OOC: I come back from my several months of not playing [mostly brought on by the fact that being xenophobic and reclusive doesn't present a lot of RP oppotunities], and find that a number of people have quickly jumped to put colonies on Sedna. Aside from the fact that there is no freakin' way anyone could get an outpost there so quickly, such a sudden move for colonization just doesn't make sense. Sure, we just barely discovered Sedna OOCly, but why the heck wouldn't it have been known about in the NS universe long ago, what with all the spaceships flying about out there?
One other question before I finish my semi-rant: why only Sedna? Why did nobody jump on Rhadamanthus, or Ixion, or even Quaoar and Varuna?
Now then, that leads into my actual purpose for posting this: Much time ago [in other words, in a thread that has since been wiped], these aliens that I play set about tagging most of the big KBOs. The actual quote if I remember correctly was along the lines of "and ships were quickly dispatched to Quaoar, Varuna, and several other of the largest remote iceworlds". The two things I can be absolutely sure about being in the sentence were 1) specific reference to Quaoar and Varuna and 2) a cover for those useful planetoids that would've been found and targeted ICly but which I didn't know about OOCly yet. In conclusion, it's a pretty good bet that all you people setting up shop on Sedna are being watched by a hive of paranoid aliens hiding somewhere deep under the surface.
