The Syracuse-class of destroyer is one of the pillars of the Juumanistran navy. The craft provides a versatile platform capable of many tasks, from interdiction of contraband to fleet support to planetary defense. The craft is perfect for new navies, while it can be fairly easily assimilated into existing navies. And her price tag is more affordable than most other exports in her class, such as Klonor s Prometheus-class light cruiser/interdictor.

Originally built on the abandoned keel of a Syracuse-class destroyer, the Hellespont-class carrier is designed to provide a cheaper means of deploying naval aviation than the larger Delphi-class. Juumanistra employs the Hellespont-class for planetary and system defense, as well as a rapid reaction platform in conjunction with the Syracuse-class destroyer. She is also capable of service as a frontline carrier for new navies or those who are on a budget.

Juumanistra s newest capitol ship, the Thebes class of battlecruisers offers something that the Navy lacked; a warship capable of holding its own against the big guns exported by Vernii, Klonor, and the other major shipyards. The Thebes-class of vessels is a well-armed and utilitarian platform, around which entire taskforces can be built, if there is the need.

Built from the ground up as the latter day gunboat, the Rhodes-class is another vessel that has seen limited use in the Juumanistran Navy. Originally conceived as a planetary defense vessel, it was optimized for engaging slow, lumbering invasion transports as they head for the atmosphere; it thus boasts fighter cannons for increased rate of fire against generally weakly armored transports and the only deployment thus far of the Hydra AARD system, as well as the distinction of being the only ship of her size(over 100m in length) that Juumanistra exports capable of atmospheric flight. However, by the time the kinks were worked out of the Hydra AARD and her atmospheric flight, Juumanistra s fleet was no longer in need of the craft, thanks to leaps in fighter technology and increased numbers of ships in orbit. The craft, however, has become a favorite among Juumanistra s law enforcement agencies, due to its unique munitions combination and its speed.

Weapons and Munitions [WEP-1]
Throughout the storefront, various weapons have been named. This details what they are and what is to come.

Fighter Guns [GUN-1]

Ion Cannon:
Range: 2400km
Penetration: 18cm
Refire Delay: .25 seconds
Stream Diameter: 5mm

The ion cannon fires a beam of accelerated electrons stripped from the byproduct of the fighter's fusion reactor before being ejected as propellent.

Neutron Cannon:
Range: 2800km
Penetration: 32cm
Refire Delay: .32 seconds
Stream Diameter: 5mm

The neutron cannon fires a beam of energized and accelerated neturons. It is powered by the stray neutrons generated by the fighter's fusion reactor.

Duel Blaster:
Range: 2800km
Penetration: 50cm
Refire Delay: .38 seconds
Beam Diameter: 8mm

The duel blaster is Juumanistra's next generation in weapons technology. It actually fires two particle beams within nanoseconds of each other; first an accelerated beam of electrions, followed by a beam of accelerated beam of neutrons. It is quite literally an ion and neutron cannon compressed into a single, more powerful gun.

Capitol Ship Guns [GUN-2]

Type VI Laser Cannon:
Range: 105,000km
Penetration: 285cm
Refire Delay: 2.6 seconds
Beam Diameter: 75mm

Type IX Laser Cannon:
Range: 125,000km
Penetration: 405cm
Refire Delay: 3.4 seconds
Beam Diameter: 175mm

Mark I Antimatter Cannon:
Range: 105,000km
Penetration: 350cm
Refire Delay: 3.1 seconds
Beam Diameter: 105mm

Mark II Antimatter Cannon
Range: 175,000km
Penetration: 850cm
Refire Delay: 5.4 seconds
Beam Diameter: 350mm

Mark III Antimatter Cannon
Range: 255,000km
Penetration: 3550cm
Refire Delay: 18.4 seconds
Beam Diameter: 880mm

Starship Defense Systems [DEF-1]

Soulkeeper Anti-Aerospace System
Round: 30mm DU
Range: 8000km
Rate of Fire: 1750 RPM
Guidance: Radar
Penetration: 75cm

A six-barreled gatling gun that serves as the primary defense against enemy aircraft for all Juumanistran capital ships. Each gun is self-sufficient, capable of operating independently from the ship s system if necessary.

Sentinel Point Defense Mass Driver
Round: 9mm spike
Range: 1000km
Rate of Fire: 2800 RPM
Guidance: Radar
Penetration: 6cm

The primary defensive system again hostile missiles and torpedoes. The Sentinel consists of a barrel roughly a meter long, in which a series of electromagnets reside. The weapon functions by inserting a 9mm spike into that breech and accelerated by the magnets.

Hydra Anti-Aerospace Rocket Defense(AARD) System
Munition: 2.75" rocket, w/2kg HEAM warhead
Rate of Fire: 60 RPM
Range: 5000km
Guidance: Radar/IFF
Penetration: 55cm

The Hydra system was designed as a cheaper alternative to the Soulkeeper system. The Hydra s rockets, while they lack a sophisticated guidance system, rely on a proximity fuse for detonation. Each possesses an effective blast radius of roughly thirty feet, allowing the system to score hits on craft even if it s not a direct hit.

