The cavernous bunker was huge, larger than any vessel in the UCSNE Navy. There were several others like it, but only this one and another held a vessel like the one that sat in it now.

The sleek hull had been an epitome of New Empire's forays into oceanic technology, until after the Markov war, when they disappeared. Focus on space and aerospace weapons put them in a period of stagnation. The strange sharklike, finned craft had sat, their wings long plucked and redistributed. But the bunker was now a buzz of activity. Craft were streamed into the large vessel, and last checks were made. They would return.

Clamps were released from hulls as sailors lined the sleek dark blue decks, a flag painted onto the hull, and the number, an unmistakeable number on it's ventral fin. CVSN-88. The trumpets had sounded, and the angels approached.

Far away, the younger sister, CVSN-89 was undergoing similar preparations, but would not leave. It was up to the Admiral Mickolai Angelus to prove that these vessels could once more serve.

The sailors clambered inside the vessel, as the beast began to descend. The fusion reactor kicked up to supercavitating power as the men took their positions. The hydrogen fueled rocket engines had all the fuel they needed in the ocean. The blue flashing lights to indicate preparation for supercavitation blared, and the ship rocketed off, a bubble of air forming around it's hull. The ship raced to it's maximum speed as the sonic boom was heard.

Commander Thomas Dellend stood in the huge 'bridge' nestled under the armor, gigantic screens filling with data as the command crew for the Air Wing, Sea Wing, and Carrier Command prepared for the excerisises. The would move up to the northern coasts, and begin test of onboard armarments.
"Status report?"
"We've taken her down to 5,000 feet below, and slowed to 900 mph, sir."
"Very good. ETA till we hit the test zone?"
"About 2 hours at present speed."
"Very well."
A fising boat sat in the water, it's old hull rocking in the waves. A fish finder sonar suddenly showed a shift in the movements of the fish.
"What the..."
A huge wake rocked the vessel, though any sight of the offender was nowhere in sight. The old fisherman swore, and figured he had something to talk about back at the pub.

The sub slowly deccelerated, the bubble shrinking. In the distance, the two Hammerhead class submarines lurked, LIDAR communications flashing the messages to the bridge of the Angelus.
"Ready to begin defensive systems test. All subs load 4 torpedo, Shkval II."
The tubes were flodded, and the dummy Shkvals were ready to fire. The orders came, and the eight torpedo were fired in volleys of two. The first two jumped for the Decoy pods that created large EM and LIDAR signatures, as well as the second pair. As the next approached, a ball turret swung towards the pair. The 20mm inside barked twice as the two supercavitating rounds slammed into the Shkvals, as they detonated in bursts of bubble, flame, and scrap. As the final pair approached, a tiny micro-torpedo, supercavitating, zipped out of a rack, followed by another. And once more, they found their mark. Dellend smiled as he surveyed the results. It was just like in the stories.
"Surface, prepare for anti-air systems test."
The huge vessels ballast tanks emptied as it rose to the grey waterline, its weapons up to meet the new threats. Two "Super Preadator" drones, each loaded with two Harpoon missiles, approached. The electronic signals came as they began their attack procedures. The two missiles from the first drone screamed down, and once more the 20mm barked, plucking the missiles from the sky. The next drone fired, and a hatch on the deck opened. The four tube RAM launcher telescoped upwards, and swung around as the missiles leapt form their tubes. The contrails met at a pair of blossoming fire on the viewscreens, and the crew rejoiced.
"Alright people, settle down, and let's get ready for the next test.

