Reports of a major riot in Free Rebellion (Open RP)

Free Rebellion
08-03-2004, 17:56
"Reports are coming in live from Central City in Free Rebellion of a huge riot, in which hundreds, if not thousands of protesters have taken to the streets and are causing massive destruction to the city. Some are carrying firearms, and shots and explosions have been heard across the city since early this morning. The police force is doing everything in it's power to keep control, but there have already been multiple casualties. The largest amount of people seem to be gathering on the road heading towards the Government Offices, and although the police are blocking the rioters from reaching the offices, there is much violence, and it seems the police are losing ground. A full scale alert has been called. We will keep you updated as the riot continues. This is Ashris Rodel, reporting live from Central City!"

Harry Barker stared out of the fifth floor window of the Government Office at the massive crowd fighting the police. The humidity of the rainforest climate of Free Rebellion was getting to him, and sweat ran down his brow. He wiped it off impatiently and looked at Richard Peterson, his head of security and unofficial general.
"Why aren't you down there dealing with this?" Barker demanded irritably. Peterson looked at him coolly.
"Because," Peterson replied, patting the rifle slung across his chest, "I am your personal guard, and if those rioters get in here, someone's going to have to protect you."
Barker glared at him, and nodded to his own rifle on the nearby desk.
"I can use a gun, you know!" he said
"Yes sir, but not against an entire group of rioters! I don't intend to stay here should those people make it through the police."
"Lets hope Sally can keep them back, then," Barker said, staring once more out of the window.

For Sally Tyne, down at street level, the riot was loud and lethal. She commanded her police officers to retreat, regroup, and charge, over and over again into the rioters, but still it seemed that the rioters were advancing. She pushed her blonde hair back behind her ears and ordered the police to charge again. The riot police ran forwards, shields lifted, spraying rubber bullets in all directions. A few rioters yelled and fell, clutching legs and arms. The rest were caught in the charge, and for a moment, the barrage of attacks stopped.
"Keep moving!" Tyne yelled, leading a small group of police officers into a crowd of thugs with broken bottles and planks of wood. One of the thugs snarled at her as she came level with him, and made to swing with a broken bottle. She swiftly brought her baton across and it connected with the side of his head. He dropped to the floor, and she lifted her shield to defend against another glass bottle being thrown at her. Suddenly, she heard a grunt, and a police officer next to her dropped to the tarmac, blood seeping out onto his uniform. In horror, she saw a group of rioters had pistols and rifles, and were firing them haphazardly into the police line. And all the police were using was rubber bullets. Tyne swore.
"Pull back! Pull back!" she shouted, trying to make herself heard above the noise, "We undereastimated them! We're not going to be able to stop them reaching the offices! Notify the Head of Security immediately!"

Up in the office, Peterson could see what was happening, and was not surprised when his radio chirped and a voice of a police officer came through.
"Sir! We can't hold them. They've got guns and explosives and who know what else. We're going to have to retreat!"
"Understood, officer. Tell the Chief to gather her forces and retreat through Vesdton Gardens. We'll need you to secure the evacuation of the administration of this building."
"Yes sir!"
The radio clicked off, and Peterson turned to Barker, who was pacing up and down by the window.
"Sir, we must leave. The police can't stop the rioters."
Barker swore.
"We can't just leave the Government Offices to be ransacked and destroyed by looters and rioters, Peterson!"
"And we can't defend it until we've gathered all out forces and have some kind of strategy!"
At that moment, there was a loud smash as a bullet flew through the window. The glass shattered instantly, and Barker swore again.
"So much for anti-riot glass," he said, hurriedly moving away from the window, "Fine, fine, lets go, but let me do something first."
"What's that, sir?"
"Ask for some help with this of course!"
He left the room running, and Peterson raced after him, following him down to the communications dept.
"I want to send a telegram!" Barker announced to the frightened looking girl who was the operator.
"Y-yes, sir, and who shall it be to?"
"All nations in radius. Urgent message."
"What's the m-message, sir?"
"Send this: "Free Rebellion requests immediate emergency and military assistance from any nation who can afford to help. There is a full-scale riot. The rioters are about to storm the Government Offices in Central City. Repeat, request urgent assistance from any nation who can help."

Peterson stood calmly as Barker stood and turned. He was scowling.
"We need to leave, sir," he said.
"Yes, yes, I know."
The People-Appointed Leader walked over to the button on the wall on the far side of the room. Pressing it would order a red alert and evacuation of the building. He pushed it, and an alarm began sounding. The telegram operator got up and made her way out of the room. Barker watched her go, and then took a small pistol from his belt and checked if it was loaded.
"Right," he said, as Peterson made for the door, "Lets move."

"Target in range."
"Roger that, Apache's return fire and cover pick up."
"Copy that"
The group of FPS choppers, consisting of eight black hawks guarded by two apache's, approached the central capital building. The police were pulling back slowly towards the building, which was being evacuated via a back door. Captain Dan Renkerson looked down as he flew the chopper. The crowd was surging towards the building, and he was extremely worried that they might be too late.

"Free Rebellion government building, this is FPS chopper group one. How can we assist?" The captain said via radio, hoping they would pick up the transmission. If they didn't respond in the next few minutes, of course, he would simply use the loud speakers.

The plan given at base had been for the special forces troops to land, get as many government workers into the choppers as possible, and, after boarding themselves, for the choppers to head for the FPS embassy.

Upon landing, the government officials would be given the option of being evacuated to FPS ships off the coast, or be transferred to a location of their choice.

OOC: Hope no one in the crowd has RPG's or anything like that, or this'll be turning into Black Hawk Down...literally.

Harry Barker raced over to the van that had been set up with communications equipment, and wrenched open the back doors, surprising the staff inside.
"Give me that radio!" Barker demanded, taking it anyway. He had been told the helicopter pilot was on the radio, and got to the van as soon as he could.
"This is Harry barker, People-Appointed Leader of Free Rebellion. We are very pleased to see you. The building is almost evacuated, although that crowd is getting closer to it."
At that moment, there was a deafening explosion somewhere near the Government Office. Barker swore, and Peterson rushed out of the van to see what was going on.
"FPS, you're authorised to use deadly force, but try to keep the casualties down, or this will take weeks to sort out. Try to disarm anyone you can. Some of them are just college kids caught up in it."

Barker gave the radio back to the operative, and then climbed out of the van. Looking up at the Government Office, he saw a pillar of smoke rising up into the sky. He swore again, and then headed for a nearby jeep.
09-03-2004, 13:48
A flight of three Glephian Combat Transport helecopters clattered through the smoke. Inside the lead chopper, CapitainWarriorMonk Gopp ran his hand over his bald head. Taking the radio mike in his other hand, he thumbed the switch.

"Listen up, my Brothers. We are going to touch down in front of the Government office to give those people a chance to get clear."

A Glephian WarriorMonk touched his Captain's arm and pointed towards the flight of FPS Blackhawks. The Captain nodded and continued.

"Looks like we'll have some help from the FPS too. We'll try and patch in to their frequency but until then, ready your weapons and prepare for dismount."

Handing the mike back to his RadioOp, CaptainwarriorMonk Gopp unslung his NimzoniaAssaultRifle, checked its magazine and readied himself at the door of the Transport chopper.

Below, the carpark to the Government Office rushed up to meet them as the pilot brought his machine in low for the combat drop.

"Alright boys, prepare to settle down. Lead bullets only. Snipers, stay in the choppers, take out armed personel. Medics, try not to get too involved in the fighting. People, remember, keep fatalities to a minimum." said the captain. Bringing the chopper to the ground, he waited for a few seconds for the troops to load off, and then took back off into the air again.

The plan was simple. The normal troops, which were now helping police on the ground, had automatic weapons with lead bullets. The medics would stay back, helping any injured cops. In the air, the blackhawks and snipers would take out anyone armed with a gun (if possible). The apaches, in the meantime, were flying a wide loop around the area, looking for snipers or RPG troopers.

Once the staff of the government building had been pulled out, of course, the military (with the cops, if possible) would re-board the choppers and take off, going to wherever the leaders were heading.
___________________________________________________________
Sergeant McRoy jumped off the chopper, and immediatly rushed into the main building. In the back of the lobby some civilians were being ushered out by cops, and the rest of the police force was simply firing lead bullets at the crowd. The rest of the troops filed in after him, and they started spraying lead bullets into the crowd. They wouldn't be able to hold out very long, and once the leaders had been evacuated, they would simply make for the roof for evac.

As his men fired at the crowd, McRoy looked around, and finally located a police captain. Walking over to her, he nodded in greeting. "Sergeant McRoy, FPS Marines. How can we help you?"

As he said it, one of the blackhawks overhead started transmitting messages to the tune of "Disperse immediatly." Of course, some empty threats were made each time, but anyone would know that they wouldn't simply start shooting at the crowd.

