For those who care, and those who have embassies in Koenberg, here is information on the great Republic of Nimzonia! Nimzonia is an island nation in the North Atlantic, southeast of Greenland and west of Iceland. It has an area of roughly 130,000 square miles (don't hold me to that), which is approximately the size of Germany.

The Nimzonian currency is the Shiv
The national animal is the crow.

The official language is Nimzonian, although most citizens also speak english. Danish and German are also spoken.

Nimzonia is divided into four provinces, Nordreijk, Ostreijk, Sjudreijk, and Sentry Isle.

Due to its northern climate, less than 1% of Nimzonia's land is used for permanent crops, so a large proportion of the required foodstuffs must be imported. Nimzonia has a large fishing fleet, catching mostly cod, and every year there is a six month long whaling season.

Nimzonia was settled circa 700AD by the danes, who were exploring the north atlantic at that time. The next century or so was fairly quiet, with Nimzonian peasants working away quietly and paying tribute to the Danish king, until 868AD, when the governer, Lord Harald Bergsson, declared Nimzonia a sovereign state, and named himself King. The Danes were furious, and sent a fleet to conquer the errant isle, but it was caught in a storm, and driven onto rocks on the Ostreijk coast. Only a few badly damaged vessels managed to crawl back to Denmark. Legend has it that when King Harald I came to inspect the ruins of the fleet on the morning after the storm had subsided, huge flocks of crows circled over the carnage below, attracted by the sudden abundance of carrion. The Crow was the national animal of Nimzonia ever after. Denmark never again tried to re-occupy Nimzonia, so the country was left pretty much to itself.

An outsider in world politics, because of its remote location, Nimzonia paid little heed to the outside world, until it was conquered by Sweden, in the 17th century. The then king, Svein IV, was executed, and Nimzonia was declared a province of Sweden. This occupation continued until the late 18th century, when a rebellion supported by the French overthrew the Swedish occupiers, and the Republic of Nimzonia was established, in 1796.

Nimzonia made rapid attempts to industrialise, and catch up with the rest of Europe. When the first world war broke out, Nimzonia was nominally allied with the Entente powers, but never committed any forces. It did, however, act as an important waypoint for the atlantic convoys.

Nimzonia was briefly occupied by the Germans, during World War II, in an attempt to deprive the allies of its port facilities, but managed to liberate itself in 1941, with aid from the US and Great Britain. When the elections were held soon after, General Hjaargdals, leader of the resistance, won by a landslide victory. His Anchor Party secured its grip on power, and has remained in government ever since.

The present dictator, 'President' General Paulus Jaarinen, has been in office since 1976. During his tenure, General Jaarinen has strengthened the economy, and allowed the people a few more liberties than his predecessors, although the Anchor Party is still firmly in control. Nonetheless, he is quite popular with the majority of people, with only a few dissenters (who generally don't last very long). In 1981, he commissioned a new national anthem, to reflect the country's progress.

Nimzonia has a compulsory military service program, which has been in effect since 1941. From the age of 12, boys recieve military training alongside their regular education, in preparation for a compulsory year of active service at the age of 18, followed by five years in reserve. General Jaarinen maintains that keeping a strong military is essential, due to the "Turbulent political climate" in the international community. The military program has resulted in hard working, patriotic citizens, with a strong sense of unity, although Nimzonia's art and music has suffered from such a well disciplined citizenry.

Nimzonia maintains three regular, and six reserve armies, of roughly 80,000 men each. All armies are equipped with the RSA4 (NSAAR1) rifle, and have access to:

Nimzonia invites Adderton to establish an embassy in Koenberg. We would also like to open one of our own in the capital of Adderton.

Nimzonia exports mostly fish, automobiles, and weapons. We are also looking for trading partners who export agricultural produce - while we have a limited amount of livestock, and plenty of fish, the climate prevents the growing of most crops, and we have to import a large proportion of our food requirement.

The Incorporated States of Whyzardia have been on the lookout for a lucrative market for our beef-based agricultural export industry and our extensive research indicates that Nimzonia would be an ideal candidate for a mutually beneficial trade agreement. The recent outbreaks of Mad-Cow disease across the globe have now completely justified our longstanding policy of forbidding any and all foreign imports of bovine stock and/or feed supplies and we now feel the time is right to offer our 100% certified disease-free beef products to select nations in return for low-cost supplies of military hardware and wood-based products such as furniture and paper.

Unfortuately, while we are one of the world's top producers of high-quality beef and organic fertilizer our focus on maximizing yield from our limited land area has led to there being no trees at all remaining on our small island nation. Our citizens are tired of sitting on rocks and yours are no doubt tired of eating fish.

In addition, our governing board has recently voted to significantly increase our defense spending. Until recently our entire defensive strategy hinged on rolling our unlimited supply of rocks down on the heads of anyone foolish enough to attempt an invasion. Fortunately, the odor of an entire nation devoted to cattle-raising has kept anyone from being even remotely interested in taking us over up to this point but the recent introduction of legalized casino gambling and the consequent large supplies of almighty dollars residing in our vaults has led to the recognition of a need for more firepower to deter invasions both by pirates and by drunken college students on spring break who tend to cause nationwide stampedes.

In conclusion, we would like to propose opening both diplomatic relations and a foreign free-trade zone with the Republic of Nimzonia. We will be happy to supply a suite of offices on the 52nd floor of our newly erected corporate tower (high enough to be above the smell of the nearby pastures) for an embassy.

Of course, once they've got past the navy, the air force, the minefields, and the coastal defence batteries, we're helpless. :P

Speaking on behalf of the Archduke and of all the citizens of the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka, I would much like to extend the hand of friendship to Nimzonia.

As such, we would gladly welcome a representative of Nimzonia to set up an embassy in our capital city Reisz. If you are to accept the only restrictions placed on this embassy are:
1) It shall not harbor any sort of large ordnance.
2) The total guard detail personnel must not exceed the number of 75.
3) No permanent weapon emplacement with a direct line of fire into territory not within the embassy will be erected within 100 feet of any street.
