Assasination attempt on Aust's Emperor's Advisor...

Austar Union

It was a warm night in Aust. The air was humid, and the sky was a blanket of stars. Underneath them, in the capital, an Austarian Secret Service operative crept across a rooftop towards the edge. After reaching it, he opened his briefcase, and pulled out the pieces, assembling a rifle.

Finishing the assembly, the operative leaned forward on his belly, and cocked the rifle across the street below into the Palace Grounds. Looking through the scope, he could see an empty window. That was his target's bedroom.

After waiting for two hours, a man appeared at the window. Lighting up a ciggarette, it seemed as he was looking out into the gardens below his window. The operative lined up the cross, readying to fire. The man was the advisor of the Emperor, who had recently taken office as the Prime Minister of Aust.

Suddenly, the advisor turned around. Someone else was in the room, and the advisor began to talk with them.

After what seemed like hours, the person left the room, and the advisor went back to the window, looking out into the gardens. This time, the operative knew he wasnt going to miss his chance.

Quickly, he lined up the cross onto the Advisor's forehead, and pulled the trigger.

Sitting in his hotel room Aust, Johnathan Hampshire, who is reporting for a small newspaper in Reminissions, hears a gunshot, followed by screams. They seemed to be coming from the Emperers home. Picking up his camera, he left to see what was going on.

By chance at that moment the advisor ducked, to pick up an honour pound he had dropped.

A Five Civilized Nations operative working undercover in Aust was tailing the Austarian operative. Cursing under his breath, the operative hid behind a satellite dish, his service revolver drawn. Speaking softly into a comlink, the operative said, "This is Agent Trix, Austar Union is trying to kill an Aust adviser..."

Through his ear piece, a voice yelled, "What!?! Keep your distance and watch him... If he does something stupid, shoot and kill him."

"Yes sir..."

The operative lined up his revolver at the Austarian operative, his finger on the trigger, ready to fire.

A group of 20 Credonian special forces operatives wearing night vision goggles and heavy armor and weaponry slowly creep up to the palace where the emperor was being held by the Emperor advisor.

"This is black sheep 24, target area is hot, shots have been fired, most likely from a sniper. We will begin to move into the compound once we secure the perimeter. Blach Sheep 24, OUT!"

The group proceed aroudn to the back door and quickly and silently begin to unlock it while keeping a look out

The Credonian special forces operatives cut the power to the palace and make a silent entry before silencing their assault riffles (using a silencer obviously). They quickly and steathily file into the building taking cover behind walls as they move.

From the south, 7,000 Credonian infantrymen accompanied by mechanized infantry (30 M3 Bradley's) and artilliary approach to surround the palace. They have been on the move for some time and managed to slip by and destroy enemy military positions along the way. They scan the tops of the buildings and get word from the U-2 planes flying up ahead (U-2's have INCREDIBLE visual accuracy and visibility) that an sniper is on the roof of one of the buildings up ahead.

Upon recieving directions to where the sniper (presumably the Swordmasters of Ginaz sniper) was located, Credonian soldiers stop and point their riffles upon the top of the building where the satellite dish is. Suddenly, an RPG is launched from the shoulder of one of the Credonian soldiers. Within seconds, the satellite dish is totaly obliverated in flames. The damage seemed to be so severe that the area where the dish stood, caved in and blew out the windows of the floor below the roof of the building.

A team of 30 soldiers quickly move in to secure the perimeter whilst the others secure an even wider area around the palace, shooting at the resistence forces trying to protect the evil Austian Advisor.

(OOC: Credonia, its Five Civilized Nations, I'm just using my puppet nation to post.)

The operative cursed when heard the commotion below. Peering over the side of the building, he saw a mass of Credonian soldiers gathering. Cursing under his breath, the operative ran.

Keying his comlink, the operative spoke quickly, "This is Agent Trix, I think I've been compromised. That Austarian sniper must have fired... Damn't, I need immediate extraction!"

"Damn't, go into the sewers. We have an operations team down there..."

"Acknowledged..."

As he reached the edge of the building, preparing to jump off to the next one, a massive explosion occurred, knocking him off balance and down towards the street. Luckily, he landed upon a fire escape. Grunting in pain and cursing steadily, Avanta kicked open the window and drew his submachine.

"Blasted arses..."

A gentleman of medium height looks up from his table at a coffee-shop as the dish (and a fair portion of that roof-top) burst in the wake of the RPG's blast-wave. He calmly moves his broadsheet paper to cover his head as the dust and debris falls about the cafe.

His inward swearing doesn't reflect on his demeanour as he remarks "Oh, my!" and folds the paper before him. Reaching into his pocket he removes enough change to cover his tab and a cigarette case.

Leaving the money for the still-frightened waiter to collect, the gentleman lights the cigarette as he moves discreetly across the road... heading in the direction of the blast, his intention to discover why it was caused.

"Nothing to do in Aust, they say! Nothing to do, indeed."

EDIT Appologies FCN: Next time I'll read the postings more carefully.

OOC: I'd just like to remind you that theirs a battle going on between over 25,000 Austian troops, 3,000 Aust tanks against 16 Space marines and 3600 Sentanils at this time, more Aust reinforcements are arriving. The Advisor and the Emporer are in a secret underground bunker protected by 100 troops.

(OOC: Gee, so much has happened. HP: I dont have a new emperor, in fact I have a president, and he doesnt need protection thanks...)

Hearing the commotion below, the operative drops his rifle, and moves his hand to his belt. Below, he can see a man who had fallen down the fire escape. He knew the man was a threat to him. Pulling out a grenade, he began to throw it down the escape, but hesitated, putting the bomb back in his belt. Pulling out one of his pistols, he began to run, scaling down the side of the building into an abandoned allyway.

In the meantime, back at the Embassy, news had reached security there, which resulted in the Embassy's security being raised.

OOC: Oh OK, cool...

As the operative scaled down the wall, he slipped, and hit the ground hard, spraining his ankle. Collapsing on the ground, he held his ankle in silent agony. Mustering all he had, he stood, and began to limp towards the direction of the Austarian Embassy, staying in the shadows as to avoid detection...

Ever since the recent political argument involving the morality of Credonia's recent actions, there have been infiltrators tracking Credonia's international operatives. Such an assembly as such outside Aust's palace was like a beacon for Muktari Assassins Guild. Nearly a thousand of the professional killers were already moving throughout the city, all with a single objective: terminate as many Credonian soldiers as you can. No civlian casualties are to be allowed.