Another explosion rocked the Government Sector as a rioter detonated a bomb, and Harry Barker brought up his arms to protect against falling debris.
"That one was closer," he said, taking refuge behind a police car, "If this carries on, there won't be any government offices left!"
Peterson, who was crouching behind the same car, and taking potshots at the rioters who were appearing from various alleyways.
"Sir, at this rate, there isn't going to be much of the city left either," he said, firing a burst from the rifle. Barker reloaded the pistol, and fired a couple of shots overthe bonnet of the car. Angry bullets recocheted from the car as he ducked behind it again.
"Sir," Peterson yelled over the noise, "Can we just get out of here. Leave it to the FPS and Glephians, sir!"
"Peterson, I will not be evacuated when I can do something about this! It wouldn't do any good for the other nations to see the People-Appointed Leader flee!"
Peterson loosed another few bursts from the rifle, and Barker heard a yell. Then Peterson swore.
"Molotov!" he shouted, meaning a rioter had thrown a molotov cocktail.
"Run!" Barker yelled, making a break from the car. Bullets thudded into the metal of the car, and skimmed past his face terrifying close. There was a loud crash behind him, and he looked around, seeing the flames from the molotov leaping up from where it smashed. Peterson followed quickly, firing the rifle. Barker dived into an alleyway, and Peterson took cover.
"Pass me the radio!" Barker ordered, "We need those Glephian and FPS troops here. The rioters are all over the place!"

Peterson gave him the radio, and he set the frequency to the helicopters circling above the Government Sector.
"FPS and Glephian forces! This is the People-Appointed Leader! See if you can get some forces all around the Government Offices. We're not evacuating just yet!"

He gave the radio back, and reloaded the pistol again.
10-03-2004, 14:07
CaptainWarriorMonk Gopp leapt from the chopper, his WarriorBrothers close behind him. The Chopper took off quickly, clearing the way for the next one. Shouting above the noise of rotors and automatic fire, Gopp started giving orders.
"Brother Zim! Take half the team and hold the main entrance of the Government Office!"
"Yes Sir!"
"Brother Pez, you come with me! We need to locate Mr Barker!"

The explosion of a Molotov Cocktail snatched at the Captain's attention.
"Over there Sir! In the alleyway!"
"Good work Pez! Right, you others, with me!"
Grabbing the mike from the RadioOp as they ran towards the alley, Gop made contact with the second and third team.
"Second Team! Support the FPS inside the building! Third Team, try and set up a more secure perimeter on the otherside of the Office!"
A sweaty Rioter jumped from the cover of a stack of barrels, a second Molotov grasped in a dirty hand. Without breaking his stride, Brother Pez shot the Rioter in the chest, punching him backwards, the Molotov exploding in a blast of petrol heat.
Running through the flames, Gop reached Barker and Peterson.
"Greetings from His Highness The GrandGleph, Mr Barker! May You Shine Continuously!"

Sergeant McRoy, hearing the transmission, swore. "Team three with me, the rest of you continue hold off the rioters up here."

He and five other men ran off through the back of the building. Immeidiatly spotting the people appointed leader, some police officers, and some other troops, McRoy ran over. "Alright, guys, spread out. Prioritize armed personell, but continue using rubber bullets."

Grabbing his radio, he continued. "We should have chopper support in a moment...Captain, I need one of the black hawks over here, maybe one of the apache's too."
____________________________________________________________
Captain Renkerson, hearing thet transmission, flew his blackhawk around the building, and started circling the crowd. Both snipers began firing immediatly while the minigunners waited. They had no targets...shooting real bullets at the crowd would simply be too dangerous. But then another thought occured to the captain.

"All choppers, this is Renkerson, have your minigunners switch to rubber bullets. Those miniguns fire fast enough to spray the crowd into submission for a few seconds, at least."

In the back, he heard both his miniguners start switching ammo. They still had the snipers firing real guns, so any armed personell in the crowd would be taken out, but now the minigunners would have something to do at the same time.

Daniel Beal, the President of Power and War, walked into his office.
"Sir!" said Secratary Catlyn Dean "We have a message from our ally Free Rebellion, it appears as though they have had a riot going on in their nation for awhile now"
"Why wasnt I told of this?" the President ask angrilly
"Well uh it appears as though your Vice President thought that he could handle the situation, sir" replyied the Secratary.
"Well I'll take care of him" The President said.
"Meanwhile, send in our newly devoled riot control soldiers equiped with tear gas, buzz batons, shieids, armor, rifles, and our new stun plasma grenads, lets see what are boys can do."

Later that day,Vice President John Lewis was found dead. Cause of death appears to be suicide.......(ya sure suicide)

Harry Barker looked up and saw the helicopters go over, firing into the crowd. Screams went up and panic ensued, the rioters milling around in temporary chaos. Barker ducked behind the wall again as bullets ricocheted from it. Peterson returned fire, and then ducked behind the wall as well.
"Blast. I hope those are rubber bullets," Barker said. Suddenly, the Glephian CaptainwarriorMonk was beside him.

"May you shine also," Barker said formally to the greeting, "So whats going on on the other side of the building? Are the government offices still empty?"

Austica

Through the clouds of black smoke over the city 21 Chinock Helicopters, escorted by Blackhawkes and Merlins fly into the city, then split up. 10 of the Chinocks head for the Austican embassy, the other 11 fly to the Government administration building. The choppers touch down, and despach a large force of nearly 200 soldiers of the Royal Marines of Austica.

"Commisioner Sally Tyne" Brigadier Sir Gregory Moore called out to a uniformed women with a gun and a radio in hand.
"Yes" she replied, not recognising the Brigadiers insignia
The General saluted, "Ma'm I'm Brigadier Moore of the Royal Austican Marines. We come to assist you in putting down the riots in the city. We are 200 odd strong. Others are making there way through the gardens. We will use all force neccessary to put down the riot. Also, Whilst hear I will do as you say"
The Commisioner looked relieved.
"Ma'am, theres one other thing. I am intructed by His Majesty the King of Austica to inform you that an Ocean Class Amphibious Aircraft Carrier is off the coast. I can have up to 800 troops here in one and a half hours - just give me the word, and I'll hit the panic button. Also, if the situation balres out of control, the King will provide asylum for your head of state aboard the Aircraft carrier."

"OK Men lets get started, man the lines alongside the police" the Brigadier shouted. The local police looked somewhat surprised as the soldiers appeared alongside them M-4 Carbines at the ready, with smoke grenades in the grenade launchers.

Will you require the 800 troops???

1000 Power and War riot control soldiers landed one mile away from the city. As they marched they listened to the radio contact being made by the soldiers already fighting int he city.
"Its gonna be one heck of a ride" replied Privet Martin
"Shut up you Privet" replied Major Jones.
As they nearded the city the team split up in to 3 groups. 300 to attack the middle,350 to hit the left and the remaing 350 to go right.
"Yes Sir" replied the troops.
As they nearded they were suddently ambushed by about 100 rioters.
Armed with shotguns. Faced with no option the troops pulled out thier newly devoled riffles code named Ma5b assult rifles. In a matter of minutes the attack was over.
"I hope Free Rebllion understands are options" Jones.
Marching through the city they had more abushes but were resolved with only 100 casulties(not ours). As the sun was setting our scout came back with the news that news that the leader was less than one mile away.
Sargent JOnes looked at Martin and said "You know what to do"
"Yes Sir" came the reply.
Privet Martin loaded his S2AM Sniper Rifle and headed towards the location.
As he came into fireing area, he aimed his riffle armed with 14.5 mm. Armered Piecing Fin-stabilized discarding sabot rounds. Aimed,,,,,, Fired,,,,,,And in a burst of orange and red the leaders head was gone.

In Reisz, capital city of the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka

ARCHDUKE PHILIP IV: Damn it, Robert! What's with all these rioters sprouting up all over the place? How do they think burning stuff is gonna make their lives better?

COUNT ROBERT WERTER (Foreign Affairs Minister): I can't read minds, my lord.

ARCHDUKE: *sigh* Well, we'll do what we've always done. Send in a brigade of marines. Show those rioters that we will not stand for anarchy and disorder.

GEN. PETER EARLEY (Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff): Actually, sir, (if I may cut in) with one brigade of infantry held up on Viraath Dol and another on Ermanskiiy, we don't have the necessary transport to send an entire brigade to Free Rebellion. We have the manpower, but those transport choppers that we've ordered haven't come through yet.

ARCHDUKE: How many can we send right now, Peter?

EARLEY: We can send about a company at a time. When those choppers come in (God knows when...), we can really start unloading troops, but right now, we'll have to suffice with small units...that is, unless someone can volunteer to transport our troops over to Free Rebellion. (ooc: *winkwinknudgenudge*)

WERTER: I'm on it.
[code:1:c410629413]In need of transport planes to help put down mass riot in Free Rebellion. Request enough planes to move a brigade (~3000) of infantry plus supplies and attached troops.[/code:1:c410629413]

ARCHDUKE: We'll proceed with what we have right now. Peter, send a company of marines in.

EARLEY: Yes, sir.

From orbit the Dark Side of Motherworld Earth was the figure of something moving, slowly, and releasing what seemed to be a space shuttle out of a dock area. Gliding effortlessly towards Earth, the shuttle used its retro-jets to manuver itself into a good re-entry position. Then, suddenly, it was clear. The Sun of Earths Solar System lit up the hull of the shuttle, clearly that of the Buran Space Shuttle, yet it was modified for much more.

As it entered the Atmosphere, it would exit over the Nation of Free Rebellion, where its cargo of Two Battle Walkers, both 24 feet tall and currently being carried in a compact position, would assist anyone with these riots.

The Hull of the Modified Buran began to light, then it became brighter, and brighter, and brighter as super-heated gases turned to plasma from the friction of the Hull against the Atmosphere.

It would take time, but some Colonial Marines and two Battle Walkers would soon be there to assist.

Harry Barker took potshots at the odd rioters that came near the alleyway where he was sheltering, being careful to aim for legs and arms unless the rioters were armed. Peterson was crouched nearby, firing rifle bursts into the more dangerous groups of rioters, dropping several.

