Completion of first Iuthian Submersible Carrier

After a spending a large sum of money buying the production rights from New Empire, Iuthia has finally completed it's own CVSN, the first of it's type in the Iuthian military.

It is hoped that all of the money spent building the multi-billion credit vessal has been well spent as it enter service for the first time for a long trial which will test the new Carrier to it's limits, Naval Experts are anxious to test the craft...

"The biggest worry of ours has always been the complexity of this new class of Carrier, its got alot of new technology on board that Iuthia has tested in laboritories but has never been tested on the field... whats more there are serious concerns about the noise it would produce due to the flat decks.

We have been comforted that this problem has been solved during development but we have yet to actually hear the thing..."

None the less Iuthia now has it's first Submercible Carrier and soon it will be named by James deGritz himself and then serve it's time for Iuthia.

OOC:: Note, this is not for sale and nor are the production rights... we don't sell technology nor do we sell ships. We aquired this technology via a good ally and we shall stick to our agreements.

The UCSNE and New Empire Navy congratulates Iuthia, and wishes the vessel and her crew best of luck. The Navy also assures Iuthia the carrier is perfectly seaworthy, and it has met all expectations at it's manuvers and sea trials during "Oceania Battleground", an assesment of UCSNE Naval and Air weapons. We hope you find the same quality in your service.

OOC: I expected as much, I just needed something to write, everything is messing up in my head resently and I RP is suffering today... so this is the manditory "Woah I have this cool tech" post...

Don't worry, we'll RP it working perfectly fine... though if you could advise us on the tactics off such a new vessal I would be pretty happy...

I usually have all my Carriers in a Carrier Battle Group with the normal vessals protecting it, you know:

2 Cruisers (CG) -- Air warfare (TBMD)
3 Destroyers/Frigates -- Surface and undersea warfare
2 Attack submarines (SSN) -- Surface and undersea warfare
1 Fast Combat Support (AOE) -- Replenishment
1 (Optional) Battleship (BB) -- Surface warfare

But I'm sure this would change when dealing with a submercible carrier... do I just have it along side some SSN's or does it work solo?

Just out of curiousity, where are the aircraft stored? I mean on a normal carrier, many aircraft are usually stored on deck. That doesn't seem like an option here.

Nice job, I believe that the Japanese tried something like this in WWII. Is there any possibility that we could aquire construction blueprints for this?

OOC: If I remember correctly, this Super Submarine is for sale outside a circle of his close Allies...

However...

If Iuthia wishes, Im willing to trade one of my Restricted Über Battleships

Size and Capacity-

The CVSN-91 uses a series of abseloutely massive ballast tanks to control depth manuvers. Those were only one of the technical problems faced by the design team. The CVSN-91 uses two 55 meter long flight decks, with electromagnetic catapults to save runway space. Six elevators are placed in the center of the main deck areas to save space for the huge MHD system that propells the sub up to 30 knots. small thrusters, or azipods, can direct the motion of the sub during extreme manuvers. The CVSN-91 has room for 200 fighter sized air and subcraft, usually split betwen the two. The CVSN-91 has the unique ability to house larger subcraft or smaller subs, allowing it to house the 30 ton SuperMantas or midget subs common in the New Empire Oceanic Territories.

Hattia: I'm afraid not, or at least not until I've had the chance to cover some finer details of my production rights. As I understand it New Empire only builds these for himself as it takes alot of time to build and they are still building their second one as we speak.

As for the production rights, well they were only sold to interested allies of New Empire, Iuthia is an ally of New Empire and we loved the design and the ideas behind it.

I dare say that there could be a chance that I may sell the vessals, but not the actual tech... that said we have the same problem that New Empire has, we cannot produce too many at once, one at a time is enough for us at the time and it costs alot... about $15'000'000'000 not including the maintaince we will have to pay as the years go by.

So we won't really have alot of these vessals... eventually we may be able to offer our allies these vessals, but I doubt it.

Crossroads Inc: Aside from my mild dislike of battleships we are unable to pass these vessals on to other nations... nor would we actually have another vessal to swap.

So no... sorry.

No problem. I'll see if I can design one myself maybe...

Iuthia-I need to remind you that there was a bit of a typo in the flight deck lenghts. The stats on my comp say 300m, I think I botched it up when I transferred it.

Central-During extended surface operations, aircraft are stored on deck. But the huge bay space of the CVSN-91 allows all craft to be stored internally if necessary.

How long does it take to get a complete squadron airborn after surfacing? How stealthy is thing while submerged, and when surfaced? What are its conventional armaments, can it defend itself effectivly?
