President Anderson slowly moved towards the podium. They were in the ornately furnished hall of the James IV Senate Building. This area was the main Senate meeting area after the senate was closed for repair works and structural repairs.

The Secret Service Agents were out in force, scanning the group of Senators and Congressmen who were assembled in their seats awaiting the President.

When the all clear was given the President paced onto the stage in his usual walk. His young athletic frame conceled his knowledgeable brain and highly developed diplomatic ability. However by not contacting his allies before this speech he had thrown that out of the window temporarily. The crisp black suit undone as he preferred it flapped slightly as he stepped out onto the stage followed by two agents who took position just behind the camera view of him.

As he appeared the crowd stood. This was not neccesary but they felt that he deserved it. In the front row the Joint Chiefs of Staff looked anxiously at the podium, they knew that with this announcement their jobs would become slightly more interesting.

As the President reached the podium he signalled for everybody to sit down, he had a long speech and wanted to be back in the New White House in time to watch his favorite TV program.

"Ladies and Gentlemen" he began as the audience settled "Welcome to the Temporary Senate building, I hope that you are all comfortable and sitting next to people that you like." he looked at the Senators for J City and Blade State, who were well known not to like each other.
After a short pause he continued

"The threat from terrorism is greater than ever before. After the conversion of the HLF to turn around on their ways we have made ourselves a prime target for other terrorist states.
We must defend ourselves from these people. Information handed to me from numerous sources have confirmed that many terror groups known to be behind attacks on our allies operate within certain countries. Those countries know who they are. I want to take this oppurtunity to advise them to cease all funding and training of terror cells, hand over information as to the location of terror cells in other soveriegn states to the appropriate governments, and re-emerge into the Internation community as respected and trusted nations.
For too long have we been threatened by terrorists. We all remember that only a week ago 4 men were arrested trying to smuggle a bomb onto an International Airplane at J City International.
This climate of fear is unacceptable to the people of the USIH. It is my duty as President to respond to threats on our freedom as I see fit.
I have therefore instructed the Military to go to heightened alert, and begin full scale training. This will supplement the measures introduced earlier this year at all entry points into this country, that will screen every person coming and going for any possible terrorist links. As yet i have instructed the military not to begin planning for operations against suspected terrorist camps outside of our own borders or for them to plan full scale invasions of other countries known to be supporting terrorists.I emphazie as yet, i still believe in giving diplomacy a chance. War will be the last step to ensuring our nations saftey and freedom from fear."

The Presidents speech continued whilst political analyers working for the Cable TV News Shows began evaluating what the President had just said. He had almost certainly delivered an ultimatum to all those known to be supporting terrorists, and putting the military into increased training almost made it certain that sooner rather than later the USIH would be at war again.

Nearly two hours later after a quick meeting with the Majority and Minority Leaders the President returned to his limosuine and the convoy drove quickly to the New White House. Once there the President moved quickly to the TV room and sat down to watch with a beer in his hand trying not to think about what he had just said

The next day, 400 Miles South of J City at Fort Hammond

The UH-60 circled once before landing on the large white H painted onto the tarmac. All around were barrack buildings that looked exactly like each other.

As soon as the blackhawk landed the side door was flung open and ten men dressed in combat fatigues stepped out. Two of them immeadiately started marching towards the Colonel who had turned out for this occasion, whilst the rest began unloading equipment from the helicopter.

"Sir, Major Rick Howard reporting as ordered." said the taller of the two

"Welcome to Fort Hammond Rick" replied Colonel D'Augustino "We have the vehicles ready for you. Alpha team are in place monitoring the target location, satillite passes from 0200 onwards show 18 armed guards on the outside. Infra Red shows us double that amount indoors."

"Roger that. We've just finished training at Bragg this should be a simple take down. Alpha find any booby traps?"

"Negative. Lets go to the situation room, the HMMWV's will be brought round to the chopper".



Twelve Hours later at a suspected militant camp in the Central USIH Forest.

The thick brush had hampered movement, but the team was finally in position. From the small knoll that they were on they could look down into the small encampment of 5 buildings and a vehicle store.

Major Howard had his men arrayed around the position where his Sniper and SAW gunner were setting up to provide cover if needed.

He whispered into his radio set dangling around his head

"This is Howard, execute according to plan."

A chorus of "Rogers" came through the net as the men moved into their positions.

1st Sergeant Tom Walters was already in his tree with his M4A1 Carbine up in the aim, its silencer attached as he looked into the Red Dot Scope. There was a small position 50 yards to his North with two men and what looked like a .50cal machine gun. His sights settled on the man who was just behind the weapon.