"We can't hold them, sir," Peterson said, reloading, "There's too many!"

Barker put a bullet into a rioter's leg who was carrying a lethal looking machete. The man stumbled, then fell, and grabbed his wounded leg, a grimace of pain on his face. Barker looked at Peterson.
"There seems to be thousands of them, but at least we have some assistance from so many nations."
Peterson made a noise that sounded unconvinced.
"And with so many of them, this will be a lot more violent than we hoped it would get."
At that moment, there was yet another massive explosion somewhere near the Government Offices. Barker actually saw bodies fly through the air and slam into the milling crowd and pavement. The very street shook, causing Barker to nearly fall over. He swore viciously.

"What on Earth was that? It sounded huge!" he yelled over the noise of people screaming, gunfire, and falling debris.
"I can't tell from here, sir, but we're really going to have to move!"
"Why?" Barker demanded.
"Because apparently some of those rioters have recognised you from your public speeches, and are heading this way!"
Barker looked up. Indeed, a large amount of armed rioters were heading for the alleyway. Barker stared in horror, and then made to run down the alleyway. Peterson fired a few bursts into the advancing rioters, and then followed. Bullets zinged past their heads and into the surrounding buildings as they rushed down the alleyway.

"Where are we even heading?" Barker shouted.
"Vesdton Park! It's open, and has plenty of cover. No doubt that's where all these other nations are landing their troops, and we might be able to find some sort of order."

Barker swore. Vesdton Park was a few streets away and the alleyways were full of rioters. Just as they turned a corner, they stumbled upon a woman backed up against a wall by a thug with pierced everythings, and a nasty-looking knife.
"L-leave me alone!" the woman was saying, apparently not noticing the two government officials. The thug leered at her, spinning the knife in dirty hands.
"Come on, the thug snarled, "just hand over your money, and I'll leave yer alone."
The woman shook her head frantically, and in doing so, saw Peterson and Barker.
"Help me!" she said, visibly shaking. The thug turned in surprise, and seeing the two men, hurriedly grabbed the woman and lifted his knife to her throat. She screamed.
"Get lost," the thug spat. "Or I'll do it!"

Peterson stepped forward, and the thug glared at him.
"Stay where you are!" he shouted. Peterson looked calmly at him.
"You don't want to do that," he said coldly. The thug scowled.
"Yeah? Who says?" he said.
"I do," Peterson said in a low, dangerous voice, and took another step forward. The thug immediately tried to push the woman away from him, slicing her side with the knife as he made a break for it. She slumped to the ground. Peterson swiftly brought up the rifle, and fired a short burst into the man. He dropped, blood pooling onto the pavement.

Barker rushed over to the woman, and looked for the wound.
"It's not a deep cut, I don't think. Can you sit up?"
"Maybe.." the woman said faintly, trying to sit up. She gave a gasp and shuddered.
"I don't think I can walk," she said, sounding frightened, Barker looked at her kindly.
"Don't worry," he said, "By now we should have medics at the park. We'll help you get there."

He picked her up gently, and she gasped.
"Lets get to that park," he said, and they made their way along the alleyway as there was a burst of deafening gunfire from the Government Offices.

Tag: Crowd Control

In response to your inquiry, the forces that will be sent will not be firing at whomever they feel like shooting. They will be sent for peacekeeping, crowd control, and anti-riot purposes. However, due to the fact that many of the rioters are armed (and not with just simple handguns), our forces must be allowed to carry live ammunition to deal with armed threats. For normal riot control, though, our forces will be decked out in riot gear, truncheons, smoke grenades, and guns w/rubber bullets. Be assured that Monte Ozarkan forces will not use deadly force unless absolutely necessary for self-defense.

Bullets hit the hull of the Modified Buran Space Shuttle, inside everyone could hear the deflection of the bullets off the armor. Calm, steady, almost as if they didn't notice, the Co-Pilot nodded to the Battle Walker pilots, signaling for them to get in quickly. It would be quick drop, landing the two Battle Walkers would be hard with rioters.

All eighteen Colonial Marines suited up, some Komodren and some Birthright Human. They loaded their weapons, suprisingly similar to a M-16. Few of the Marines had extra weapons, all had Rioting gear just-in-case it wasn't THAT bad. However, from the sound of the angry bullets flying and attempting to break through the Shuttles armor, most of the Colonial Marines took the hint and put as much body-suit armor as possible, along with weapons and ammo.

Major Dantu Tak'Oi was one of the Battle Walker pilots, he heading for the back of the Buran Shuttle, stumbling as what seemed an RPG round impacted the Lightweight Titanium Hull and armor. Continuing, he opened a metal door and entered the Walker Storage Bay, seeing his walker in its crouched position and going to stand infront of the pilot area. Pressing a button, the frontal hatch opened, downward until the Pilot Seat was somewhat Visiable.

Climbing the hatch, he sat in the Pilot Seat, strapping in and putting on his helment, pressing a button that made the hatch close. As it did, the head visor, or what looked like the head of the Battle Walker, slid back down to close on the once-opened hatch, cealing Dantu inside safely.

Hearing the sounds of his Battle-Mate's Battle Walker hatch and head closing, he pressed a comm button, showing the head of a Komodren Male, a Humanoid Komodo Dragon type being that was the native lifeform in Ancient Rudavia along with Birthright Humans. Noticing the the comm's panel moniter filled with the face of his Battle-Mate, the Komodren named Gurat'An nodded as he put on his specially fitted helment, the top fitting comfortably over the top of his snout.

They were ready, but landing would he hard. Soon enough, they would be there to assist.

The rioters serged in once again. Through the smoke and flames, watching Barker run for the park, WarriorMonk Captain Gop grabbed Pez.
"Ok. Tell the others to fall back to Vesdton Park. We'll back up Barker as best as possible."
"Yes Sir! What about the Government Office!?" There was a second mighty explosion and the shattering of windows. A flight of helecopters of one nation or another thudded overhead.
"I think we've lost the Government Office!" Gop yelled back. "There's too much going on! we'll head for Vesdton Park!"
The small squad of Glephian WarriorMonks set off in after Barker and Peterson.

"Who were they!?" yelled Zim.
"Gods know! The world and His wife seems to have come to repress the rioters..." the RadioOp shouted back.
Another explosion shook the building, just as the radio crackled to life.
"Fall back to Vesdton Park, I repeat fall back to Vesdton Park..."

"Alright, guys, fall back. We need to get to Vesdton Park...that seems to be where their setting up the HQ." McRoy said. Suddenly, a man ran up to him.

"The building's surrounded sir. There's no way out." the soldier said.

"WHAT?" McRoy yelled. They had stayed behind to cover the retreat of the police officers and other soldiers...only to be trapped. "How long can we hold down here?" he asked.

"Not long sir. They seem to have RPG's and automatic weapons." the soldier, who seemed to be a corporal, said.

"Damn...ALL TROOPS, FALL BACK TO THE UPPER FLOORS. MEDICS, GO TO THE TOP AND LOCK THE ELEVATORS THERE, TAKE THE WOUNDED. EVERYONE ELSE RETREAT UP TO FLOOR THREE AND COVER THE STAIRCASES." As the sergeant ordered it, the medics grabbed what wounded they could (helped by a couple of troops) and took the elevators up. The rest of the troops started moving up using the stairs.

When he reached the third floor, McRoy ordered his men to start firing rubber bullets out the windows, and to keep a few men inside the stairwells to stop anyone from coming up. Walking over to the corporal, he asked for the radio. "Captain, we're currently holding all floors above, and including, three. We're not yet in an ammo crises, but we are trapped sir. Any orders?"
____________________________________________________________
Captain Renkerson swore. "Trapped." he repeated under his breath. That certainly wasn't good. "Sergeant, have your men continue holding for as long as possible. We'll keep firing on the crowd outside. If you start running low on ammo, tell us ASAP, we'll drop some in. Untill then, just keep holding. We'll see if we can get you out of there."

Ok ignoreing my last post,(up to the point of the leader dying)

As the troops marched throught the city, they were faced with more and more attacks from the rioters.
"Sir, I dont think we can hold them we have lost 200 troops in the 5 days that we have been here"
A privet yelled before a rioter snuck up and slit the privets neck.
"Johnson" Yelled Sagent Gordon
"Get up here with that radio"
"Yes sir"
"Send out a mesage to President Beal that we are gonna nead some serious back up" Replied Gordon

Back at the Capitol of Power and War, President Beal was sending out the command for 50 Black Hawk hellicopters to go out and help the troops.
"Also send out our crack team of Covert Ops to go in and find the President of Free Rebellion and bring him back here for a safe house."
"If he has any of his cabinet with him or anyone else let them come with you to the exttraction point."He ordered.

The 50 Black Hawk hellicopters and their crew could see the smoke comming over the horizon of Capitol City.
'Ok men were gonna go ahead of our ground troops and try to make it easeir for then to cross the city" The piolet said.
They landed in a open looking spot in the city ahead of the ground troops.
As the soldiers got off the helicopters, they were ambushed by 50 rioters.
As the helicopters tried to leave 3 of them were destroyed. The troops who made it of took shelter from the rioters by the wrekage of the 3 choppers. The fire fight lasted for 35 minutres. Their orders were to go to a secluded spot in the city and wait for the ground forces.

