Task Force: Liberty Shield

10-03-2004, 00:59
Chancellor Kai Sillis or Rigan propped his feet up on his desk.

For months now, he had been planning the creation of an international force of elite operatives, to form a Counter Terrorism team. The increasing malicious activity of various factions and cells towards peaceful nations alarmed him, and he had come to this conclusion to stop it.

Kai looked over the list once more, and decided that these nations were truly worthy to join. He'd donated a portion of his nation's land quietly and under the cover of a weapons testing facility. It had been built with quarters for the 20 man CT Team and their families, an armory with various types of weapons, a command center, a com center, and of course, a bar.

He walked over to his fax machine, fed the list in, and instantly an invitation to a newly forming team that would ensure peace was sent to nations all over his region and the world.

Task Force: Liberty Shield was off the ground.

OOC: Any nation that holds justice true may join, as long as they are serious about it and have knowledge of weaponry and some tactical knowledge. Later on, I'll need someone to initiate terror operations, as an enemy. But not now.

Good job for your first post. :)

Haton: Prime Minister's office

The Prime Minister sat in his office thinking of what to do with the growing tensions with Dyelli Beybi (With the help of a bottle of vodka.) when his fax machine began to beep. He stood up and walked over to the machine. He had rarely used it before, prefering the teletype machine. He waited patiently for the document to print. Once it was done he picked it up and read it. "Hmm, a counter terrorism team, could be useful with so many terrorists running about." He took out a piece of paper with the official letterhead of Hattia and wrote...

Greetings from Hattia, Chancellor Sillis. Your idea of an international counter terrorism team intrigues me. I will put the idea before the People's Congress and see what they think. I was wondering, how many operatives would we be able to send?

Thank you
Prime Minister Dimitri Nikolai

Kai sat at his desk, working out purchasing fees for a new type of kevlar suit for the team when the fax machine began working. He walked over to it and read the message. He smiled to himself. He immediatly began drafting a form in response to the Prime Minister of Haton's Office.

It wrote...

I am pleased to hear of your interest. Currently, there are four members from Rigan on the team, and htat is all. You are the first to show interest, therefore, I would say that a maximum of 4 soldiers would be allowed. I'm working currently with eight to a team, so, we would have one go-team. If you know of any other nations that would be interested, please forward this information to them at your region's place of meeting.

Thank you for your interest.

Respectfully,
Chancellor Kai Sillis of Rigan
UN Member

Kai fed it into the fax machine, and it was on it's way.

OOC: If you would please inform other nations of this, it would be much appreciated. This could take off and go, if it gets the deserved attention. :)

Just faxed...

Chancellor--
The Archduke of the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka realizes that rogue terrorist organizations pose a threat to all countries, big or small. Thus, he has authorized me to send a special CT team to Rigan. You shall be expecting a four-person team of SSgt. Eric Pinns, FSgt. Rick Xeros, and 1st Lt. Will Carder, led by Capt. James Yern.
Before this team is deployed, however, there are a few issues to be addressed:
1) Should they bring their own arms, or will the Rigan government supply arms to the whole CT team? Currently, our team is armed with NSAAR1 rifles and NSAMP-Tactical sub-MG's (for info see http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128694)
Other optional armament are K1A1 FN-FAL's with attached 40mm grenade launcher. (info at http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?topic=130351) Other weapons procurals are underway.
2) What is the chain of command?

Respectfully,
--GENERAL BRADFORD POTZKY, Commander, Joint Services Special Operations

In light of recent terrorist activity, shall we follow through with Liberty Shield?
