."

General Hansen sat up in his bed, squinting across the room at the young lieutenant standing in the doorway. He threw off the covers, waiting for his mind to fully wake up. He stood, and took the offered robe. Tying the sash around his waist, he followed the lieutenant into the hallway.

"What do we know?"

"Radar picked up a missile launch, heading towards the capital. Air defenses brought most of them down; we're still waiting for a damage report from the governor. The missiles appeared to be of Galdanian-make." The lieutenant led the general out of his house, across the lush terrace towards the military HQ.

"Roughly an hour after that, we received reports of Galdanian armored columns moving through the DMZ, with artillery and infantry support."

"Is the line holding?" General Hansen had walked into the communications room, oblivious to the blue robe he was wearing.

"For now. Aerial reconnaissance spotted the tanks early enough to give the 3rd Army time to mobilize."

"Bring all units to red. Launch an immediate aerial counter-offensive to halt their advance; find out where they are hitting us, and send in reinforcements. What's the ratio?"

"Right now, their tanks outnumber 3rd Army two to one. No estimate on enemy troop strength; we stand at 40,000 men along the DMZ."

"Bring our missile silos up." Hansen turned to the communications officer on duty. "Send a FLASH message to Eredro, informing them of our situation."

F-22E Raptors had launched immediately from airfields across North Naori, streaking through the skies towards the advancing Genyan columns. Eredronian ground forces along the DMZ were holding position after having lost several miles of ground. The F-22Es fired off dozens of Air-to-Surface missiles at the Genyan columns, as Eredronian armored divisions and infantry were being mobilized to come south and meet the invasion.

"Good afternoon. I'm John Parker, and this is ENIN. As we enter into the second day of the invasion of North Naori, we bring you this update. Less than two hours ago, ENIN received reports that a naval force had been dispatched to support the Naori counter-offensive. Although the government has not yet confirmed this, sources within the Administration allege that Galdania is responsible for breaking treaty, violating the Demilitarized Zone and invading the Principality of North Naori."

The anchorman shuffled the stack of papers he held. "We now go live to our reporter in Naori, Peter Haven. Peter?"

"John, I'm in the city of Hirshitzi, and there is a lot of activity going on, as you can see behind me. Those tanks on the highway are moving south, and those men there are part of Naori's own army, about sixty thousand strong. I tell you, there has been a lot of military activity, especially overhead. There's been about two fighter jets overhead every couple of minutes, and I've been told our air campaign is going extremely well.

"What's the general atmosphere like down there? How are the people handling this?"

"Well, as you can guess, there's a lot of anxiety; most people still remember the Shining War. The provincial governor made assurances that this would be over soon, but that hasn't stopped a lot of people from heading north."

"Thanks, Peter. After this commercial break, Anne Smith has the latest on the stock market rebound."

"The Empire will not condone the unexplained agression against Eredron. The Empire shall commit its attack forces to crush (OOC: annex) the invaders."

The Grand Imperial Offensive Fleet, consisting of all vessels not used to defend the Empire's home waters, has put out to sea and begun the journey to Eredron, where they will assist the Eredronian people in defeeating the people of Genya. The most brilliant admiral ever to come out of the modern Naval Academy (in FW, of course) has been put in charge of the operation. The massive amount of vessels to haul the Grand Imperial Offensive Army is being ammased, and the huge amount of men are getting ready to come to Eredron.

B-2 bombers, 60 of them, have taken off to begin bombing important industrial targets in Ganya. 200 of the new B-747 have been sent to target Ganyan troops assaulting Eredron. Fleet will arive at 6:00 US Central time. By that time, the armada of transports will set sail. They will arive at 7:00 US Central time.

OOC: Just to clarify, Naori is an island about 2,000 miles from the Eredron mainland. North Naori is a Principality of Eredron, South Naori is ruled by Galdania, with Genya (and I'm assuming other allies) with military forces based in the south.

I am holding off on any further posts beyond this one, to wait for a Genyan response.

