The Half-Moon Goblins are seeking to modernize our outdated military. We seek weapons deals for modern weapons, tanks and aircraft, as well as trainers to educated our somewhat backward population in how to operate and maintain these craft. Payment can be in Gold or Squee's, as well as Goblin culteral items (knives, boats, gliders, whatever) for those interested in such things.

Thank you for your offers.

Sorry, Freethinkers, the items in your store seem rather expensive, but once our economy gets on its feet we will keep you in mind.

Samtonia, thank you, currently our army consists of just over 130,000 Goblins.
Production should not be a problem, Goblins are famouse for their hard-working engineers, who build with true zeal...and everything else within reach. ON second thought, send the blueprints and engineers. As well as the trainers.
How much would you request to train our army? Or perhaps you could trian trainers?

Could you possibly sell scaled-down weapons? Most Goblins dont excede four feet in height, and even that is rather tall.
While they are quite strong, simple size is a challenge, a pistol handles somewhat like a sub-machine gun, and our rifles are a bit unwieldy.

Certainly. The CAS can make modifications to the weaponry to fit your needs. You are the customer, after all...

The Dominion of Kotterdam greets the Half-Moon Goblins. Welcome to the international community. As a first-rate producer, designer, and exporter of high-quality military hardware, we make the following offer to your nation: Inform us of your requirements, and we shall attempt to fill them from our vast existing catalogue, with all prices reduced by twenty five percent. If you require something we do not have, we shall design it and that design will be produced for you at a fifty percent discount.

Furthermore, in exchange for your nation's friendship and perhaps the pursuit of diplomatic and trade relations, we shall offer full training both with our equipment and in the art of warfare, including access to our elite Salem's Field Armoured Combat Training Center, home of one of the finest combined arms training programs in the world. We eagerly await your response.
08-03-2004, 01:56
THank you.
We would like to request something capable of filling an assault rifle role, and something for a standard issue pistol, both must be small enough to be useable by Goblins, but large enough to actualy cause damage to a human.
Goblin engineers, weapon designers and technicians will be sent to aid you in this, if they attempt to blow themselves up, please, just send a letter informing us of their names and dont worry about it. Goblins are carless when blowing themselves up, but try not to kill anybody else unless their in battle.

Samtonian trainers could train trainers. As for the engineers, they will conme as well. What blueprints would you like? Once that detail is reached, our first offer will be put on the table. Samtonia would like to thank you for your consideration in this matter.

The Dominion is pleased to offer the Half-Moon Goblins a modified version of the Sturmgewehr-556 bullpup assault rifle.

Viking Firearms Sturmgewehr-556 (VSg-556)

In a response to a requirement by the Half-Moon Goblins, Viking Firearms has revived a weapon designed for a time when it seemed as if the Dominion would convert from its heavier 7.62x51mm rifles to the lighter, NATO-standard 5.56x45mm round. The Viking Firearms Sturmgewehr-556, or VSg-556 was the result of this project.

A modern bullpup-style weapon designed using advanced synthetic composites, the VSg-556 has been revived and undergone a moderate redesign to accomodate goblin physiology. It has been reduced in size beyond even the venerable M4 Carbine to no longer than 660-millimeters, but thanks to its bullpup configuration, it retains a barrel of 475-millimeters in length, allowing it to achieve accuracy similar to that of the full-sized M16A2.

Comparitively to goblin physiology, this compact weapon is the size of a full-sized M16, a managable, powerful, accurate weapon, even though some concessions had to be made to their smaller size. A forward vertical handgrip has been added to improve managability under full-automatic fire, and the rate of fire has been lessened from seven hundred rounds per minute to six hundred and fifty. As well, a three-round burst capability has been added.

Rather than iron sights, the VSg-556 uses a 3x magnification optical sight built into the carrying handle atop the reciever. As a further modification, the grip has been slimmed to fit goblin hands, but is long enough to fit a human hand, and uses a full-grip open hand guard to allow its operation by goblins wearing heavy gloves, or should it become neccesary, humans. The weapon is heavily modular, and the vertical foregrip may be removed and replaced by a 40mm grenade launcher if neccesary. As well, the ejection port may be switched from one side of the weapon to the other, making it truely ambidextrous.

