Meltdown in RedCommunist

USSR Network News - AP - 3/15/04

National tragedy today in RedCommunist. Reactor 2 at Ganz City Nuclear Power Planet had a critical Meltdown. The city, located in southern RedCommunist, has been declared a National Emergency Zone; every person within 100KM of the meltdown has been ordered to evacuate. RedCommunist National Guard units are active and on site, while the last emergency forces are pulling out due to the high volume of radiation. The body count has just reached 45,000 dead and suffering from the effects of radiation. One officer of Ganz City spoke to us about this incident. "It was amazing at first, like a giant blue beam coming straight out of the plant. Then it...it hit me, this is what they were always talking about. My partner grabbed me and we went as close as we could to the site before feeling ill. I have never seen anything so...horrifying in my life. People had eye sockets, but no eyes; some were coughing up their lungs onto the street. Fire was all over, the dead were literally walking...all I could do was stand in awe at this. I started to direct people to emergency stations, after a few hours I had to leave," said Officer Ismar. RedCommunist officials have not had any official statements on this accident at this time, though they seem to have noticed this and put a plea in for international aid. Another plant, McIntosh Nuclear Power Plant, that was connected and running system files with Ganz Nuclear Power Plant at the time has reported that the cooling systems are malfunctioning and that a meltdown might be imminent. McIntosh City has been evacuated and the surrounding cities are put on notice to be prepared to leave.

This was the offical Alerican/USSR stock Exchange(AUSE) report over the incident, the Stock Exchange is put out in North Alerica by Of the People-N, West Alerica by Of the People-G and USSR by Of Flags Mon-Fri and has a News section to sum up the days events:

NEWSFLASH:

NUCLEAR MELTDOWN IN RC

(RC, USSR) 45000 are dead today as a nuclear meltdown took place in Ganz City. AUSE reporters have been as close as they can get, 100KM(62 Miles) of the site. That area is being evacutaded by RC officals who have not released any offical word on it, but have issued a request for international assistance. Of Flags, the OTP Territory in USSR, has met that request by sending food and supplies to the people that survived the tragady. USSRNN showed footage of people that came out and ran interviews with them. Because our people only just got to the seen, we have no interveiws or footage to show. We will keep u up to date on what is happening, this tradagy comes just after USSR annoced there sending peacekeepers to Prussia, we will see how that comes out to.

This only goes to show that nuclear technology should not be in under developed nations like RedCommunist. An international organization should be set up to monitor standards in world-wide nuclear power plants, it is the only way to assure worldwide safety. If any nuclear fallout occurs outside of RedCommunist borders, Doujin will hold RedCommunist responsible for any deaths or illness' that are caused, and will force RedCommunist to pay restitution.

So, Doujin, after they suffer a horrific accident that leaves thousands dead, you would force them to pay reparations for a small amount of fallout that might spill across the borders? You might as well charge countries for pollution, and make them pay reparations for that.

RedCommunist, you have our deepest sympathies for this tragedy that has befallen you.

Yes, you have our deepest sympathies as well. We will send some medical teams and nurses to your aid as soon as possible, but travel is not very safe with the terrorist attacks in Entsteig. Please aid Entsteig in return for our aid, at the following address (shown below). You will have won a powerful ally--The Holy Kingdom of Entsteig and the region of Alpineholm.

You are going to force a nation a year older than you to do something?

We send our condolences to the population and would like to send cleaning crews and doctors to help clean up the mess and care for the population respectively.

RCNN: The RedCommunist Government has made an official statement on this accident. Simple, short, but strong. "The RedCommunist Government has been affected by this accident at the Ganz City Nuclear Power Plant, and we wish to let our sympathy be known to the families and survivors of this incident. We will launch an investigation into this, and find out what happened. RedCommunist is allowing all International Clean-Up and AID teams into Ganz City with the support of the RedCommunist Military and The RedCommunist Nuclear Agency." With that said the operation continues on, with the death toll reaching 50,000 in the area around the plant. Dr. Pulski of the RedCommunist Nuclear Agency had this to say, "From what I know of the Ganz Nuclear Plant is that the situation might have arised during a system run with McIntosh Nuclear Plant in western RedCommunist. The infected file might have set a change reactions in which the cooling systems malfunctioned, similar to the problem that arised at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Meltdown on April 26th, 1986 in Chernobyl, Ukraine." More information as the story developes.

OOC: Doujin, RedCommunist is in current time of March 2004. Now we are nearly a near older than you in the game, have a larger population....hell...all around better than you. You seem to be the under developed nation. You are talking about working iwth split atoms, accidents happen. In real life and in this game.