Eredron, (thank you for telegramming me about this [Genya neglected to do so]). But I didn't know Eredron was so close to naori...I thought it was like the distance from the U.S. to Japan...just what I thought.

The Volunteer Naorian Militia, 30,000 men strong, was left to the cities in the South. 70,000 men on the Communist side of the DMZ prepared to advance in the Galdanian part of Operation WHITE LIGHT, into which they had been unwittingly thrust.

Eighteen additional ships have been dispatched to Naori from Galdania.

Defence on supply routes has been doubled in case of enemy attack.

"Genya, Sir," Taylor replied, "They have used Galdania-supplied weapons to invade Northern Naori."

"Genya... sounds familiar, wasn't it a nation we should have crushed long ago?"

"Yes Sir, we had the chance long ago, but decided it was best to leave it be."

"Boy were we wrong there. Never mind that now, what can we do now?"

"The nation of Eredron is the owner of Northern Naori, with the southern portion owned by Galdania. We could contact the Eredronians(sp?) and ask if they need any assistance in defending their territory."

The sovereign territory of Eredron has been invaded by the hostile forces of the dictatorial regime of Genya, who has violated the treaty stipulations of the demilitarized zone and engaged in open war against Eredron and the legitimate government of Her Principality, Naori.

You profess a desire to end this conflict, carried out using your weaponry and technology, from bases located in your territories, and now aided by Galdanian military forces. Make no mistake; I am not weak and indecisive as my predecessor was.[There's a new Consul in Eredron since our last meeting, and he is decidedly more hawkish]. This aggression upon Eredron's Sovereign Territory will cease within twenty-four hours.

Twelve of the sleek bombers were on the tarmac being fueled and supplies, their pilots briefed. The twelve were Tu-170E Implacable Strategic Bombers, part of the SBF. Each of these bombers had a range of over nine thousand miles, and could carry nearly forty thousand pounds in disposable stores. In less than an hour, they could launch and begin their journey towards South Naori. Whether or not they launched depended on whether Galdania and Genya continued their aggression. If they did, over 480,000 pounds of stores would be dropped over South Naori as part of the newly approved military policy of an immediate and overwhelming response to crush and demoralize the enemy populations' willingness to wage war. Hawkins was determined not to repeat the last war over Naori. He would not have the blood of millions on his hands.

Genyans tanks all began a fighting retreat, firing at the enemy with Galdanian incendary (sp?) shells from the tank cannons.

"Sir, 3rd Army reports a large-scale enemy retreat."

General Hansen looked up quickly from the message in his hand from the Bastion Carrier Group.

The lieutenant handed him a crisp slip of paper.

Genyan armored advance halted and retreating. 3rd Army holding twenty miles N of DMZ. 19th Armor Corp advancing on Genyan position ten miles E.

"Has this been confirmed?"

"Yes, sir."

General Hansen handed the slip to his aide. "Relay this to MILCOM. Nothing lets up until they're back on their side of the zone. Order 3rd Army and the 19th to push them back, and keep at it. What's the status of the rest of my boys?"

The lieutenant motioned to the map spread out on the table; blue and red markers designated various Eredronian and enemy locations. "There are twenty tanks and roughly six thousand men - mostly Naori - here, near the western coast about fifteen miles from the DMZ; their other half is about fifty miles east, here. Most of our men and armor are concentrated around the 3rd Army's position."

"Order those groups to meet up and hold position. Let 3rd Army be the spearhead."

One hour later..
Nearly seventy M-1A2E Abrams were battle ready, and moved out as soon as the order was given. Moving south and followed by nearly fifteen thousand infantry, the armored column kept up its attack on the retreating Genyan units. The tanks split into three groups; two circled around in a pincer to try and cut off a part of the retreating troops, while the largest of them continued straight south.

A squadron of F-22E Raptors was enroute from an airfield, less than forty minutes away, to hit the retreating tanks and artillery.

Meanwhile, nearly fifty more F-22Es were readying for launch from the carrier Bastion, should the need arise.

