The Confederacy has sad news to report. Earlier this morning, President Karl Velasquez (aka 'The Fox') was shot this morning by rebel forces under the control of the murderous insurgent Jose Antigua. The country is currently in limbo, but this reporter is sure that we will have a new murderous and tyrannical dictator by the time the week is out. Anyone wishing to assist in 'peacekeeping' until this time is asked to KEEP OUT!

This morning, Jose Antigua, the glorious leader of the Confederacy of Typhonians announced his succession to the leadership of our wonderful nation.

Antigua also revealed crucial evidence that he is, in fact, the legitimate great-great-grandson of the previous recognised incumbent, King Romario Franco III, who was assassinated in 1793.

We find the actions of Jose Antigua detestable, this sort of barbaric and archaic throne-grabbing is unacceptable. The Aequatian Republic feels as though our armed forces should seize control of Typhonians to repatriate its administrative control to the people and bring this criminal Antigua to justice.

Bloodshed can be avoided if Antigua is willing to surrender himself willingly.

Earlier this morning, the glorious President-Governor Antigua refuted the claims made by the so-called 'Republic' of Aequatio, and its President, Premier Bomfy. He produced already cited evidence that he was in fact the legitimate heir to the throne of the Confederacy, and also produced documents showing that the elections held three months ago were, in fact, rigged so that the foul and traitorous Velasquez would win. Antigua has also shown figures that show that 99.6% of Typhonians prefer his government to that of Velasquez. Antigua called on Premier Bomfy to cease his hiding behind diplomatic 'proposals' and such claptrap, and to face him like a man, in a pistol duel, in the glorious tradition of the Confederacy.