Later that night, the Covert Ops were deployed. They parashuted into the city. Their oblective: find and make sure the leader of Free Rebellion was in no harm and to bring him back to Power and War for safe keeping. I am not going to finish this beacause I am not sure if Free Rebellions creator is ok with this or not I would like it if he would answere this in his next respone.

Sally Tyne swung her rifle into the unprotected face of a snarling rioter, and then brought it up to jab into the stomach of another. All resemblance of order had vanished, and it had turned into a fight to escape for the Free Rebellion police force. The Austican military was doing it’s best to hold back the ever increasing tide of rioters, but it seemed all the forces were being pushed back towards the Government Offices. The building was damaged on two sides, from the huge explosions earlier. Police Officers rushed all over the place, staying in small groups for safety. Even so, Tyne saw a police officer get shot, and collapse into the crowd. Another police officer tried to pull him to safety, but was trampled by the crowd. It was definitely time to retreat to the building. Tyne knew some foreign soldiers were already inside, and with so many nations with forces in the area, they might be able to defend it. She hurriedly shoved her way through the crowd, tearing her uniform on the way, before ducking behind a large, overturned truck. She wrenched her radio free from her belt and called Barker, hoping he would pick up.
“This is Peterson,” the General’s voice answered. He sounded as clam as he usually was.
“It’s Tyne, where’s the People-Appointed Leader?”
“We’re escorting wounded. He’s carrying an injured woman.”
“We’re pulling back to the building. We’ve sustained heavy casualties, and even with so much military, the sheer number of rioters is pushing us back.”
“How many nations do we have here?” Barker’s voice said in the background.
“Countless,” Tyne replied, “it’s chaos!”
“Retreat to the building,” Peterson ordered, “and hold it as long as you can. Do not remain there needlessly. If it turns into a real battlefield, get to the roof and get evacuated. If you are forced to retreat from the building, head for Vesdton Park, got it?”
“Got it,” Tyne said, and clicked the radio off. She rushed into the crowd again, shouting at the police and the militaries of the many nations.
“Retreat to the building! Retreat! Retreat!”

OOC: Power and War, as to your question as to that last post, Barker is staying in the country. As leader, he doesnt want to leave until he absolutely must. But your troops are welcome to fight the rioters. Please don't stop the rebellion yet though, thanks. As for the question about the government offices, they are an eight floor Octagon shaped structure, with two square blocks on the East and West sides. The roof is wide and flat and has plenty of space to land two helicopters. An enormous garden surrounds the building.

McCoy looked at the corporal. "Okay, we hold here as long as we..." He didn't finish. Suddenly, down the hall, one of the staircase doors opened. McCoy hit the deck, and turned his weapon on the door, as did everyone else in the hallway. He was about to shoot when he saw it was police officers, not rioters, coming up. "HOLD YOUR FIRE." he yelled, running over.

He pulled the first police officer (OOC: This can be your main cop or anyone else Free rebellion) to the side. "How many officers do you have with you?" he asked. Partially to see what help they could provide, and partially to see whether there was enough room to evacuate them on the blackhawks. Of course, if there wasn't...

The riots seemed to becomming more intense by the minute. Several soldiers of the Royal Austican Army and the Free Rebellion Police Force were injured. Medical posts set up to treat the wounded were being overwhelmed by rioters who saw that police and military were being treated and did everything they could to prevent it.
Brigadier Moore looked to Sally Tyne,
"Commisioner - I'm hitting the panic button - we need more troops!"
Tyne didn't argue, she just nodded.
The Brigadier pulled out his radio - "Base, this is Moore, Mayday - we are being severely overwhelmed by an increasingly angry crowd - need as many troops as you can spare, repeat, as many troops as you can spare!'

---
Meanwhile 2 miles out to sea, in the Amphbious Ready Group of the Royal Austican Navy. Onboard HAMS MAGNIFICIANT an Ocean Class amphibious carrier.

Eight Chinnock Helicopters began to warm up. Four Apache Longbows also warmed up. Just accross, Magnificiant's sister ship ROYAL OAK warmed up another 4 Chinnoks and four AV8 Harriers for protection.

Admiral of the Fleet Lord Melville stood in khaki uniform in front of the Marines, "OK men, its time to get in and help pull and end to this situation. Your rules of engagement arer to use all force at your disposal to prevent the current lines from falling back towards the government building. You are to gain ground. Red team will set up a major police unit at the Austican Embassy which has been evacuated. We will share this facility with the police of Free Rebellion. Use as much force as neccessary to put down these riots.

---

Brigadier Moore looked over to Tyne.
"Commissioner, I'm having your leader and his security advisor airlifted to the ROYAL OAK. We will set up a command post onboard. Also wounded can be transported aboard as well for proper treatment - They are being killed in these field hospitals!"
Tyne looked as though she was going to argue the point, but then nodded agreement.

Moore organised the evac on his radio, just as a Merlin overflew the crowd, Machine guns blazing against hostile targets. The chopper moved towards the alley way before droppin repel crews into an alley way. The soldiers approached the Peoples-Appointed Leader of the Free Rebellion, Harry Barker who was carrying an injured women. Barker looked stunned as did Peterson who raised his rifle to the soldiers. The soldiers, all from the 23rd Royal Welsh Guards lowered there weapons, and the platoon leader pointed to the flag on his arm patch - the Austican Flag. Barker looked suddenly releaved. A medic of the Welsh guards took the injured women, and the team lead Barker and Peterson, to a small common nearby Vedston park, where a Merlin helicopter lowered down and took onboard the team as well as Harry Baker, General Peterson and the injured woman

---
15 Minutes Later

Between bursts from his M4 Carbine, the Brigadier Moore listened to his radio, before smiling.
"Commisioner Tyne!" He called, "I can confirm the Peoples appointed leader Mr Harry Barker is aboard the Austican Navy ship HAMS Royal Oak, and is recieving treatement for cuts and abbraisions"
Tyne smiled.

On the outskirts of the city

CAPT. BANKS: Our orders came in. Several nations are already in the city or on their way. They're arriving with the heavy weapons that can deal with the armed mobs safely. It's better for us... won't be our asses on the line when someone fires into a hostile crowd. Anyways, while others are taking care of the mobs and securing personnel, we will secure key facilities to make sure that those idiot mobs don't manage to tear everything down. Wendham, take the 1st Platoon and secure the power grid control center here *points on a map* about 3 miles east of where we are.

1ST LT. WENDHAM: Yes, sir.

BANKS: And you--Pall, take the 2nd Platoon down just south of the power grid control center to the main power plant to the city.

2ND LT. PALL: Understood, sir.

BANKS: Forney, you and the 3rd Platoon will defend the water purification center here *points again* just south of our current position. Evanskey, you will command the 4th Platoon and make sure no one causes havoc at the main water pump west of the purification plant.

2ND LT. FORNEY & 1ST LT. EVANSKEY: Will do.

BANKS: I guess I'll follow Lt. Pall down to the power plant and set up my command center there. Oh, and make sure to tell everyone to load rubber bullets in the guns. Don't shoot anyone for real unless you're in imminent danger, and then only shoot to incapacitate, not kill. Full riot gear, everyone. Heard it's ugly in there.

EVANSKEY: Any reports on the level of disorder and resistance in the city?

BANKS: *chuckles* Heh...from all reports, the state of the city can be summed up with one word--CHAOS.

With that, the various contingents of the Company A dispatched themselves to their various assignments.

The Modified Buran Space Shuttle opened its side-bay doors to the Battle Walker Bay, two Battle Walkers boosting out as RPG's and Live Bullets missed their targets, one hitting inside the Bay, but no serious damage. As soon as that was over, the bay closed and the Buran Shuttle boosted up to find a safe place to release the Colonial Marines.

The first Sledgehammer class Battle Walker began to turn its torso as it stopped its Emergency Boosters, saving the fuel. Major Dantu Tak'Oi firmly gripped the two control sticks, pressing both feet on the two pedals, much like driving a futuristic car. As he did, pressing a button and igniting the charging sequence for both Microwave Lasers, a humming noise became louder and louder, the Cannon end lighting up somewhat as the Microwave Emissions began to be magnified to deadly force.

Just as three RPG's were launched, Major Dantu pressed the fire button again on one of the control sticks, the Cannons redish orange glow suddenly stopping, then a beam flew forth throughb the incoming RPG's, destroying them, and through a small four-men Rebel Militia, killing them. The end of the Cannon Arms released a huge amount of steam, coolent being flushed into the cannons.

"Alright," began Dantu to his Battle-Mate, the Komodren Named Gurat'An, "Lets head out, find whomever is actually not shooting as rebels, and get finished."

Looking at the main screen and seeing his Battle-Mates Battle Walker do something of a nod to acknowledge his transmission, they began to go forth towards a badly damage building.

Captain Arthur Whitestone of the Adornian Marines watched impassively as a large group of rioters ran past the gate towards the huge melee near the Free Rebillion Government Buildings. He turned to look at his XO, Lt. William Hood.

"Hey, Will, we getting any trouble from the rioters?"

"Some, sir. A group of them is trying to scale the back wall, but I sent a squad to take care of it."

"Get on the horn to Central Command. I want to be able to help out the Free Rebillion Government if anything goes really wrong here. I don't think those explosions bode well..."

He glaned down the street, watching as a giant 'mech tromped through a group of rioters, ignoring the bullets richocheting of its armored hide. Apparently there was some sort of firefight going on down there...Whitestone made a desicion and turned to Hood.