Your unprovoked act of aggression against the Eredronian Principality of North Naori - an act of open war - has resulted in the death of over three thousand Eredronian servicemen. Eredron is within its rights to carry out a full military response. However, the Republic, wishing to end bloodshed, will negotiate to end this immediately.

Genya would do well to end its baseless accusations; Eredron has had no involvement in the death of Kit Ph'at, fortunate though it was.

In order to end the hostilities initiated without provocation by Genya, the following terms must be met.

The dictatorial regime of Genya must surrender, unconditionally, to the Republic of Eredron, all those in the government and military leadership responsible for ordering and carrying out this attack.

The Government of Genya shall, after acknowledging and accepting Eredron's legitimate Sovereignty in North Naori, issue a full apology for this aggression, accepting absolute responsibility and signing a pact of nonaggression with the Republic of Eredron.

In return for Eredron allowing Genya proper to retain it's rights of self-government, all Genyan territorial holdings shall be ceded to the Republic, or whomever Eredron sees fit to govern.

These terms are non-negotiable. Eredron forces will await confirmation of Genyan acceptance; should Genya refuse these stipulations, the consequences will be dealt out.

Galdania will not allow Eredron to use Kit Ph'at's insanity as a pretext for Imperialism. The Genyan invasion was not justifiable, but neither would any Eredronian occupation. We will fight tooth and nail against Eredronian imperialism.

GALDANIA ADVISES ALL NAORIANS CURRENTLY NORTH OF THE DEMILITARIZED ZONE TO EVACUATE BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE> IF POSSIBLE, COME IN LARGE GROUPS ACCROSS THE BORDER. IGNORE ANY MILITARY CONFLICT. SAFETY IS ASSURED UNDER GALDANIAN JURISDICTION.

Within Genya, all Galdanian military personelle have been ordered to seize and occupy all major Genyan cities and military centres. Lethal force is authorized only as a last resort, or if Galdanian soldiers are fired upon.

Until the threat of Eredronian invasion is over, Galdania will assume full adminstrative control of Genya.

Almost all of the Crocodile missiles launched from outside of the Naori island were brought down by the missile defense system in Eredron and her Principalities. The air defenses in North Naori, however, did not have time to respond to those launched just across the DMZ.

Eight Crocodile missiles fell upon the provincial capital and three other cities, another striking a military encampment. Raining down on civilian and government districts, the attacks would kill over three thousand and wound another two.

Eredron will not tolerate Galdanian interference, nor Galdanian hypocrisy. This war has been thrust upon Eredron unjustly, and Eredron is within its rights to defend itself from aggression, both present and future. By perpetuating the conflict, Galdania has shown its support of Genya's illegitimate attempt to usurp control of North Naori for itself, as well as violated the peace Eredron had establishd.

Two hours later
In response to the missile attack, fifteen Tu-170E Implacable Bombers launched from Eredron. In three groups, and traveling at over 1300 mph at an altitude of over 54,000 feet, the bombers soon were flying over Genya, South Naori, and Galdania.

Each bomber fired off a pair of 12 RK-55 cruise missiles roughly 100 kilometers from their targets - mostly military - before each bomber dropped nearly 20,000 pounds of free-fall heavy explosive bombs.

Roughly a hundred miles off the coast of South Naori, the Eredronian Carrier Battle Groups Bastion and Intrepid waited for authorization.

"Bastion, this is Home One."

On the bridge of the carrier Bastion, Admiral McDonald brought the mike up to his lips. "Bastion reads you."

"Alpha and Omega. Say again, Alpha and Omega."

"Bastion confirms, Alpha and Omega."

The admiral turned. "Light 'em up."

From the 100+ surface and subsurface ships stationed off the coast, sixty Tomahawk cruise missiles streaked into the air. As the Tomahawks curved towards a parallel course with the earth, the missiles picked up speed until they were travelling at over 500 mph.