Missiles [MIS-1]

Notes:
-HEAM: Standing for high explosive antimatter, the warhead features two chambers, one filled with an explosive(usually plastique or C4) and another with an equal amount of antimatter within a magnetic containment field(which is roughly 5-7 nanometers in width). Upon impact with the target, the two chambers are forced together, generating the explosive power of the round.
-Range denotes the effective distance that the weapon can be used at. Further limitations are noted.
-IR designates image recognition, not infrared.

SSM-1 Stinger
Range(effective/maximum): 13,000km/24,000km
Warhead: 18kg HEAT
Penetration: 125cm
Acceleration: 900 m/s^2
Lock Time: 0.8 seconds
Tracking: Infrared
Price: $2 million USD per unit/$130 million USD per 100

Juumanistra's first functional spaceborne guided missile. Crude compared to the more modern IFF and IR guided missiles, the Stinger is still effective in a dogfight. And, if push comes to shove, it's incredibly cheap.

SSM-2 Hawkeye
Range: 29,000km
Warhead: 27kg high-explosive sabot
Penetration: 375cm
Acceleration: 1500 m/s^2
Lock Time: N/A
Tracking: IFF/radar
Price: $6 million USD per unit/$450 million USD per 100

Juumanistra s current generation anti-space missile, which has been removed from frontline service by the SSM-4, but still remains in production due to its cheapness. Functional, reliable, and effective with a longer range and bigger warhead than the SSM-1, it s still a thoroughly capable munition.

SSM-3 Ogre
Type: Anti-shipping missile/subtorpedo
Range: 46,000km
Warhead: 42kg HEAM warhead
Penetration: 1900cm
Acceleration: 1160 m/s^2
Lock Time: N/A
Tracking: Heat seeking/full-spectrum IR
Price: $18 million USD per unit/$900 million USD per 100

The Ogre was Juumanistra s first operational missile capable of delivering a HEAM warhead. While it is by no means the most graceful or agile of missiles, the Ogre is a powerful stand-off weapon that can be equipped on a conventional fighter hardpoint.

SSM-4 Justicator
Type: Space-to-space missile
Range: 28,000km
Warhead: 12kg HEAM sabot
Penetration: 565cm
Acceleration: 2200 m/s^2
Lock Time: 1.1 seconds
Tracking: Full spectrum IR/radar
Price: $11 million USD per unit/$750 million USD per 100

The frontline missile of the Juumanistran Navy. It was designed from the ground up as a stand-off weapon, boasting a better range than the previous two Juumanistran anti-space missiles, as well as a more powerful warhead, thanks to the HEAM charge replacing conventional explosives.

Mark IV HEAMT
Range: 205,000km
Warhead: 145kg HEAM charge
Penetration: 16,500cm
Acceleration: 450 m/s^2
Lock Time: 14 seconds
Tracking: Full spectrum IR/radar
Price: $35 million USD per unit/$275 million USD per 10

Juumanistra's primary spaceborne torpedo. Somewhat cumbersome, but incredibly powerful.

Let us discuss first what other ships you have besides these, and if none, the price that this ship could be sold at a lower pirce, perhaps.

Nodea Rudav: Our spaceworks are still relatively new and, thus, we have produced a fairly limited variety of ships. Aside from our backbone destroyer, cruiser, and carrier, we are gearing up for the production our new Hellespont-class escort carrier, Thebes-class heavy cruiser, and Rhodes-class corvette, as well as our SF-7 Excaliber space superiority fighter and SF-9 Dragon heavy fighter. We only put up what could be bought "off the shelf", so to speak, as our capacity to produce each of what was just mentioned is rather limited. Should you be interested in any of those, specifics will be provided.

Our design team has gone back to the drawing board on the Delphi-class schematics. They believe that they can cut costs significantly with streamling production. They think costs'll fall somewhere in the neighborhod of 45%, bringing the final price tag of a fully-outfitted Delphi-class carrier down to $80 billion; $55b for the hull itself and the rest going to outfit the fighter wing. Our technology is fairly dexterous, so if you fly your fighters or have purchased htem from another vender, we're sure they will fly from the deck of a Delphi without too much hassle.

Massive update. Megara-, Rhodes-, and Thebes-class ships are up, as well as the SF-3B and Hydra AARD. Also finished panning out the defensive systems employed by all ships(mainly rounds stored per gun/missile tube). I've just about got things the way I had envisioned them when I first put this up two weeks ago. Yeesh. Price drops all around, as well, to reflect my failed RP attempts to raise capital to facilitate modernization. Did raise it IC thanks to the wonders of the Juumanistran economy and the savings are passed onto you, the paying customers.

And, on another unrelated note, I'd like to give praise to CSJ and all the other people who maintain those truly impressive modern tech storefronts(sorry to those whose name escape me; CSJ's name stuck simply because I've got his ground unit storefront bookmarked and use it as a starting point whenever I need to find some piece of existing American/NATO equipment). Okay. Given that no one ever reads this and I continually bump it into oblivion, I've got a few serious questions; anything that I can do to make getting around the storefront easier? Is the thread too hard to get around? Would a website make it easier or more effecient to do things?