The senators, generals, and admirals sat around the table, watching the footage of the testing on the screens placed around the room. Many were surprised to find that the little specks shown in the aerial shots of the wake were fishing trawlers. An Admiral, twirling his pen in his fingers, looked at the group.
"Have you reached your conclusions?"
The waves at New Geneva lapped at the hulls of the Markovian Navy as it set out to sea. Less than 24 hours ago, the UCSNE had begun bombardment of Markovian military installations, and an orange glow illuminated the skyline as the shrieks of hypervelocity weapons filled the air.
Carriers and destroyers, ships of all types under the Markovian flag, were making out to sea as fast as they could, before the rain of steel hit them. Most would never make it. Sonars went wild as the effects of supercavitation registered, and before they had time to respond, the hulls of a destroyer crumpled and then burst into flame as the first volleys of torpedo hit. Under the waves, the S-16 Viper Subfighters released more of their deadly payload, engaging with supercavitating cannon as they slowed to attack speed. Behind it all was the looming shape of the Admiral Mickolai Angelus as the cruise missiles leapt from vertical cells. What the super submarine lacked in it's wings, it made up for in firepower.
The stories of the supercavitating submarines echoed throughout the tales of the Markov war.
A balding Senator looked at the admiral, tenting his fingers.
"I still don't see the reason for all of this testing. The two subs were retired for a reason. We already have a SubCarrier with twice the capacity, and similar defensive capabilities."
A young female naval officer, part of the "Net Warriors" Technology and Future Combat Simulation Group, looked at the senator with a tone of annoyance.
"This isn't any carrier. The primary feature of the Angelus class is it's speed. While the Dleroes Class does have much more capacity, this submarine can be almost anywhere in the world within 24 hours. Not only that, but it carries the firepower to conduct offensive operations on it's own. Coupled with the new Block 50 Storm Rider and Block 60 Hurricane, we can-"
"Spare me the technobabble, this is primarily about budget. Do you really think we can afford this?"
"The Angelus is no more costly in maintinance than the Dleroes, only the replacement and acquisition prices are anything exceptional. We need this weapon more than ever with our reliance on the sea."
The admiral rose as the screens flicked off.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, that's quite enough for now. From what we've heard, there is not enough evidence nor opponents to the Angelus to cancel the reintegration into the fleet. These tests will continue as planned until we can find any serious flaws in the design."
New Empire

The Angelus resurfaced, her MHD and waterjet propulsion pushing the sleek vessel along. The CH-91 helicopter from shore orbited over the vessel, descending under computer control towards the deck as the covers retracted. The twin rotors eventually slowed as the uniformed men stepped out, salutes snapping on the deck.
The 4 men returned them, walking towards the entrance to the corridor that lead to the Combat Information Center/Bridge. A pair of armed guards saluted as the lead man flashed his pass, and the others did as well. The silvery gray door opened as they entered. Commander Dellend turned and saluted, and the lead officer returned the salute.
"At ease, Commander. I'm General Nicholas Hellt, Army Special Operations. With me is a team of ASO Intel and Operatives to oversee this mission. I have this copy of orders for you."
"Operation Mink Tooth?"
"You'll have enough time to read it as we make our way to Panama."

The hydrogen rocket engines spooled up as the Angelus made it's way across the Atlantic. It'd be quite a find for any roving patrols, but for now the Captain was more worried about the orders. Panama had been the most recent foreign aid area for the UCSNE, after the CoC and UCSNE began relief operations and modifications to the Canal. Their target would be a freighter registered to an international company with facilities in Kurtz and New Empire, with ties to the Kurtz Liberation Front lead by Col. Kruman and his gang of ex-commandos. The Angelus was still an hour, give or take, from the 200 mile deployment zone East of Panama.

