The CNS Thetis Bay CVNE Battle Group accompanied by transports supporting the 1st Marine Division have deployed to the area to assist.

In a field 50km away from Ermanskiiy City
CAPT. HIBBS: *salutes* Good afternoon, sir. Here are the latest reports and briefs.
BARTON: Thank you, Hibbs. What's our current situation?
HIBBS: Well, the 23rd and 17th Infantry Battalions have arrived. We expect the 54th to arrive later on today. The 55th and 48th, as well as the 20th Combat Engineers and 12th Medical, are expected during the night/early tomorrow morning. We have set up temporary headquarters just beyond that hill while we wait for the rest of our troops to arrive.
BARTON: Good. Send the 17th on patrol. Scope out the area. Have the 23rd probe farther, close to the city. Well, unload my stuff, and let's get settled...

Lt. Junior Grade Dmitri Konstantinovich Provalov had never fought so furiously in his life. He did not even know why he was here in the first place. One minute he had been accepting his first promotion in the Ermanskii navy, they next minute a soldier slapped a Rifle into his hand and told him to take cover.
Now he was hiding behind a sandbag wall with wild men in jeep driving 80MPH firing machine guns at him. He squeezed the trigger on his rifle, but nothing happened. He was out of ammo.
"CLIP" he shouted, and two were throw his way.
He slapped one into the gun and cocked the weapon.
Dmitri put three rounds into the front of the jeep, when it stopped. The men inside had no time to think before it came to a halt, then exploded.
"So the Navy boys can shoot" Shouted a soldier's voice, from somewhere in front of him
Aleksandr Ramius looked sadly at the city map in the situation room.
"The 201st infantry cannot take back the city sir, at least not with the odds we are facing" The commanding military officer, Brigadier General Vladimir Bondakin. "We have to evacuate sir, we can't get forces here soon enough." he pleaded.
"Listen, we're not letting these rebels take the Capital, If we do, we lose. And I don't think our armie's moral can take another defeat.
no we're seeing this one through."
The Brigadier General was forced to concede, and walked away to give the 201st their next set of orders...

"I bet you a cigarette that you miss" Iosif Bakatin, the spotter said anxiously.
"You're on" replied Yuriy Dzerzhinsk, the shooter.
He sqeezed the trigger of his out-dated Mosin-Nagant Sniper rifle. The rifle made a tremendous BANG and A round tore through the rebel's head.
"I don't smoke though" Said Yuriy as he slid the bolt of the rifle.
"That's why I bet you a cigarette" Yuriy did not smile, but instead shot the guards sole Comrade, while he was still staring at the mess made by Yuriy's first shot

Temporary field HQ
BARTON: Major, what is your position?
MAJ. ROUSSE: I'm at the head of the 23rd Infantry, and we've reached the city limits. We're on one of the major thoroughfares leading into the city, and I've ordered my men to set up a defensive position here. We're receiving sporadic fire from the locals, and we haven't... *transmission static* Excuse me, what I was saying was that we haven't received any casualties yet. Permission to return fire?
BARTON: Well, they're shooting at you, so shoot back. Permission granted. Hold and consolidate your position while I send more units up.
ROUSSE: Thank you, sir.
*transmission ends*
BARTON: Hibbs, send out a message to all personnel saying that the city is hostile. Return fire if (and when) fired upon. Oh, and advance the 54th to the 23rd's position. Send the 48th down south, around the city. See if they can't find a weak spot. Order the 55th to do so likewise around the north. Also, send our engineers closer to the city and have them build a helicopter pad. We should be expecting heavier ordnance soon. Well, we're moving HQ closer to city. Call the 17th back from patrol. Any news from them?
HIBBS: They report that the surrounding countryside is mainly forest-covered. The inhabitants know little of the riot in the city.
BARTON: Good, and it needs to stay that way. We don't need to escalate this riot into a full-blown rebellion. We'll need to cordon off the city so that the rioters don't get out and cause trouble outside. We'll never get them out from those trees.
HIBBS: I'll go take care of those orders, sir. *salute*

HIBBS: Sir, the 55th reports that they have found another unblocked point at which the city may be entered. It is just a shade west of the very northern end of the city. Shall I tell them to hold up?
BARTON: Mmmm...*chews* *swallows*...yes. Tell them to hold that opening. Anything from the 48th?
HIBBS: Lt.Col. Ipsew reports that all possible entry points are blocked and well-defended, or military contingents from various other countries are using them. They are heading north, along the western edge of the city as we speak.
BARTON: Send them to reinforce the 55th up there. *mumbles* Where is my heavy ordnance? Whatever... We'll just have to proceed without it. But first...

Our troops are in position on the northern and eastern ends of your city. We are ready to enter Ermanskiiy City. However, our intel is sketchy, at best. Thus, we need to know your position so that we may safely extract you from the hot zone. Also, any info on the areas posing the greatest resistance would prove infinitely helpful.

With the 1st Brigade joined by the 2nd and 4th of the 17th Airborne Division, a push has been made towards the city, and the 2nd Birgade has just reached its outskirts. The 3rd Birgade of the 17th is inbound at this time, and the 18th Airborne is prepareing to depart.
So far very little combat has occured in the drive towards the city. The troops are slowed by their lack of APCs and trucks. They also lack any form of airsupport, tho they have two opperating 155mm batterys (20 guns each) to support them. The airstrip hacked out by the engineers has not had a second of no trafic since it was opened.
CNS Thetis Bay is still 12 hours out, altho the first ships have begun to arrive on station. Already the Devine Intervention and CNS Tomcat have begun to lend their guns to fire support, 7 inch and 5 inch respectively.

MAJ. CORMAN: Sir, there has been heavy artillery fire near our area. It does not seem to be coming from the city, but instead from off the coast on the opposite side to the west.
BARTON: Right, do we know who they are?
CORMAN: I've asked Maj. Ipsew of the 48th. His recon details confirmed that there are 2 capital ships offshore. From the ship types and markings, they appear to be from Seversky.
BARTON: Alright, they're friendlies. Hibbs, broadcast an open message to everyone in this area alerting them of our positions. In the meantime, order our battalions to set up loudspeakers in our areas outside of the city. Tell the rioters that they are under bombardment, and that anyone who wishes to escape the city must throw down any and all armaments and leave immediately.
HIBBS: Will do, sir.
