The Donari Republic announced that it would be entering the realm of interstellar politics today and opened it's doors for trade and political negotiations.
And now, some information onf the Republic of Donari.
The Republic of Donari consists of 10 inhabited star systems, 8 of which are made up of Human colonists. The other 2 are alien inhabitated. Each planet elects a representitive every 10 years and sends it to the Governing Council who preside over the Republic. The Council then elects a Council Leader who is essentially an Executive Officer. They make descisions and rule the Republic.
Donari's military consists of several space fleets, which are not very big at the moment. They have one protecting the "Capital" Planet, one scattered out, protecting the other planets, a smaller one patroling in between planets, and a fourth on diplomatic and exploration missions. All of the planets have their own standing armies.
Technology-wise, the Donari are somewhat backward in space age weaponry and shielding. They make extensive use of long-rang missiles and have very few particle or laser weapons for point defense. The fighters are mostly missile equipped for long range strikes. Their ships measure from 500 meters to over 7 kilometers in length. It varys from system to system, seeing as they have no uniform design.
As for FTL, they have a sort of "jump" system. They essentially distort space around them and make instantaneous jumps. The farther the distance, the more inaccurate and more energy it consumes.
People are generally happy in the Donari Republic and live pretty well.
