The Prime Minister, Euan Tarring, today addressed the nation calling for such republican dissidents to cease such plans. Today, the Royal Tagrian Navy ordered the construction of a new Aircraft Carrier, the Invincible Class. HMTS Invincible was laid down last week in a modernisation effort by the Navy. The Navy announced that the Multi-Billion pound venture would ensure Tagria's national security.

The Carrier will be able to carry some 40 aircraft. The Royal Tagrian Navy announced that there was still discussion going ahead on which aircraft would be used on board the carrier but the two main contenders would be the Navalised Eurofighter, which is used extensively in the Royal Tagrian Air Force, and the F-35 JSF.

Admiral of the Red Hewitt stated that the carrier would be a much needed addition to the relatively small Royal Tagrian Navy. He stated that the Navy would also be considering the procurement of further destroyers and surface vessels.

In other defence news, there continues to be speculation about the State of Tagria's ground forces. A leaked report stated that the army was inadequately equipped to deal with an attack on land against armoured vehicles. It also further stated that the Armoured Divisions in the Royal Tagrian Army were, whilst modern and efficient, were too inadequate to defend the country from an armoured attack.

The Government however has neither confirmed nor denied the report. The Ministry of Defence however have stated their intention to look for a new MBT to supplement their some 50 strong Challenger 2 MBT Force.