The Tomahawks, each armed with a 1,000 lb. warhead, were heading towards nearly a dozen different targets: Galdanian missile silos in Naori spotted by satellites, sites of military significance, transportation systems and government buildings.

BTW, the 'Crocodile' missiles were carrying CH 'Knockout' gas. Only 1 in 1000 people dies from CH gas, due to allergic reaction. I shouldve stated that, sorry.

IC: The Anti-missile system of Southern Naori was adequately prepared for Eredronian attack 76 of the Tomahawks were intercepted by Galdanian Myolozstorkynilivotka XXV missiles. The rest hit an artillery and missile base in the Naori forest, operated by Zefyeren Peacekeepers who had not participated in the conflict. Others hit a Galdanian Military and Police Training Centre in the north of the South, a military hospital outside of Murushima, several barracks, a fuel depot, a factory suspected of manufacturing tanks (in fact, the factory only manufacted the paint used on Galdanian tanks), and a suburb of Murushima (there were soldiers on the street, as there are on all major streets in Southern Naori).

Galdania had learned from the Shining War about Eredron's high-flying super-bombers. A handful of jets had been constructed at a secret Galdanian airbase with the sole purpose of taking out Eredron's long-range bombers.

The planes above Galdania and Southern Naori quickly encountered fierce resistance from the secret Galdanian Storka jets. They were basically modified Jackal I's, with engines and special equipment that allowed them to reach the high altitude that the Eredronian bombers flew at. Missiles were to lock on to the hull of each massive plane, and to blow them apart with new 'scissor' technology. With Scissor missiles, the missiles splits apart after penetrating the hull of the plane, therefore causing even more damage to the enemy bomber. Even if the missile fails to destroy the aircraft, the gaping hole in the side of it would bring it down.

Over Genya, however, the planes encountered no such technology. Missile bases fired all of their missiles as the personelle evacuated. The most dedicated officers and military scientists stayed for as long as possible to try and pinpoint the base from which the planes had been launched before evacuating and sending VIA internet the location.

Nearly eighty small cluster missiles fired off in rapid succession from Zefyrz to destroy the enemy airbase(s).

The six Tu-170E bombers over Galdania were caught offguard by the Galdanian counterattack. Two bombers were completely destroyed by the attack, with another severely damaged.

The missile defense shield that formed a perimeter around Eredron managed to bring down over half of the inbound missiles; a handful passed through the military bases' air defenses, destroying a Reserves Training Center as well as an ammunitions cache.

Eredron desires a swift end to this conflict. We urge Galdania to accept an offer for a cease fire, so that negotiations for a peace treaty may commence. In exchange for an end to hostilities, Eredron is prepared to formally accept the Galdanian control of Genya, as well as drop any request for reparations. In addition, Eredron is willing to negotiate for the eventual reunification of Naori, with the possibility of a joint Eredron-Galdania government during the transfer of power.

Galdania will cease all attacks, so long as Eredron does the same.

Galdanian terms are these:

*Eredron Recognize Galdania as the Temporary Governing Force in Genya
*No Reparitions been demanded to be paid by Galdania, Eredron, Genya, Southern Naori or Northern Naori to any other of the above nations
*Southern Naori and Northern Naori be unified within the next ten years under a liberal social-democratic system that would guarentee social protection (i.e. access to healthcare, education by all [funded by Galdania]), but also allow private business to provide non-essential services.
* Galdania and Eredron both remove 50% of their troops on the island of Naori

Eredron agrees completely with all these terms, except one.

At times, it is necessary for Eredron to consolidate large numbers of troops in North Naori, using it as a refueling station, as well as a midway-point during global deployments. We would ask that an exception be made to allow for temporary 'swellings' of troop strengths in Naori.

Also, although Eredron would not object to a 50% reduction in our troops, we would ask Galdania to consider a balanced and leveled reduction for both sides.

Very well, but any additional troops stationed in Naori by either of our nations would have to be gone within...perhaps, a week? Two, maybe? We shall have to agree on a set ammount of time.
