"hitler" and "starlin" don't exist, try changing those to "Hitler" and "Stalin," and oh yeah, Saddam is out of power and the two previously mentioned are dead.

Hitler usually gets awarded the top spot in questions like these, but I reckon Stalin deserves the blue ribbon this year. The reason mad Adolf always beats him hands down is the fact that he did it to Western Europe and the large Jewish diasphora that has campaigned against him and his works in North America and beyond.

However, Stalin beat Hitler's death count by a LONG way. Figures are imprecise, but adding together the people who died in the Revolution; the Gulags; the Ukrainian Famine; the collectivisation campaign; the subjugation of Eastern Europe; the political purges, etc. you come to a figure of many tens of millions. Added to which his views were not to far away from those of Hitler, both established totalitarian statist dictatorships, suffered from megalomania and paranoia, and were consumed with hatred. When Stalin died he was planning an extermination of Russian Jews that would have made Hitler proud and the rest of the world sick. Plus Stalin was more successful and more time to build his evil into an edifice that continued to rule Russia until recently.

Poor old Saddam isn't really in the running. Too low key, not enough bodies, bit of a loser all round [Iran-Iraq War: tied; 1st Gulf War: lost, Second Gulf War: smashed]. Modelled himself on Stalin though - even grew the moustache.

In my view Chairman Mao is missing from the list. He is personally responsible for the most deaths in ALL history and should really be awarded the title.
