OOC- Well, since my modern-tech RP world is kind of stalled while i'm waiting for these two 'parties' to continue their conflict within my borders, I'm going to RP as a future-tech nation for the hell of it and to pass some time. Anyways, here goes...
GalacTech Corporation has announced today the completion of a prototype atmospheric dropship/gunship/transport with the ability to be in space or high atmosphere for short periods of time, making it ideal to be carried aboard space-going vessels for planet exploration or the landing of military forces.
The prototype, the only one built thus far, has been built with indigenous engines, flight computers, weapons, and other technology. The DGT-02AMX, as its known as, has performed superbly in recent tests and promises to be an outstanding addition to Romakia's space forces.
GalacTech Corporation is also in need of advanced weaponry and avionics to add onto the craft to make it the ideal war machine capable of being dropped into the atmosphere by a space-going vessel, then it can fly to its drop point under its own power and defend itself along the way, then use its weaponry to defend the troops/equipment its unloading, then provide air support for the attacking ground forces.
So far, the DGT-02AMX is outfitted with a 30mm heavy cannon, four missile pods with another four more hardpoints for additional weapons. There are three doors on this ship, each one can be sealed for the limited space travel, each door also has one pivoted mount for a machine gun, grenade launcher, or other suitable weapon. It has a rear door for quick unloading of troops or equipment, a left-side door for loading of personnel or emergency escapes from the craft, and a right-side door capable of loading/unloading equipment and personnel. Currently, the spacecraft requires three crew members although four is recommended (One pilot, one co-pilot, one loadmaster, and optional navigations/weapons assistant). In its current configuration (it can change with the addition of weapons and fuel tanks) it can carry up to 42 fully equipped soldiers or 6 tons of equipment.
The craft is powered by four GTE-1442-e3X multi-fuel powerplants that run eight GTR-57-hrT3 movable thrusters and twenty-four GTM-772-A6 maneuvering thrusters (which also run on their own power). The craft does have wings that are fully capable of providing lift in the atmosphere.
Avionics systems include an autopilot system, GTS-AQ-994 guidance system (for space) and a GTS-AQ-884 guidance system (for atmospheric use). The DGT-02AMX is outfitted with the GTS-TQ-33D fire control computer which can track up to 110 targets and maintain a heading on those targets for as long as they are in range. It can detect targets at ranges up to 1200 miles (in space) and up to 240 miles (in atmosphere). The fire control system can also automatically target and engaged enemies with its missiles or main gun. The pilot, co-pilot, and nav/weapons assistant can all fire the weaponry, although it is mostly toggled to one of the three or two (if the Nav/weapons asst. is not on board).