"Get ready to deploy E Company in the Blackahwks..we're going in."

"Yes, sir!"

Meanwhile, a helicopter on the roof is busily loading up civilian personnel for evactuation.

He smirked, responsing to his Battle-Mate at once. "Well you could say I stomped a few and left some more crying, but other than that I have-.....Wait, I see something, an Embassy with Rioters around it."

Heh, remember these are People, only the ones firing are enemies.

"I know," he responded as the screen flickered off, he returned to the main visor moniter, "I know..."

Quickly he locked on to the Blackhawk on the building, zooming in to see it loading civilians, then zooming out and locking onto the crowd. Some of them ran immediety at the sight of the 24 Foot Tall machine, others began to fire, which would be intern shot down. Finally, a building not-so-far away released eight RPG rounds, too late to counter the Sledgehammer type Battle Walker used its Emergency Jets to turn quickly at the incoming rpgs, it firing its own set of King Viper missiles, six in all, and unloading beams of Microwave Lasers that destroyed the building, but not after the RPGS hit the Sledehammer Battle Walker, causing damage to a knee, another having extreme luck and entering the right Cannons enterence and exploding on contact at the end of the barrel, causing the entire arm to explode and thrusting the SledgeHammer Battle Walker backwards as the rest of the RPG's hit, the last two causing the Missile Pack to detonate prematurly and cause extensive damamge. The Entire right side of the Battle Walker seemed ripped off, battle damage was indeed a reality.

Major Dantu Tak'Oi moaned in slight pain, waking to feel the Battle Walker on its back. Checking systems for major failures, and only finding two weapons were offline and some minor systems, he initiated the boosting jeets and was self-righted back on his feet. He had to save the fuel for the Emergency Jets for later, as this could easily happen again.

Looking at the forward visor moniter, or atleast the head of the Battle Walker that could be seen from the outside, a targeting reticle scanned the area. It was nearly empty, some forces for Comrade Brethren nations moving about, none taking into consideration the Battle Walker, while some nearly stopping, but continuing anyway.

Major Dantu sighed, he had lost his right Arm of the Battle Walker, the right Microwave Laser Cannon, and the King Viper Missile pack, which incidently cause some damage to other minor systems. Luckily, the armor did its job elsewhere, minor "bruises" was the only thing he had to describe it, so it really needn't be thought over three times.

Pushing the left pedal with his left foot down, the right pedal with his right, the Battle Wakler, body and all, turned as its legs slowly moved to twist it in a direction. The building where the RPG's had come from was destroyed, luckily, yet he had to watch out.

Sighing again, twisting the Battle Walker back to the course he was heading for, going in front of that embassay, he pushed down poth left and right pedals and throttled the Sledgehammer type Battle Walker forward at a moderatly slow rate. He was in no specifi rush, and as he grasped the control sticks, releasing the pressure on the two pedals to sit back, he needn't overdue this Battle Walker, just in case it was damaged more than the system allowed its pilot to think.

Harry Barker stood at the doorway of the Austican helicopter, looking down at the huge milling crowd and gunfire raging back and forth. He held onto a bar to keep himself in the chopper as it swung back and forth, avoiding the countless helicopters and shuttles of various other nations. he was pale and tired, and looked at the destruction around the Government Offices.

"Tyne is in there still!" he shouted over the roar of the helicopter. Peterson, strapped to a seat, nodded.

"Yes sir, I know. I told her to make sure she got evacuated before the building falls."

"I was hoping it wouldn't!" Barker said angrily, and then grabbed for a more secure handhold as the helicopter swung aside, narrowly avoiding a fired RPG. Barker swore several times.
"Where did the people of Free Rebellion get hold of THOSE?" he said incredulously. Suddenly, he saw two huge armoured walkers moving heavily through the crowds of rioters. Barker was shocked. He hadn't seen anything like that in any military before. Even Peterson showed surprise.
"Pilot!" Barker yelled, "get us over to the Government Office. I want to get in there and find my police chief!"
"No, sir, that isn't possible!" the pilot shouted, "the landing zone's under way too much fire. We'd be shot down a long time before we got there."

Barker saw a building nearby to the Adornian embassy erupt into flames, and people scatter in all directions.

"I am not leaving this sector of the city until my police force is out of there!" He said, "Now put us down on that building!"

Sally Tyne shook her head at the FPS soldier, leaning against the wall.
"I don't know how many police there are. We suffered many casualties in that retreat to the building. I'm gathering them all to the fifth floor. It's the least damaged, and we might be able to hold off the rioters from the windows."
The FPS man nodded and went about organising his troops as Tyne tried to get some kind of order from her officers, but many were wounded, some seriously. Medics ran tirelessly all over the main hall, tending who they could. Tyne sighed, and then flinched as there was a crash of falling debris and breaking glass as another RPG fored at the building.

It was time to get to that floor and set up the defense. There were a lot of police officers and various militaries of other nations heading up. She set her jaw, reloaded the rifle, and followed them.

OOC: No problem on the late reply Free Rebellion. Just one thing though..I'm the only one with troops still inside the government building. So it's whatever officers you have and my 60 or so military personell.

Sergenat McRoy, for the first time that day, actually allowed himself a small smile. Thus far, two of the black hawks had landed on top of the building, and the majority of the wounded (and all but two of the medics) had been lifted to safety. The remaining two medics and six or so wounded were on the eighth floor, in an inside office to keep from getting hit.

Everyone else was on floors five or six, firing at the crowd or firing down the staircases. Many of the troops had stopped using rubber bullets, but here and there (especially at the staircases) the troops were still using them. And the chopper miniguns, of course, were still blasting away with them.

As he watched, another two black hawks came in and landed above him on the roof. He could duly hear the medics loading the final wounded on. Looking around, he found the police officer he'd talked to earlier. "Mam, I'd suggest you start sending your less experienced officers up to the roof to be evacuated. We can hold here while your evacuated to the FPS embassy."
__________________________________________________________
Captain Renkerson swung his black hawk around, allowing one of the snipers to shoot an RPG toting civilian out of a window. In the distance, he watched as the group of six more Black Hawks passed the two already leaving.

Looking towards the government building roof, he watched as the wounded were loaded onto one of the chopers, and the two medics ran back inside. One. chopper took off (fully loaded, with the snipers that had been inside it now on the roof, along with the four from the other two choppers). As he watched, the two sinpers from the other chopper, still siting on the roof, jumped out and took cover.

Grabbing his radio, Renkerson hailed the chopper. "Why the hell are you still sitting on the roof?" he asked. "And why aren't troops being evacuated into you?"

"No idea, sir. The medics said some police officers should be coming up in a minute for us to evacuate. Untill then, we're sitting." the pilot of the blackhawk said in response.

"Fine. But pull off if the fire your taking get's too hot."

OOC: Free Rebellion, I'd suggest just having your cops comply. The troops are trained specifically for this type of situation, they'll be fine. Their job, actually, is to make sure your officers get out. So untill your gone, their there.

Major Dantu Tak'Oi kept the Battle Walker at the steady pace for soem time, his Battle-Mate had joined back up after settling down a small riot somewhere else. In front of the two Sledgehammer class Battle Walkers was a severly pissed crowd, bullets were being fired, but, luckily, so far no more rpgs. Dantu's Battle Walker wouldn't take much more from the RPG rounds that hit him earlier, blew off the Battle Walkers right arm with a lucky enterence to the arm cannon.

Letting a soft grumble escape with a sigh, Dantu stopped the Battle Walker, his Battle-Mates Battle Walker stopping just beside his. The Comm Moniter came to life with the face of his Komodren Battle-Mate, looking kinda worried.

You sure you're Walkers fine? Few more heavy hits and your down.

"Thanks for reminding me," responded Dantu, laughing silently, "I'll be okay so far as we don't bump into any milita-.....Oh shit..."

Oh Sh-....oh.....I got it too, what the HELL is a T-72 Tank doing here?!

"I don't know," started Dantu, shocked, "But it sure as hell seems like Rebels are in control of it."

Getting a signal, DAMN, their aiming at us! Let's get to work!

"Roger," Dantu replied, the Comm moniter cutting off, "Now how the hell did they get one of those...."

Dantu's Battle Walker began to move side-ways, the upper-torso still aimed at the tank. Gurat'An, the Komodren, started firing his pack of King Viper Missiles, only to have his Battle Walker be shot by a T-72 round, the Titanium Armor doing its job of keeping the Battle Walker together. With a grunt, the Komodren Battle Walker Pilot growled as he pressed the button to fire the Microwave Laser, both arm cannons having one and both charging, the humming sound growing louder and louder as the Microwave Emissions were being magnified to a deadly level.

Seconds later, after se second T-72 Round was fire, but missed, Gurat'An pressed the fire button again, firing the Microwave Cannon, which released a red beam of Maginified Microwave Emissions at the T-72 tank, literally causing it to explode from the intesity of the microwave emission beam.

Sighing, both Battle Walker Pilots began to move the Sledgehammer clas Battle Walkers into a slow pace, forward, to check if any more "suprises" needed to be taken cared of.

Intelligence reports that the rioters within the city have taken up heavy arms against fellow peacekeeping forces. President Barker, do we have a riot or a rebellion on our hands? When the populace resists our attempts to make peace and order, endangering and now actively seeking the lives of our troops, what are we to do? I speak for all nations currently engaged in Free Rebellion when I ask for (and require) new instructions. We cannot continue to act as riot police when the rioters cause havoc behind the gunner's seat of main battle tanks. Do we have permission to put down the riot/rebellion using all means necessary? A prompt reply would go far to contain the disorder and minimize casualties, both of our troops and of the civilian population.