The submarine slowed as it reached the two hundred mile mark, and than surfaced. Control fins came up first, followed by the massive hull. Water washed off as the deck covers retracted, revealing the E-14 and it's rotodome. The miniature AWACS craft hovered up, along with two CH-91 Black Mamba transports loaded with the ASO teams. Two F/S-39 Storm Riders used their VSTOL thrusters to make their way upwards in a patrol as a pair of SF/A-15 Hurricanes were loaded up in case of the worse. The AWACS VTOL began it's search pattern as the two CH-91 made their way towards the Canal area.
"Runner 1 to Umpire, what are we looking for here?"
"Runner 1, this is Umpire, we're going for the freighter 'Old Light', registered in Kurtz, flying Kurtz and UCSNE flags. Belongs to Castern Shipping."
"Roger that, I've got her now. She's coming out of the canal."
"Unidentified aircraft, you are violating Panamanian airspace over the canal. Please stop now or give us your flight plans so that we can verify."
"Hey umpire, the locals ain't happy. We're gonna do a magic trick."
"Confirm that."
The two aircraft switched on their Athena systems, and they disappeared of Panamanian radar screens.
"Unidentified aircraft, respond! Back off from your current course now!"
"Attention 'Old Light', this is the UCSNE Navy. Please stop your vessel now and prepare for boarding."
The freighter continued, although some crew members were working on the large container on the deck. The sides of the tarped box fell off, and the tarp were pulled off, revealing a very familiar sight to the ASO operator sitting in the doorway of the aircraft as the boarding team prepared to move.
"FLAK!"
As the words left his mouth, the first round from the pair of MLG-27 Mauser 27mms splashed into the hull next to him, showering him with shrapnel.
"Awww SHIT! Umpire, that fucker has a pair of Mauser Twenty-sevens! We need to back out, right now!"
The two Mambas began evasive manuvers as the rounds pinged off of them. The left engine on Runner 1 began to smoke, but the two aircraft made it out.
"Dangit, Runner 1 reqesting a Lemming drop on that Triple A on that Mauser!"
"Runner 1, we can't perform an airstrike in Panamanian airspace or in international waters!"
"Well, they're fucking shooting at us, so why don't we just kill them, huh!"
Hellt swore as Dellend looked at the threat symbology on the screens.

"Umpire, we're taking heavy fire, and we're coming in for landing. I am requesting a Lemming Strike on the deck of the target."
"Godamnit Commander Dellend, do it!"
The commander sighed as he signaled to the Air Commanders.
"Umpire to Home Run Flight, you have permission for lemming drop on the Target."
"Roger that, Home Run Flight on the way."
The Metalstorm MBLU-12 "Lemming" 50mm Pods were attached to the wings of the SF/A-15s as they taxied towards the EM catapults. The two shapes were flung into the air as they engaged their engines, circling around to hit the vessel from behind.
"Hey, Razor, set the Lemmings to hit the ship deck only, automatic." called the pilot of one to his weapons officer.
"Roger that Skipstone, Lemming set on automatic."
In the other aircraft 'Duck' and 'Whiskey' had done the same.
"Duck, take her in right behind me. Here we go!"
"Roger that, look at 'em run!"
The two aircraft screamed over the canal at near supersonic speeds. They flew out, into the sea, where the freighter as a mile from the canal entrance.
"And, now!"
The 400 50mm Fuzed HEFrag charges from the first aircraft showered the deck, ripping apart the guns and crew alike. The second aircraft did the same.
"Holy fuckonastick, they're wasted man! They're GONE!"
The disemboweled men and machinery lay on the smoking deck, a newscrew hovering by.

The rotors of the helicopters washed over the deck as they descended. The black armored bodies of the ASO operators jumped from the aircraft as they shouldered their J9SD submachineguns, clearing the area. Blood and gore had showered the area, and the mangled metal carcass of the Mausers spewed smoke.
"Sir!" cried an ASO operator to his leader, "I've got the manifest!"
"Bring it here... 4 other Mausers other than this one... Shit, these were the ones we ordered for our Coast guard ships! No ammo for them, Auto parts, and computer equipment. Dammit, this is going to look real bad for us."
"Keep checking the auto parts crates, you can store a lot of weapons in car bodies. Check out the contents of all the computer systems, too. Intel says that these guys have been smuggling arms to the KLF."

