The first new LRRN project is the construction of 15 Bremen class frigates. They will be LRR's new coastal patrol/cutter vessels, ever since the Lafayettes were re-tasked to amphibious support roles. They will incorperate the usual line-up of modifications, like a domestic radar, and the standard pair of Combined Defense Mounts, one atop the bridge and one atop the helicopter hangar. They will also recieve SA-20 launchers and radars, LRR's newest high-performance SAM. The improved Bremen class will also have excellent ASW capability, but at the expense of half of its ASMs. They will also have the ability to act as motherships to patrol boats on LRR coasts, and will have a reinforced bow for icebreaking. Some will actually be icebreakers from the hull down, with all the facilities of a frigate in terms of armerment and electronic systems. The helicopter hangar will be converted to carry the LRR standard Ka-27 ASW helicopter.

The LRRN will build 8 Speedy class hydrofoils for high-speed patrol duties, more specifically anti-smuggling and anti drug-running. The fast boats used to run drugs and various other items through LRR waters often outpace the 45-knot top speed Hauks, who's crews are not very inclined to use their weapons on an unarmed vessel, and the faster Skjolds and Boras are missile boats which spend most of their time further out to sea. The speedy class will be capable of a top speed in excess of 60 knots, and a very long range. It will be armed with light machine guns and an AMS mortar.