Homestar saw more birds go down, one by one. It was like if they where being pulled out of the sky. As he looked down the street he saw rioters in tanks and one mobile aa gun.
15-03-2004, 05:59
Five T-72 Tanks and Three T-90 Tanks, this was getting out of hand. Such weaponry shouldn't be in the hands of rioters, so this was indeed a Rebellion. Dantu suddenly got the feeling that he might not make it back, why he had this feeling he didn't know. After a long silence, a short communications conversation with his Battle-Mate ended with Dantu saying, "May We Die with Honor, Friend."

Both Sledgehammer class Battle Walkers moved forward, Dantu's fireing its left arms Microwave Cannon to damage some tanks, destroy one. Gurat'An fired both Microwave Cannons on both Arms, firing the last salvo of King Vipers, and unloading his machine guns.

Firing relentlessly at the tanks, one T-90 managed to get a direct hit, blowing Dantu's Battle Walkers leg into an akward position. He was now Immobilized.

Gurat'An, in the few seconds that followed, opened a transmission to his Battle-Mate, whom looked pretty bad off. "Brethren Dantu," started the Komodren Gurat'An, "I believe we may have no choice but to die in Honor."

Dantu Laughed, Indeed Brethren Gurat'An, and do me a favor and tell my beloved Serita that I dearly love her, and always shall. A loud explosion, the screen crackled, but Dantu Continued, It was an Honor serving with you, you were like a brother to me. Good-Bye, Gurat'An.

The moniter went static, Dantu's Battle Walker went up in a huge fireball. Gurat'An realized that the explosion was the result of Dantu firing the last shot he could from the Microwave Cannon, it over-heating and blowing up. With a silent bow of his head, the Komodren continued to destroy several tanks, heading for the AA gun with medium damage.

Lieutenant Commander Greg Jackson of the Royal Austican Navy, radioed back to the ship from his Merlin Helicopter.
"The Peoples Leader of Free Rebellion wishes to be returned to his building to be with his police chief..."
The pilot waited before saying, "I see"
He then looked back to the President Barker, "I'm sorry sir, I have been told not to risk the safety of the helicopter, or you, we will proceed.
President Barker argued, insisting that he had to be with his police chief.
Jackson radioed the carrier.
"President Barker?" He finally began, "A helicopter is being sent to pick up Commissioner Tyne. Our forces will take command of ground forces, and you and Commissioner Tyne can command from the carrier".

---
20 minutes later aboard the HAMS Ocean
-
"President Barker, welcome aboard", Admiral Matthew Clarke greeted
The two exchanged handshakes.
"Your Excellency, I have been informed that your Police Chief, a miss Tyne is presently aboard a Merlin Helicopter inbound. THey are over the sea as we speak, and their ETA is approx 2 minutes - I'm told Tune is not happy at being extracted.

---
Meanwhile on the ground.

Brigadier Moore appeared to be making ground, however at a cost to the rioters. Many had been shot, as they attempted to overrun the marines.RPG's were fired, however Austican and other multinational special forces were routing out the RPG rioters.

In the last two hours the multinational force had pushed the rioters four metres back away from the building. Snipers have been set up in surrounding buildings. Those carrying any kind of firearm, or RPG, were shot dead upon sighting. Riot police were moving in from the left, in a baton charge. Reports were coming in from the back end of the riot, that many were running away - retreating.

Moore ordered helicopter gunships to patrol the skies and watch over the rioters. The gunships entered the city within ten minutes.

Was the rebellion collapsing...

1. Austica, how the hell did you land on the top of the government building? I already had two choppers sitting there, you woulda had to get one to take off and such...rping that wouldn't have been such a bad idea.

2. Okay, how the hell would they get tanks? You realize how much a tank costs to create, transport, and use? There's no way a bunch of rioters would get one! Unless Free Rebellion has an absense of weapons laws, of course, but somehow I think he should be the one to judge that.

WarriorMonk Captain Gop put his back against the bullet riddled wall and lit a Glephian cigarette. The city was choked beneathe clouds of smoke from countless fires. He inhaled and blew out his own contribution to the fumes.
"Hell Pez... One minute it was just us and the FPS, the next minute, these guys...Where did they all come from?"
"Beats me, BrotherCaptain. The place is a war zone now."
"It sure got way out of hand..."
A few streets over, the throb of FPS choppers marked the roof of the Government Offices and the crack of rifle fire from the rioters ebbed and flowed. The RadioOp, listening to his set, shook his head.
"It's madness BrotherCaptain. If we could some how work together..."
"Yes. I know. But instead, everyone seems to be locked up in their own little worlds, doing their own thing." He inhaled and exhaled again. "Listen, try and get into contact with Barker. He's the guy that can bring us all together."

Harry Barker shook hands with the Admiral sullenly. He was not happy at having been ousted from his own country by the milling crowds of various nations, although he realised they were trying to help. That didn't make it annoy him any less though. The Admiral turned on his heel and walked along the deck. Barker followed him, supposing they were going to discuss strategy. Suddenly though, his radio chirped.
"Barker," he answered. A voice came through, apparently shouting over gunfire.
"Mr Barker. This is the Glephian WarriorMonks. Do you copy, over?"
"Yes, I copy. You're sounding a bit faint though."
"Where are you?"
"Aboard a ship off the coast of Free Rebellion. Not by my choice. If I had been listened to, I would still be in that building. They've extracted my Chief of Police too." He gritted his teeth.
"Is this a riot, or a rebellion?" the man asked bluntly.
"The entire of Central City's west and central sectors is rioting, but so far, there doesn't seem to be a reason. Let's call it a rebellion."
"The rubber bullets aren't working, Mr Barker." The man sounded almost chiding. Barker sighed. He didn't want to make this decision.
"Live fire is now authorised," he said, fully aware that many nations had already been using it, "but only with people you really cannot subdue with rubber bullets. If the situation escalates any further, you may use all force required."
"We understand."
The radio clicked off, and Barker reignedly followed the Admirial.

Dantu crawled from the smoldering ruin of his Battle Walker. Somehow, someway, the last tank round to hit his Sledgehammer class Battle Walker didn't do its job of killing the pilot. Moaning after he felt a sharp pain in his leg, not too serious pain, he strongly felt that his Battle Walker did its job of protecting its Pilot, its armor keeping together till the last moments when the Battle Walker slammed to the ground.

He truthfully thought that he was dead when he awoke, obviously not because he could still feel the light breeze.

Walking slowly towards a nearby building with but a Pistol loaded with live rounds, Dantu Tak'Oi flopped against the sturdy wall of the building, sliding down to sit against it. He was tired, but still able to fight, un-afraid of the open even as it was still dangerious.

Gop sat quietly, waiting....

Having decided that it was high time for action, the first contingents of the 1st MEF rolled into the center of the city. The strategy devised concentrated in decreasing the level of violence within the Central City. Using the capital building as the central focus, the marines would move, block by city block, to flush out, disarm, and (if necessary) detain rioters. Moreover, all traffic between cleared and uncleared areas will stop until hostilities have ceased and some semblance of order has been restored. This way the riot can be systematically contained and cleared.

A small recon force of HMMWV's scouted ahead of this first contingent, noting and clearing sniper nests and pockets of resistance. Behind followed a company of 6 M1A2 Abrams tanks, ever vigilant for more armor that the rioters have somehow acquired. Further behind followed 2 companies of infantry transported within Bradley fighting vehicles. As this little caravan wound its way through the city streets, randomly fired shots rang off of the armor of the vehicles. The rhythmic firing of the machine guns mounted on top of the vehicles also sounded, as amid the sporadic fire, the troops inside wondered how well they would be able to handle the situation once they were outside on foot.

As the soldiers mulled over the upcoming battle, the intercoms within the vehicles sprang to life and crackled out the report from the scouts ahead.

"Alright, men, recon reports that rioters are, for the most part, scattered here and there. Nothing too major. There now and then you'll run across snipers hiding in buildings. Sweep hi-lo and corner to corner. No one goes running off somewhere new alone. Work within your individual teams and squads to clear out the buildings. Remember to always keep moving. Use deadly force when absolutely necessary. Sometimes a good dose of intimidation will do the same job as a clip of rounds. Thoroughly scan everywhere. We don't want any nasty surprises coming from our rear. Recon also reports that a large mob of rioters have surrounded the executive building and are storming to get in. Free Rebellion and other foreign defense forces cannot hold out for much longer inside that building. Good thing we're heading over there right now. When you get out, assemble in good order and keep your wits about you! Good luck, gentlemen. ETA 2 minutes."

As this mechanized column emerged from the street onto the square in front of the executive building, rioters around the building ceased all activity for a few moments to stare at this new force. The M1A2's positioned themselves around the building so as to cover all possible routes of entry for enemy armor and other weaponed vehicles as the Bradleys encircled the crowd. HMMWVs from the recon company sandwiched themselves between the tanks and the Bradleys to fill in the gaps. As all units fell into position, loudspeakers mounted on the Bradleys announced to the crowd:

"We are from the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka. Your government has called on us to help restore order. We mean you no harm, but if fired upon, we will fire back. Please place your weapons on the ground and kneel on the ground with hands behind your heads. We will not fire if you comply."