David Castern, CEO of Castern shipping, sat in the private stateroom of his company cruise ship. On the chair in front of his desk sat a tall man with a scarred face and shaved head. The man snapped the cap of a pen back on, and laid it down on the polished oak desk. A packet of papers with a fresh signature sat on the desk, courtesy of the man.
"I'm still very disappointed with the actions of your men. If they hadn't opened up with deck guns, we could have gotten off ok. Do you know how much money and respect my company has lost? I'll tell you, too-"
The scarred man rose his hand.
"We're dealing with a situation that's about more than profits, Mister Castern, or have you forgotten that? Now I'll be seeing you again in two weeks, and by then we'll hope you aren't in jail."
With Castern fuming in his office, the man departed. As he shut the door of the stateroom, he nodded to the stocky bodyguard, who did the same in return.
The two walked towards the stern of the large vessel, where a nondescript helicopter sat. They climbed aboard as the rotors and engines spooled up, lifiting them away.
A few hours later, in the engine room, the head mechanic looked around the area.
"So where's the thing?"
The new mechanic was inexperienced, and was definetly shaken up by whatever he saw. He had said it wasn't in the manuals, and kept on blinking this small green light. The head mechanic walked with the new one towards the offending object, sitting near a fuel pipe, it's tiny green light still going on, off, on, off.
"It's probably just one of those new smoke detectors, I've seen stuff like this in the catalogs. I'm gonna take a closer look, just to be sure. The head mechanic leaned forward, squinting at the engraved text near the light.
The light turned red.

The seabird sat on a buoy with it's flock, picking over a freshly caught fish that flopped on the bird-dung stained object. Another, younger bird hopped towards him, sqawking. The old bird pushed him off with a screech and bat of the wing, and continued in it's pickings. A bright light on the dawn horizon appeared. The old bird had enough sense to know it wasn't the sun, as this light was in the East. A rumble was heard, and the birds jumped off the buoy, making a racket as they took to the skies. Smoke crested over the firey light now, thick and black.

"Good. Switch me to the frequency of the sub."
"Yessir."
"Armed Research Vessel," the commander began, trying to keep the disbelief of the term out of his voice, "we advise you remove yourself from the area, and stay surfaced. We don't want anyone to get hurt, so we'll give you an escort."

Inside the freighter, the men methodically went through the crates. One of the troopers pried open one of the computer crates, only to find that the computer was already on. It was no computer.
"Guys, get-"
The motion activated and sound activated device pulsed a high-frequency signal, activating bombs laced throughout the vessel. The sides of the freighter exploded, fire leaped out the loading elevators, and the bridge disintegrated in a ball of fire as the engine room gouged off the stern. Shrapnel laced the deck of the NESS Tychan, sending trails of sparks where the metal hit metal. The work of the scarred man had struck once more.

The .50 round was hardly suitable for anti-subcraft work, and the rounts rattled on the armor like hail. The "blinded" S-16 turned, arming a SeaFist Heavy Torpedo, one of two that it carried. The large weapon dropped from the bay as it's hydrogen breathing rockets ignited, sending it to .9 Mach. The second submarine launched another SeaSlam at the Yamain as the two S/V-12 Pegasus above began to drop LIDAR/EMS targeting buoys.

[OOC: Why do I feel like you don't like me. I mean I join this RP with a good intention, and here you go and tell me to make my move, and then you make it seem like your subs are ten times more better than mine?]

"The turrets are doing anything!" A tech yelled.
"Switch them to beams!" Marns ordered.
In all the turrets the men switched the turrets to beams. On the turrets the barrles sunk back,a nd new ones came out. The guns fired and red beams, capable of going through the thickest armour, soared towards the enemy subs.
Meanwhile counter torpedos were sent and smashed into all oncoming missiles.

OOC-Huh? When did I scream they were better? A 50 ton minisub is more manuverable than a full sized one. Physics dictate this. Ok, let's just clear up where were standing on tech here, so list off the stats of your subs and weapons.

OOC-
Alright, do you have stats for the weapons (Particularly the "beam" guns...) and the systems. A few things
-Cloaking device-Huh?
-Scanner jamming-I don't use any 'scanners'...
-Radar doesn't work underwater
I'd swear this thing was a space ship...

[OOC: Well that is what I am custom to using.
Oh and, yes radar is uised underwater, how do you think they track other subs? A beam cannon is a laser gun. Cloaking device; little tiny cameras everywhere on the sub, so when activated they project what is behind the sub, so it appears that the sub is invisible.]

OOC-No, sonar is used underwater... And I don't use visual methods to identify other subs. But whatever. I'll have a post later.
