Our nation wishes to install an anti-ICBM system. We don't have nuclear weapons and have promised not to have in the future, but still other nations can attack us with such weapons.
Any propposition will be studied, and then one will be selected. We have a budget of 8 billion for this project.
Thanks for your atention.

Type: Anti-ICBM satellite

Weapons: 3 Interceptor Missiles

Interceptor Missile: Bomb pumped X-ray laser warhead, can shoot down entire flights of ICBM with a single missile.

Cost: $1,500,000,000

ABM-3 Lancelot Anti-ballistic Missile

http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/neustrashimy/images/neu7.jpg

Weight: 10,000 lbs.

Range: 200 km

Warhead: Stinger air mines and High Explosives

Max speed: Mach 5.7

Cost: $15,000,000

Using advances in the reversed wing design and scramjet technology this missile can accelerate at extreme speeds yet maintain its manuerverablility and accuracy. Too expensive to be a mere air to air missile the Lancelot uses a high degree of skill to bring a target into its kill zone. While made of explosives the warhead on the Lancelot has an unusually large envelope, it uses modified Stinger Air Mine technology to slice an ICBM to pieces rendering the missile harmless if intact. A comprehensive system of EB-1C Megafortress II's armed with the Lancelot system can provide excellent national defense. Maintenance on the Lancelot system is much less then an equal nuclear arsenal making them less aggressive and more efficient then a full blown nuclear program.

You know where my storefront is to order the EB-1C, Scellian Advanced Systems Storefront (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/posting.php?mode=editpost&p=2752843).

Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD)

http://www.fas.org/spp/starwars/program/thaad.jpg

Max speed: Mach 3.8

Missiles per Launcher: 2

Range: 450 km

Cost per missile(no launcher): $200,000

Cost per battery: $1,000,000 (two launchers is a battery, four total missiles.)

The THAAD system is meant to provide reliable theater air defense against high and medium level opponents. Able to intercept ballistic missiles and cruise missile, but does not have the degree of accuracy of the more expensive Lancelot missile.