A murmur of dissent rumbled through the crowd. They were outgunned, but they had already broken so many laws. At this time, the hatches to the Bradleys opened, and the two companies of infantry inside stepped out, backs against their Bradleys, to face the crowd.

Now decidedly outgunned with little if any chance of escape, the crowd, one by one, dropped its weapons and slowly brought their knees to the ground. However, just as everything seemed to be going well, a fanatic in the crowd armed with an AK-47 turned round and aimed and fired his rifle at the infantry. As he had no formal training in firearms, the shots flew wildly off-target. However, he was still an armed threat, and 4 shots rang from the soldiers' M4's. Two of those shots found their target, hitting him in the shoulder and lower abdomen. His weapon forgotten, he writhed on the ground, clutching at his wounds in pain. Several more rioters brought their weapons to their shoulders but not before all the infantry had already brought their rifles to a firing position and yelled at them to freeze and desist. Deciding that getting shot was a bad thing, the rioters once again dropped their weapons and fell to the ground.

As the soldiers advanced carefully through the crowd, picking up weapons, the loudspeaker blared again.

"Free Rebellion and other personnel: we come from the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka at the request of the Free Rebellion government to help quell this riot. We have secured the area around your building. We request entry into the building, and you may come out. All wounded personnel can be airlifted or loaded onto our vehicles to get medical treatment."

Gop brought up his binoculas and zoomed in on the Government Offices.ç
"What's taking these guys so long to evacuate the building?" he mused. The FPS helecopters were still on the roof of the building and there hadn't been any real activity for some time. The crowds of rioters, directionless, were not making any focused effort to take the building, but who knew how long that situation would last?

There were also confused communications coming in over the radio that the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka had finaly suppressed a number of rioters, but at what location exactly was still to be determined. Additionally, there was a rumour that Harry Barker had been hijacked and taken to an aircraft carrier. Another rumour told of the use of powered walkers somewhere in the city.

That the situation had quickly gotten out of hand was clear. The city was, in parts, a war zone. Parties of over armed soldiers from a multitude of nations were running around, or flying over in helecopters or driving rough-shod through the streets in tanks and armoured personel carriers.

WarriorMonk Captain Gop sighed and lit another Glephian cigarette.

The Kingdom of Austica will provide all hardware available upon request.
Commissioner Tyne is now also aboard the ship.
If you need anything, let us know.

A control room has been set up aboard the HAMS Royal Oak, for Mr. Barker and Commissioner Tyne, as well as supporting military staff and Austican support staff. Austica wil set this up with state of the art command and control (communications, intel etc) equipment. Barker and the Free Rebelion Administration will be able to use this control room to command Free Rebellion forces.

The Admiral led Barker into the control room, where they met Captain Henry Kayne. The Captain saluted Barker before shaking his hand. "Welcome Aboard the HAMS Royal Oak sir, my staff will assist you in your mission, and we shall assist in the removal of rebellion in Free Rebellion."
The Admiral pulled Barker aside - "This Telegram just came in from my King, Robert II of Austica"...

WarriorMonk Captain Gop turned, just as Brother Pez lowered the unconcious body of the battle walker pilot to the ground. "BrotherMedic is on his way," Pez said, propping the pilot's head up on a backpack.
"Looks pretty bad. He come out of one of those walkers?"
"Yes BrotherCaptain."
"Ok. Well, I guess nothing's going to happen in the Government Office. We've just picked up reports that those Austica people have somehow got Commissionar Tyne out and on board their ship."
"When did that happen, BrotherCaptain? I thought Tyne was still in the Government Office?"
"And so did I. It just seems everyone is most eager to have their Nation recognised as the one that brought this riot to a happy conclusion."

The BrotherMedic appeared and began tending to the battle walker pilot.
"He's going to live, BrotherMedic?"
"Yes BrotherCaptain. I believe so. In fact, he's just waking up."
"Ok. Let's see what he wants to do."
17-03-2004, 15:56
Before moving over to the pilot, WarriorMonk Captain Gop took a hold of the radio mike.
"Brother Vim? Do you copy? Over."
From the WarriorMonk's Team Two, Brother Vim replied.
"Copy you BrotherCaptain, over."
"Vim, you and Team Two try and make some sort of contact with the FPS guys in the Government Office. They've been waiting for some kind of transmission, but they're just not getting any replies. see what you can do."
"Roger that, BrotherCaptain. Vim out."

A street away, Brother Vim lead his ten man team off at an angle to the Office building. Finding the underground carpark was easy enough. Lying in front of the barricade were a number of dead rioters and manning the barricade were some of the FPS troopers asigned to hold the building.

Signaling their intent to enter, Vim lead his men quickly across the deserted street, up to and through the barricade. Nodding briskly to the barricade's team leader, Vim headed up the stairs and into the Office building proper.

At the fifth floor the team of WarriorMonks came up to the large crowd of policemen awaiting evacuation. Pushing on up, Brother Vim spotted the FPS Commander, bowed and saluted.

"BrotherCaptain Gop sends his greetings sir, and wonders if you could inform us of your intentions. We ourselves are unsure of the current situation and, as nobody else seems to want to cooperate, were wondering whether your forces and ours could work something out?"

"We've received no instructions from our government or theirs...were pretty much just going to try to hold this building for as long as possible. Not that it'll be hard. The main rioters moved on about ten minutes ago, must have gotten sick of us. There's only about a hundred down there now...hell, we were able to re-secure the building."

He turned back to the warriormonk. "What about you guys? What are you planning?"

ooc: FPS--actually, i meant for my units to quell the riot outside your building, but since you already rp'ed it w/someone else, i'll just make it some other building.

also, i'm up for the planned attack.

ic:
Sporadic gunfire erupted as the squads of the Monte Ozarkan forces advanced into still unquiet territory. Since the initial subdual of the rioters around the executive building, Monte Ozarkan forces have fanned out. As of now, the greater part of eight companies of infantry and 3 companies of tanks have entered the city and have commenced sweeping the buildings for hostile activity. So far, thirteen whole city blocks have been cleared. Tanks guarded vital intersections, as the accompanying infantry got out and rooted out all threats. HMMWV's routinely patrolled areas as of yet uncleared, constantly on the lookout for a buildup of hostilities. Attack and reconnaisance helicopters buzzed overhead for an aerial perspective.

Various other foreign contingents were found in the advance of GDMO forces. A section of Monte Ozarkan forces met up with a contingent consisting of Free Pacific States and Glephian forces. The Glephian forces had apparently just dispelled a mob outside and relieved the FPS troops and FR police holding out inside. GDMO commanders granted these troops free roam within our lines, as well as the offer to pull out to rest while our forces continued to expand the "safe bubble" in the middle of the city.

The process was slow but ground was being gained a block at a time, and soon, all those who caused the disturbances will have nowhere to run...

Dantu opened his eyes, feeling quite weak as he blinked slowly, getting his vision ajusted. Groaning at the confusion that was going away slowly, his began to remember that he fell somewhere near another Nations military. Looking around he saw some kind of medic and a commanding officer.

"Damn," Dantu started, "We were to help get the rioting down and all of a sudden RPG's and tanks and, ouch...."

He held his head, thinking a bit too fast for his current situation.

"How is it going on you guy's front? We have limited ability here since Outposts on Earth are some ways away, but do have men and supplies."

He shook his head.

"I still can't believe I survived, though....."

OOC:

Okay, a couple things I need to say.
1. Do you have any idea how much a tank does to a street? Three companies full of 70 ton machines.....Free Rebellion, your going to have to spend about 300 million repairing the damage done. And the tanks sweeping buildings.....
2. I meant to say that your men forced the rioters outside the building to run. Rioters don't just put up their hands and surrender...mob mentality. They'd just keep attacking. As for them having nowhere to run....their civilians, not rebels, no clear sides. After awhile, they'd just go home.

I don't want to be too insulting or anything, but this is getting a tiny bit out of hand, don't you think? It's a large riot, and were sending in tanks and bombers!
Monte Ozarka
18-03-2004, 23:40
ooc:
about the bombers...well, don't blame me. i didn't send any bombers in. why would i want to level the city. my tanks, however, are there for defense. the tanks aren't sweeping the buildings. the infantry in the BFV's are. the only reason why tanks are in the city is b/c of reports from other forces of t-90's (or 72's or whatever) that had opened fire on their forces. let's face it: a BFV stands little to no chance against a 120mm shell. the tanks are doing nothing except protecting the infantry from armored hostile threats. i'm aware that the tanks are tearing up the roads, but, well, sorry. i'll help FR repair them afterwards.

i'm also aware that the mob will just run. i'm not naive enough to think that my forces can just completely catch a mob by surprise every single time. (i stretched it a bit in the beginning by saying that the initial shock of seeing a column of armor froze them to the ground.) however, many of those whose homes are in the areas that i've cleared will stay behind. would you leave your home and all your possessions open to foreign forces just so you could riot (homeless and without a place to rest, no less)? as for the purpose of "clearing" the buildings... my purpose is not to quell the riot, per se. it is to take dangerous weapons out of the hands of rioters so that they can be controlled and subdued by more conventional riot police and such. automatic and sniper rifles and t-90's really help put police forces at a disadvantage. those citizens behind my line of advance will be unarmed, of course, eliminating much of the danger for FR police. not to mention, my forces will constantly be on patrol to make sure nothing major breaks out again.

while many rioters will run, the number of places that they can run to keeps on diminishing. eventually, they'll run into more FR and foreign forces. they can't fight everyone. the noose will tighten, and they'll be trapped and will eventually have to lay down their weapons.

in short, i'm trying to turn this from an armed riot into a plain old regular riot. (hope this clears up some things)

The newly proclamed Dictator (former President) of Power and War walked onto a lavish balcony and began a strong speech to his people. After it was over the crowd was cheering "Hail Victory".

