Ominous movement near Atlantica Prime. (Post-modern tech RP)

<Atlantica Prime Naval Shipyards, 73 Nautical Miles from McLeodian coastline>

Above water, the base was quite. The occasional Typhoon transport arrived ferrying in supplies and new personnel to a facility that not much was known about. Built on the base of four oil rigs, and stretching some thirty-five storeys into the sky, it outwardly gave off the appearance of part of the Border Patrol program.

Below the waterlever however, it was a far different story. Criss-crossing networks of tunnels and elevators led down to another block of storage bays, hangars, and two large docking structures. At each structure sat a large craft, well over 800 metres long, and gracefully curved, forming an almost alien shape.

Without warning, lights appeared around one of the craft, large floodlights illuminating the battlecarrier, smaller lights betraying a myriad of vessels swarming over her hull, and yet more disappearing through a set of bay doors beneath her.

After almost half an hour of activity, the lights switched off again, and with a strange set of noises, the craft disengaged from the docking station, and manuevred out away from Atlantica Prime.

The Monitor was back on patrol, fully loaded for bear for the first time since the Attican wars many years ago. Many things had changed in the McLeodian Empire, but not her. She was here to stay. With a rush of bubbles, and a roar, she accelerated to nearly 800 knots, and disappeared, leaving behind only a few very startled fish.

Why supercav when everyone would know you were in the vicinity?

Aboard the DN Deep Angel

"Captain, sonar picked up an extremely loud noise. The computer is trying to identify it."

"Location?"

"Unknown, sir."

"Hmm.. what is/was it?"

"Computer identifies it as a submarine supercavitating."

"Hmm.. our friends in McLeod03 must be doing something.. the question is.. what are they doing. Keep trying to find out what exactly the vessel was.

Helm, take us out of McLeod03 waters and bring us to communications depth. We ought to report this to HQ."

"Yes, sir."

"Sir?"
The Naval Intelligence Operations center was fairly active, although the Lt. (j.g.) was quite bored filing through reports to update the "New Empire Fighting Ships of the World" guides, more specifically, subs. The information link on foreign sub reports from BATINTNET had sent him an "Alert" pop-up, which he clicked through. Another message appeared.
[FORNAVINT-SUB-SUCAV]
[Status-Neutral]
[Alert Lvl.-Low]
[Item-Mcleod SuCav Battlecarrier type "Monitor"]
[PrevRefrences-See FedUnionIncident]
"Huh..."
The commander looked at the message. There were very few ships of this type, New Empire had two, and McLeod also posessed some. They were powerful enough to gain notice.
"I'll keep it tagged."