The rest of the team were moving up to the wire fence that surrounded the compound. Sliently they cut two holes in it and crept in.

Major Howard and his team of 2 moved towards the first building. On the way they saw a slim man with an ak slung over his shoulder urinating against a tree. Major Howard drew his M9 pistol and advanced from behind the man. When he was two feet away he put it into the mans back and grabbed his mouth. While he did that Corporal Anderson pulled the AK from his shoulder whilst the other man covered the main compound.
With a swift knock on the back of the head with the pistol the man was out cold, adn they proceeded to tie him up behind a small bush. Once this was done they moved onto the house.

They moved to the back door. Slowly the Major peered over the windo sill and saw 8 men inside watching TV. He returned to his postion and signalled what he saw to the other two. Anderson then slowly opened the door whilst Howard pointed his MP5SD6 into the room. As soon as all the occupants were in view he depressed the trigger and hosed them down. They all went down, one screaming as he did so.

As the three men moved into secure the room another militant came running out of the bathroom with an ancient G-3 rifle in his hands. Anderson saw him and shot him 3 times in the face with his silenced M4. The man dropped to the ground without a sound until his rifle went off triggering a three round burst that went right into the TV set.

From his position Walters heard the chatter of gunfire. His first thought was to squeeze the trigger. Through his scope he saw the first mans head explode, but while that was happening he had already aimed and fired at the second. Both fell into their position without anybody else noticing.

In the Second Building the other squad led by Captian Sam Carter had secured it. Inside lay 4 dead men. Upon hearing the fire they moved to the windows and saw ment rushing towards Major Howards position. Immeadiately he got on the radio.

"Bravo Lead this is Bravo Two, you have multiple hostiles approching your position from the North. Suggest calling in Charlie and Delta."

"Roger that Captain make the call them give fire support to us. Rodriguez, Wren open up on this group."

With that the bark of a M21 Sniper and the SAW were heard. The rushing group soon thinned out as the survivors hid behind boxes that were all over the compound. Five bodies lay in the open area between the two sets of buildings.


Four Miles away in a convoy of 6 HMMWV's sat the III Platoon of Bravo Company. As soon as the call came they began speeding down the narrow raod towards the camp from where gunfire could be heard. The men all pointed their weapons out the windows and gunner toom their places on the .50cal machine guns on the roof. They were wearing full kevlar over their Combats and most had sunglasses to deflect the burning suns rays.

As they sped towards the Camp, 4 UH-1 Huey's were circling with the rest of the platoon on board. They heard the radio call and began moving in on the area as well.


Meanwhile back at the camp Howard's team were pinned down by enemy firepower. Carter and his team had taken the third hut and were picking off targets as they became availiable.

Walters and Samuels ,who had had a similar task, were moving to support them, and were periodically firing rounds and scoring hits. The two support troops were keeping most of the enemies heads down whilst they were gradually enveloped by Carter and his team.

"This is Carter, Walters come up on our six and provide fire support we are moving into the fourth building. I can see RPG's setting up along with the barrel of a PK."

"Roger that Captain we are moving now." came the reply as the two SF soldiers darted across the open space between huts two and three as they were called. They scrambled in just in time to see Carter fire a 20mm grenade from his M203 into the next building and watch as the roof collapsed.

At that moment the HMMWV's charged through the main gate past the dead .50cal crew and into the compound. The men inside were shooting andybody with a gun and it wasnt long before the militants began giving up.

Only 4 were left who werent wounded while 10 surrended wounded. There were 29 bodies scattered around outside with a further 20 inside. With the captured men that meant that unless intelligence was wrong they had just about everybody that was there in custody.

The SF and Infantry men made a check of the area whilst the helicopters landed and trucks rolled in for the prisoners and equipment.

In J City

"Mr President, news from Fort Hammond. Mission Accomplished : 0 friendly KIA 2 WIA. Enemy losses severe numbers unknown."

"Good. Keep me aprised."replied the President

OOC: This is very good IH, it was worth the 15 minutes I've just spent reading it and it's the kind of detail which I like to see.

It's odd really, had you done this is the normal "WAR ON TERROR!!!1!" fashion you would have millions of comments, but people don't take notice of long RP's so they don't read them and fail to realise what you are doing despite the huge amount of information ready...

I may join this... but I'm not sure, I'll keep an eye on it none the less and good luck.

Thanx, I thought that it being long would deter all but the good Rp'ers from joining so that i dont get some new nation popping up saying they were his men and that hes sent a bazillion men into my captial. I might change the title though to get a little more interest!