" Great job" said a member of the counsil.
"Thanks hows the Riot going in Free rebellion?" He ased
"Well its about the same we have had some major breakthroughs though."
"Great like what" he asked
"Well 5 of the to leaders was captured last night and more and more rioters are being apprehended."
"Exellent" he replied.
"It will be over soon" he thought to himself.

Meanwhile in the riot city.
"Lets move!" yelled the commander
"We havent got all day the Dictator has issued a new proclimation to try and spped things up so we can go back to fighting Crystalbrough" He yelled. A few days ago they had called in to order a couple transport chopers to come in and move ahead to the capitol building to reach some other allies to fight with. As they arived the troops moved onto it and began their acent. In a matter of minuets they landed 1.5 miles from the capitol to try and avoid landing chopers on a fighting zone close to the capitol..

OOC: Apologies for late reply. My computer is very...temperamental. Sometimes I can't access the forums.

Police Officer Ransfield took a few potshots out of the window with his pistol, dropping a rioter or two. Alongside him, an FPS soldier fired a tear gas grenade. It blew up in a cloud, causing coughing, spluttering rioters to spread out. Suddenly, a high-ranking FPS official ran into the room.
"Free Rebellion police officers! We're evacuating you ASAP. Please make your way to the roof."
Ransfield turned and stared at the man incredulously.
"Are you mad? Leave the building? It hasn't even fallen yet."
"True, but you are untrained in this, and in danger."
Ransfield gave the man a glare, and stood to his full height over him.
"Untrained? We've had to deal with massive riots before. This is just bigger than the others. We're good cops, and there's no way we're leaving this building until it's secure."
A silence followed this, broken only by the sound of another grenade being fired into the riot.
19-03-2004, 14:54
WarriorMonk Brother Zim coughed politely.
"I think, Honoured Brethren, that we must make a final, concrete decision on what we are planning to do here in this building. We may stand here and argue till the ThirdComing but it will solve nothing."
A burst of gunfire rom the otherside of the building shook plaster off the walls.
"If the Police wish to stay and hold the building then, I believe, it is Their Honoured Right to do so. If the FPS wishes to evacuate the wounded, then they should do this. My BrotherCaptain has told me that he wishes to help hold the building."
Another grenade exploded and the silence ensued once more.

The Power and War troops marched throught the city they had already got the news that the area around the capitol had been cleared. So they aborted that idea. They decided to go out and find and secure all of the Gov. buildings in hopes of speeding things up. As they neared an Embassy(they couldnt tell witch one front was caved in) they began to go in teh 4 story building. On floor one they managed to sneak up on some of the remaing rioters. In a small firefight it was over in 10 minutes. After floor one had been cleared, they approched they stairs going to fllor 2. As they began their desent, they got some more rioters on the stairs. On floor two, there were more rioters than they expacted. It apeared as they were all preped for the fight. As it began 5 Power and War soldiers droped dead in the sneak atack. One man threw a plasme grenade and took 20 rioters out. One hour later the 2nd floor was cleared and as they searched the next 2 floors,it apeader as thought all of the rioters had came down from the other floors to help in the assult. After coounting bodies,50 P&W soldiers were dead and 175 rioters were dead.
"Wow" said Prvt. Martin "Thats the biggest yet!"
"It could be the last yet" Jones replied.

Little did they know that less than one mile away 300 rioters(presumed later to be some of the last remaing left) were marching in to try and turn things around. AS night feel, they were all suronded the Embassy in 2 hours (1A.M.) they would attack.

Prvt. Martin woke up for no aperent reason. ( later his awake would be the reason for many soldiers lives.) As he whent to the bathroom, he looked out a window and saw what looked like hundreds of torches!
He hurridly ran to Comander Jones and told him about it.
"Wake everyone up,but try to keep it quite we dont whant the rioters to think we are awake!"
"Yes sir"

As Jones whent and found the com. guy he sent out a destress massage to all the Nations fighting in Free Rebellion
"Eurgent: Being attacked: Need help:could be last major battle: Coordinents 50"north by 80" west: END"

OCC: I know the Coordinents are messed up no need to tell me. But I am asking for help, could be last major battle so if you have troops to spare they would be welcomed.

Team One, we'll take one of the choppers over to assist P&W. Look frosty My Brothers. We could well have suppressed this uprising by morning."

McRoy nodded. "If you want to stay, then you can. At this point, I doubt were going to lose the building...in fact, I'd suggest we start moving to retake the lower floors. Monte Ozarka forces have already moved through the area, and most of the rioters have been disarmed. I get the idea we can take and hold the entire building now, not just the upper floors."

As he said this, he signaled Captain Renkerson the decision to hold the building, and Renkerson agreed immediatly. Outside, a few hundred rioters were still attacking the building, but now only about two dozen or so were armed, whereas almost all had been before Monte Ozarka came through.

"No problem" replied one of the Gleph soldiers
"How many men are guessed to be fighting us"? he asked
"We have estimated to around 300" said one the near by soldiers.
"No problem with both of our armies, nothing can stop us"
Just then a grenade flew threw one of the windows and detinated harming no one but exposing a large part of wall the all 300 rioters began to attack.

The WarriorMonks lined the windows of one of the front rooms and began firing as soon as they had targets.

Brother Pob slowly unslung his sniper rifle and walked out onto one of the balconies. Taking his time, the intense firing of the P&W soldiers mingling with the automatc bursts of the WarriorMonks NZ rifles, Pob lay himself prone and squinted down the infra-red sight at the crowds of rioters.

Picking out one of the ring-leaders, a woman waving a shotgun over her head, Pob slowed his breathing and slowly, slowly squeezed the trigger of his rifle.

The woman, half her head blown away, staggered, turned towards the building and collapsed. Her stunned companions, some of whom had been hit by pieces of her skull were quickly picked off by a P&W machinegunner.

Pob, still squinting down the sight, swung his rifle accross the seething mass of rioters, looking for his next target.

The Monte Ozarkan forces made their way through the city, block by agonizingly slow block. Rioters put up some patchy resistance, but most chose to run for it, deeper into the slowly enclosing noose. GDMO forces confiscated mounds of firearms and other dangerous weapons, as they disarmed potentially hostile citizens.

There have been around 120 civilian deaths, all incurred during combat action. One T-90 tank was sighted. The tank in question fired at a GDMO M1A2, which promptly returned fire. Although the T-90 was not destroyed, a shell lodged between the turret and the main body of the tank, completely debilitating the turret's ability to rotate. Another shell from another GDMO tank severely damaged the gear mechanism for the tracks on the left side. ALL FORCES BE ADVISED: Enemy tank with limited maneuver capabilities, though not out of action. Furthermore, GDMO forces have suffered 7 deaths, 3 of which came when a rioter detonated a grenade within the apartment that the Monte Ozarkan forces were searching. 3 soldiers and the civilian died, while 4 more soldiers were wounded. Besides the deaths, a total of 35 casualties have been incurred by the GDMO forces. 18 of those casualties were battle-related. No vehicles have been lost.

The 9th Armored Brigade has been transferred back to Monte Ozarka from Free Rebellion. The nature of actions within FR do not suit that of an armored brigade. In its stead, the 3rd Infantry Brigade has been activated and is currently reinforcing the 2nd Inf. Brigade, which has borne the brunt of all actions involving GDMO forces in Central City. Currently, 8 companies of infantry and 4 companies of tanks are on the advance. A further 3 companies of infantry patrol the interior of the cleared territory, making sure that no large-scale armed riots erupt again. HMMWV's, KH-1 Sparrow Recon Choppers, and KH-4 Raptor Attack Choppers continually patrol the area yet to be cleared for heavy and armored threats.

OOC: i'm so sorry if you actually read the above. it's late, and i can't think of anything new to write. i bet you had fun reading casualty reports...(<--sarcasm)

FPS Troops, having received a reinforcement group of 300 troops, and now numbering in total around 500 troops, have taken up positions covering nine vital positions around the city. Their plane, currently, is to hold these structures untill main forces of other nations can reach the areas these structures are in.

Currently, the following buildings have been covered by FPS and other nations:
5 Hospitals (FPS)
The Government Building (Gleph and FPS)
1 Power Relay Station (FPS)
2 Secondary Government Buildings (FPS)
1 Hospital (Power and War)
3 Power Plants (Power and War, I believe. Can't exactly remember)
Police Stations, Fire Houses, one hospital, and many other areas (Local Police Forces)

OOC: I'm terribly sorry. My browser apparently wouldn't open the forums. I have now obtained another one, and anyone who is interested in continuing this RP is welcome to. Could everyone still in this RP please let me know what their troops are doing? Thanks

ooc: welcome back! well, to the best of my knowledge, my troops have established/cordoned off a "safe zone" of sorts in your city, expanding outwards from the capitol building. they're currently stopped, as nothing was being coordinated. so, i'm still kinda waiting there...

Here's the latest.

This doesn't include the large area in which Monte Ozarka forces have pretty much quelled rioters. It also doesn't include some of the smaller buildings cleared by power and war.