Very nice, very nice indeed, we will take 7,500, for a total of $4,500,000. Would you like your payment in gold or Squees?
Kotterdam
08-03-2004, 05:17
Negative. The total price, including discount is $3,375,000 USD, not $4,500,000. Payment may be made in whatever form is more convenient. As well, Viking Firearms is pursuing a number of options for a handgun to serve as a sidearm for your forces.

Kotterdam Motor Company has also expressed a belief that existing armoured vehicles are so compact in their accomodations that with some minor alterations, Goblins could easily pilot MAFV-1 Bordens, LTA-1 Dieppes, and possibly even the mighty MBT-4 Thunderbolt Main Battle Tank. Should your government express an interest, the specifications of these vehicles are readily available.

We may have a proposal for a naval solution that could make us, Samtonia, and the Half-moon goblins all better off.

The Freethinker government will loan, free of charge, two Broadsword class frigates, as well as maintain them for basic running costs. We will also pay Smatonia the market rate, to train the necessary naval crews.

In turn, this will allow the Half-moon goblins to train their naval forces whilst their ecoomy grows. When it has reached the necessary strength, we will let the Goblins purchase the vessels outright, if they so wish.

This can be considered military aid. Is it possible to work an agreement?

Kotterdam: Ah, thanks for reminding me.
As to the tanks, we would be grateful for some stats. Goblins can man most tanks, but require one or two more men to operate. However, the tanks would be quite nice, as our current force consists of some 6,050 tanks, 50 of which are modern and dont work very well. The other 6,000 make wonderful anti-personel weapons but cannot take on modern armour except at very close ranges (IE: Within a meter)

Tanks? Try ours, we think you'll like the speedloaders, as opposed to snapping your spinal cords hoisting shells by hand.......

All reports state that goblins are strong of arm and back - Surely your uniformed men and women are not adverse to a little hard work in exchange for speed in combat. As well as being faster than any autoloader, a living loader on a tank means that the armoured fighting vehicle has a fourth man, besides the gunner, driver, and commander, to repair the vehicle in case of damage to treads, or other systems. Finally, the Dominion MBT-4 has one thing that Sileetris's vehicles do not - The Warhammer NVLS Active Intercept System, allowing the MBT-4 to destroy inbound Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, as explained below.

Notes
Designed to replace the stop-gap MBT-3A2 Werewolf II tank, the MBT-4 Thunderbolt was orignally intended to come into service as the next generation high-mobility main battle tank. A number of the systems intended for the Thunderbolt, such as the lighter, more compact 2nd Gen ETC cannon were available for the Werewolf II, but other integral systems, such as the lightweight, high-strength Tarpon Composite Armour and the NVLS Active Countermeasure System, codenamed Warhammer, were not. This resulted in the design and fielding of the MBT-3A2 Werewolf II, a tank that has served far and away longer than it was intended to. Thus, with the completion of the missing systems, the Thunderbolt has finally come into service. Lighter than even the dramatically reduced Werewolf II by three tons, the new tank's capabilites far exceed the old design's.

Weaponry:
The armament of the Thunderbolt parallels the Werewolf II in most particulars except for the coaxial weapons. Where the Werewolf II utilizes a single Oerlikon Contraves KBA 25mm Cannon, the Thunderbolt mounts two, one on either side of the main weapon. Designed primarily to tear through lightly armoured targets like APCs, they perform an admirable job of shredding whatever falls under their barrels. As has become the standard practice with Dominion armoured vehicles, the MBT-4 mounts a Rafael ADA Overhead Weapon System-25R unit for the commander's position, providing some protection for his exposed head, but more than that, granting him superb firepower in the form of his own KBA 25mm cannon, a 7.62mm machine gun, and a pair of Rafael SPIKE-ER ATGMs. As well, a pair of Anti-Tank Guided Missile launchers are mounted, one on either side of the turret, capable of using any model of Rafael's SPIKE missile.

