The darkness of the Marauder.

Only the light from the stars gave them away. Two fleets of ships, pitch black ones just stood there, in the darkness. They were sending transmissions back and forth, uncomprehensible for any human, even their encryption seemed quite alien. Nothing else seemed to happen, unless one was able to see the multitude of moving lighted objects around them.

They seemed to use the same kind of transmissions, but they still were different. The other fleet only had ships of two different kinds, whilst the other had the same ships, but also ships of obviously different design. They were the same, but also they were not.

((OOC: As said, this "RP" has ended, partially due to lack of interest from others. RPing alone isn't all that fun.))

After a massive spike of energy came silence. Both sides only grew in size as more ships jumped from the blood red HyperSpace, but both were silent. All of the ships were black as the night itself and only the light of the stars illuminated them.

Neither fleet did anything. They only stood still there, in the night. It was almost like they were preparing for something, maybe for a battle, but it was too soon to say what was really happening.

Then came something, something massive, something blue in between the two fleets, and with it came a third fleet. And suddenly, the fleets began to send transmissions to each other again. Also, it was apparent that the two fleets that were there first did not grow anymore.

But the tension was obvious, even if one did not understand what they were saying.

((OOC: Ah, yes, this is an RP of sorts. Joining this RP requires a ship capable of deep space travel. How quickly this is going to dissolve depends on the people who are to take part in this. Of course, that's IF someone's going to take part in this.))

After the third fleet had made its appearance and the fleets had begun to transmit between themselves once again, one of the fleets that had been there before, the one with more different ship classes in it, began to merge with the newest fleet. Those ships began to jump back into HyperSpace, slowly, with no rush. One ship after another disappeared back into the chaos known as HyperSpace.

After a while, only the massive blue object remained of the fleet. A great scream-like transmission came from it and many ships of the remaining fleet left the area, so that only ships of one kind remained in that fleet. Then, even the massive object, disappeared into the HyperSpace.

They were alone now, as the others had left.

After a while, the remaining ships began to turn slowly. They had been quite close to some obscure solar system all this time, and by now, it was obvious that it was where they were about to wander into.

Why, might one ask, but as they had entered the system, transmissions of local kind only became stronger and stronger. It became apparent that they were the reason why the ships were there, but it was unknown whether the incoming ships had malign intent, or were just exploring these parts.

The sun's light did not betray their location, the ships only seemed like dark matter as they went in closer to the colonized parts of the system. They did not reflect any light, and they seemed as dark as the space itself.

Some of the ships stopped moving, and the ones still moving changed course. Soon the fleet had broken into four groups. The ones who lived in the system had too low a tech level on their sensors to detect any of the ships and because of this, they were able to move unnoticed. Not that they cared much of this, although it would make everything so much easier.

Although the ships had not fired yet, it was quite obvious that they were there with malevolent intentions. This planet would not see the light of day ever again.

OOC: So, have the rebels won the doctrinal war again? Is that blue thing the Sa-Matra coming to eliminate all life in that system? Just curious, I can't participate in the RP at the moment seeing as how my only FTL capable ships are being used in other RPs. :)

((OOC: Not really, this is just more like an internal matter of not much importance. At least for the Ur-Quan themselves. Everything will be explained soon enough. Much of the information you asked about is already in the main thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64217).))

And then, they were ready. Their pitch black ships had now spread around the planet to their final positions. They would ignore the crude orbital defenses that were still orbiting the planet and attack the planet itself. The defensive systems would not be even enough to harm the ships.

As custom required, they made contact with those they would soon kill. They told them who they were and of the cleansing, and answered several questions the terrified beings on the planet made. But their time was coming to an end, and they said:

"The time has come. You require cleansing."

And then they brought hundreds of their black discs upon the planet, turning it into a dark, dead world which was unable to bear life. It all ended in mere hours, and not even a single life sign could be detected from the planet.

Another threat had been eradicated. Another species had ceased to exist. This made them content for the time being as they began extracting whatever they could from the system. But soon, soon they would have to continue on to bring death to yet another species.

When they were ready to leave the system, not much was left to it. It was now not only a system with no living beings in it, no. It was now also a poor one. Their strip mining procedures had become very efficient, at least in the sense that once they did it, the system in question would be left almost bare and as such, unable to bear new life, new sentience. And not many beings care about systems that cannot be mined.

No one had seen them, and now all they had left to do was to jump out of the system, and seek a new target. And that they did.

((OOC: Which means this "RP" just ended.))