On ships specs; too weak, too strong, too weird, bad pics, what? Is the lack of a full tech dump a good or a bad thing? Is there anything difficult to understand(such as starship range) that requires further explanation? Is there anything explicitly missing; I've gotten warships, fighters, and logistical "stuff" up, as well as weapon dumps; is there anything missing? Any new ship ideas worthy of exploring?

I'm a bit of a creative and R&D dearth; what should the storefront branch into next, given my ultimate aim is to offer something to everyone with regards to space, RL tech to super future tech alike? Satellites and conventional rocketry to cater to modern and near future tech nations? Satellite killers and orbital defenses? Fixed installations, such a space stations and fortresses? Or, perhaps, get a bit more nuts-and-boltsy, with exports of EVA suits and the like? Or should I just give into market forces and design some sort of superweapon and a 10km long invincible ship to carry it around and blow stuff up?

One Rhodes class corvette and two Galaxy class transports for 4.71 billion

I wonder if I might request that the vessels be equipped with better real-space engines in place of the FTL drives. As I assume the FTL drives are more expensive than normal engines, this should increase your profits.
Juumanistra
03-04-2004, 22:22
Well, I wish it were that simple. Part of the problem stems from the technology we use to propel our ships; one very unorthodox, the other almost clichély conventional. Our FTL drive is what is unconventional. In its operation, it supposes that in the infinite number of dimensions that exist, an infinite number of dimensions also exist in which the speed of all the objects in the universe, and indeed the universe itself, are identical and constant. The FTL drive then simply finds one and jumps to it, as conventional ships tend to jump to conventional hyperspace. For a more practical example, it's akin to searching for a river near your house with the current speed that you desire and then hopping in your canoe and letting the river do all the work of propelling you.

Our sublight propulsion, however, is archaic. It is, quite literally, all kick-and-coast. While our ships are able to accelerate for many hours, they're still fundamentally kicking until their propellant runs out. While scoops and nebula raids tend to increase their range, they're still in the same family as modern-era chemical rockets. Our scientists have dabbled in warp fields to help maximize efficiency, but we've never really had the need. With the launch of the JDS Midway, we may well consider conducting further tests.

Anyone, with discounts, rebates, and hospitaility, the total comes to $3 billion USD. The ships will be prepared ASAP and sent to wherever you desire. We merely need to know where.

Quite simple. Our export models aren't equipped with state-of-the-art engines. The upgrading equips them with what standard Juumanistran military vessels of the same class use. And, I said that they were fundamentally kick-and-coast based. They are not in fact actual chemical rockets. They're just a smidge more advanced than that.

Just got my hands on Disgaea. Yay.

If there's anything inherently wrong with the stuff listed, I'd kinda like to know. Or any other impediments to business, beyond the fact that future tech business is slow by nature.

So, Disgaea's officially taken custody of my soul, and I'm off be measured for the obligatory Prinny costume.

So I'll bump before I go and hope someone places an order by the time I get back.

With Techn's burgeoning space operations, we are in need of advanced space technology and vehicles posthaste. We thereby order two Delphi-class Fleet Carriers at the first time price of 102 billion.

Your order has been confirmed and is being outfitted for shipping as we speak.

Although, not to dare question a customer's purchasing priorities, we are slightly confused as to why you purchased two carriers without acquiring any additional logistical or escort craft. While the carrier is a powerful ship, without food, fuel, and protection, she is nearly useless.

WHat is bumping? By the way, we never got our carrier. Also, would you like to buy a Cruiser?
Juumanistra
01-06-2004, 18:27
Bumping is posting within a topic for the sole purpose of getting back onto the front page of the forum.

And, the last time we checked, it was a battlecruiser, not a carrier. And we were engaged in hostilities at the time; not exactly the best circumstances for one of us to be selling arms to the other. If you're still interested, kindly place the order again.

And we've examined the cruiser you've been touting and, while we admire your first commercial export, we currently have no need for any in our forces.

My fellow world leaders, I come before you at a moment of significant tumult in world affairs. The threat of aggressive, dictatorial regimes hangs over us more and more with each passing moment, and the time for a final stand has, I believe, come!

I am currently pursuing an aggressive campaign to stomp out the horrors of dictatorship in the Republic of Incisor by establishing a strong cener-left coalition. I have opened the diplomatic channels with Incisor and I am pursuing United Nations assisstance in this time of great urgency.

Together, the liberal world can finally send a message to the dictators that they will no longer be tolerated. That our ideals are indeed the moral choice and that they will never again threaten the stability and safety of the free world.

Please join me in this pursuit!

We wish to procure a Thebes class Battlecruiser for 45 Billion. Also, I'm itching for another war.... perhaps I could find some sort of catalyst.... And this time, I'd explain everything ahead of time.

Also, I have checked my national defense budget, And I have that much to spend and more.

Planetary evacution has never really been our forte. Though one could cram a large number of people into a carrier after stripping it bare.

As for the order, it will make a while to fill. It's going to take 8-10 years[using 1 RL day = 1 NS year] to churn out that many transports. Otherwise, the order is confirmed and we'll get cracking.