As well, the main gun is capable of firing the new ATG-1 Mjolnir Anti-Tank Guided Missile. Known as the "Kermit" by the test crews for the odd "frog-hop" it executes in its anti-tank mode to attack the weaker top armour, the ATG-1 was developed in an associated project to be used specifically by the second generation Werewolf, and has been incorporated into the third-generation Thunderbolt. Lethal out to its maximum range of 6.5 kilometers, the ATG-1 is a dual-mode weapon, capable of engaging low-flying air targets such as helicopters as well as other armoured vehicles. Equipped with a stand-off probe to defeat wire mesh and chain skirt defensive systems, the ATG-1 also employs a tandem charge with which to counter Explosive Reactive Armour.

Defensive Measures:
The Thunderbolt truly begins to depart from the standard set by the Werewolf II with defensive capabilities. Along with an upgraded series of threat recievers, and jammers, the Thunderbolt carries the newly-developed Warhammer NVLS Active Intercept System. NVLS stands for Near Vertical Launch. It is a system in which no fewer than sixty of the improved Mjolnir Active Intercept Charges are carried in twelve vertical tubes stacked five layers deep. As a threat projectile is detected, a charge is raised out of its tube, oriented towards the threat using high-speed servos, and launched.

This allows far quicker response times than earlier systems, and a capability that neither the Triphammer, nor the later Sledgehammer systems had: The ability to engage up to twelve threats from twelve separate approach vectors simultaneously, rendering platoons of Thunderbolt tanks nearly impervious to ATGM attack. In addition, unlike previous Triphammer systems, the Warhammer may be implemented in manual mode to engage infantry. In this application, the charge is raised, oriented towards the concentration of infantry, and detonated overhead, raining shrapnel on them from above, much like a larger version of the air-burst weapon in consideration for the OICW.

As well, the Thunderbolt is equipped with the new Tarpon composite armour. Tarpon's exact composition is highly classified, however it is known to provide exceptional protection against ballistic threats marginally superior to that of the Werewolf II at an even greater reduction in weight. Capable of absorbing hits from 125mm cannons and the majority of anti-tank missiles from even shorter ranges from before, it also is expected to provide marginal protection from directed energy weapons, although due to a lack of such weapons to test this with, how much protection is unknown. A close range shot with a HEAT or sabot round is still as serious a threat as always, however. A chain skirt protects the turret neck from attack from behind, while ERA blocks and increased armour thickness reduces the danger of attacks against the tank's top surfaces.

Fire Control:
Equipped with a so-called AI similar to that in some of the more sophisticated computer games, the analyzer will actually learn the weaknesses of a specific type of target given enough exposure and is, of course, pre-programmed with the known weaknesses of many standard targets. Should the gunner become incapacitated, the commander may input a command to cause this analysis program to take over firing, with the commander designating targets, and the computer determining the best way in which to engage them.

Sileetris:
We would like to order 2,000 of your R503a Light Tank's and 6,500 of your Cheetah Light Attack Cycle.
Tanks: 4,000,000,000
Cycles: 942,500,000

Thank you, both of these suit historical Goblin tactics of hit and run, high speed and power for a lack of protection.

Kotterdam:
If it helps, think of Goblins as Dwarves with really oversized features, and green.
Rather expensive, but we would like to order 1000 of the Thunderbolts, for a total of 7,200,000,000. Does this discount apply to this purchase? Or only ones in which a system was actualy designed?

Auman:
It would be interesting. Have you heard of Vietnam, by chance?

No, the discount still applies. The actual price of your order is $5,400,000,000. As well, we again extend our offer of having your troops come to train at the Salem's Field ACTC. As well, we have a series of advanced tactical aircraft, ranging from utility, ASW, multi-role, and attack helicopters to heavy fighters. Anything you may require in terms of aircraft, we can provide. We also offer a range of naval craft. You need but to put forth a requirement, and we will make our submission.

Ah, thank you.
Well, for now I think I will settle for the items I have, I may be interested in more sometime later, but I think my budget is pretty much gone.
