Defense contractor for ground troops needed

Monte Ozarka
10-03-2004, 06:10
The Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka must first look after its own defense. We are as of yet a small and undeveloped a country, so we cannot afford anything extravagant--only the basics. Therefore, the Archduke has ordered me to put out an order, open to all defense contractors, for several types of items that fit the following specifications:
1) Medium range assault rifle: preferably gas-powered, minimum 30 round capacity, auto/3-round burst/semi-auto selection, high durability in extreme cold and wetness, ease of assembly/disassembly
2) Mobile medium range AA missile batteries: must come with full complement of missiles, capable of rapid-fire, independent radar/tracking and locking systems (can operate independently w/o centralized radar tracking)
3) Light mortars: small and lightweight enough to be carried by two men travelling over rough terrain on foot
4) Light machine guns: under 25kg when unloaded, can be carried by one man travelling over rough terrain on foot, preferably belt-fed, high durability in extreme cold and wetness, ease of assembly/disassembly, detachable tripod, much preferred if ammo and some parts for this MG can be interchangable for those of the AR described above

Please reply with your specifications, stats, and data from field trials. References and recommendations are welcome. Please take notice that all preliminary orders will be for field trials. If and when we decide on the contractors that will fulfill the order for the bulk of our ground forces, we will put in an appropriately larger amount.

Thank you and good luck,
--KARL LEIDNER, Undersecretary to the Secretary of War, Head of Logistics and Equipment Division

The Dominion of Kotterdam would very much like to offer Monte Ozarka our K1A1 FN-FAL variant produced in cooperation between Viking Firearms and Fabrique National. Through the use of advanced composites and light-weight metals, the weight of the weapon is reduced by something close to twenty-five percent. At the same time, though, accuracy has been improved through various measures such as the inclusion of a heavier barrel, even though the overall weight of the weapon is less than standard.

Firing the heavy 7.62x51mm NATO round, the K1A1 packs a powerful punch, even on semi-automatic. The three-round burst ability of the weapon seems almost like overkill when compared with the weapon's power, but it has been included nonetheless. As well, the weapon makes use of the expanded 30-round clips developed for the Canadian C2 Light Machine Gun variant of the original FN-FAL, granting it an ammo capacity equal to that of the 5.56x45mm assault rifles, as well as the Soviet AK-series assault rifles.

Finally, a picatinny rail has been added to the top of the reciever, allowing a number of additional attachments to be mounted on the rifle, and below the foregrip are attachment points for a 40mm Grenade Launcher. The FN-FAL is probably the most widely-used rifle in history, adopted by over 90 countries, including the Dominion. This capable weapon is the main battle rifle for the Dominion Armed Forces, and has been since the inception of that organization. Only the ongoing development of the K1A2 Advanced Self-Loading Rifle variant of the venerable FN-FAL could possibly displace the K1A1 from its position of prominance, and even that weapon is simply an evolution of this fine firearm.

Standard NATO 5.56mm ammunition is fired and M16 type magazines can be used. Unlike traditional rifles, the shape of the pistol grip allows for firing with minimal movement of the hand. The rifle has been fitted with shock absorbent protection. A standard 1.6 x optical sight aids in fast and accurate shooting. The sight is mounted on a Picatinny rail so that it can be rapidly replaced by a night sight. There is also an optional bayonet lug.

heres my own rifle(its good and powerful!):Individual Combat Weapon (OICW)
The OICW is a new weapon only just developed by War in heaven. It is a light weight weapon capable of firing kinetic energy projectiles and an air-bursting fragmentation munition. It allows soldiers to effectively attack targets at greater ranges than ever before. It combines leading edge technologies in miniaturized fuzing; integrated fire control, high strength materials and even infra red/night vision sighting technologies incorporated.

Its excellent hit probability is 0.6 out to 500 meters and 0.4 to 0.5 out to 1,000 meters. This means Effectiveness against personnel and light armor targets is greater, and it also has a better of destroying a AFV than a M855 cartridge fired from the M16A2 rifle.
Specs
Weapon Length: 33 in
Weapon Weight: 12 lbs

5.56MM - equal to M16A2

Anyway, WiH also sells APCs, the most modern on NS as far as we know of, they are nice, just you have to read quite a bit...anyway, i also have a tank on its way, 140mm ET gun, with anti EMP, so if you feel the need to spend spend spend then ill soon have an excellent, expensive tank.

I LIKE BEER: I would like to take you up on that deal. Are these anti-personnel or anti-vehicular mines? Whatever it is, we'll take an even million of these, total coming to $1,500,000, payable upon delivery. We shall also be expecting 40,000 barrels of beer, as well, and we thank you for your goodwill.

KELANTHIA: I must congratulate you on a very well-done storefront.
Also, because the Defense Corps has spent so little on weapons procurals in recent years (not more than $100million total), we have built up a somewhat sizable reserve of funds for this purpose (taking in growth, we have an average population of 6.5million, with a strong economy, a 15% tax rate, though it was higher in previous years, a defense budget of 15% of total taxes, and a weapons procural budget of 55% of that, all over the course of 4 years, gives me total funds amounting to $4,021,875,000, minus the $100million that I've already spent, coming to $3,921,875,000 that I have yet to spend), we are pleased to purchase several of your fine products.
Having said all that, we will purchase 10,000 GPV's with the deep-water fording kit, 50 MLRS's, 20 KH-1 Sparrows, 26 KH-4 Raptors, 36 KH-12 Hermes, and 8 KAC-1 Nighthowlers, coming to a total of $3.56billion. This will be wired as soon as the items are received by our government. We hope to be pleased with your weapons and that we will perhaps do business again.

TO ALL COMERS: Having fulfilled some of our basic military needs, the next items needed by the Monte Ozarkan military include main battle tanks, field artillery pieces (preferrably mobile), and some more infantry equipment (i.e. light machine guns, handguns, mortars, RPG's, grenades, flak vests, etc...). Will negotiate for license to produce.

ooc: If you have an extensive infantry storefront, post the link here.

This tank was designed arround its main armorment, a 155mm high velocity cannon. This gun is the most important feature of this tank. 35mm bigger then the M-1A1/A2's cannon, the 155mm fires an extreemly high velocity round, that contains a powerful charge. A charge powerful enough to destroy an Abrams at 7 miles distance.

Cost is 3.5 million USD per unit. Other discounts will be given on a case by case basis. Licenses are avalible.

The Tiger is vertually identical to the Ocelot externally, with most diffrences being related to the engine and armor composition. The origional name for this tank was Ocelot T.Mk.2, but it was decided to make it a new type.

The engine in the Tiger is a 24 cylinder W diesel, developing 2,500 bhp. This large reserve of power is used to give the Tiger around the best acceleration of any tank ever. This engine is also highly efficent, giveing the same range as the Ocelot, but with twice the cylinders.

The armor is where the diffrence between the tank destroyer and MBT is evident. The Tiger's armor package is mostly of light weight composites, with steel in small quanity. The purpose of useing composites is to keep the weight down, while the plastics themselves are over 5 times stronger then the steel that would normally have been used. This also has the advantage over Depleated Uranium of not being radioactive.

The cannon, which made the Ocelot so desired, is the same. 155mm HV. The diffrence is, this time the shell information has been released. The 155mm HV cannon fires a green round. This green round is a Shaped charge composite round, with 55lbs of explosive contained inside of it. In order to defeat newer types of armor, a small explosive charge is carried on an extention on the front of the projectile. This charge acts to weaken the armor, literally "cracking" the armor, allowing the shaped charge to destroy its target.
