Lamezville celebrates 1year of disarmament

07-03-2004, 13:52
Today Lamezville celebrated 1 year of being completely demilitarised. The people have rejoiced at being such a peaceful nation and education, along with industry, has improved singnificantly with its extra funding. We are on the verge of two major scientific breakthroughs as a result. We would like to think that other nations would follow in our footsteps and throw down their weapons to allow for a more peaceful world, free of war and threats, one in which we can all work together towards a brighter future, a Utopia.

"A substantial private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Soda Sales and Arms Manufacturing."

Are you sure?

Our nation is free and as of such people are free. The demilitarisation of our country is only a moral issue. In the early stages of the development of our nation we need as much money as possible and our people have found there to be a major market in arms manufacture. Our government is currently seeking to eliminate all accoutrements of war but we too see the great income that this produces. We would like to assure you that we choose very wisely the buyers of our equipment and it rarely produces anything more than police uniforms and firearms.

As we have stated, we are relying on the good will of our fellow nations to see that we are a peaceful, trading nation. However, should we be invaded it would only serve as to show that we need world disarmament even more before we all fall fowl to militaristic idealogies

Jennivier is pleased to hear such news from a second nation, however Jennivier has no intentions of ever doing the same thing. We do, however, offer our help to you should any state wish to infringe on this peace of yours. Such unprovoked acts of violence would not be taken lightly by the Alliance of Unionized States. We gratiously extend our hand in trust to your nation should any state attempt the invasion of your state, providing your nation continues to strive for peace.

We thank you Jenniver for you kind offer and we most graciously accept. We see the problem that may face us of larger, more militaristic nations attacking us and we would love to have this safety net. As we speak the primate quarters of our capital is being moved out of town to make space for your embassy.

This is good news. Currently Jennivier is occupied with diplomatic ties with its established allies, but this is minor. Jennivier should have no trouble establishing ties in your nation. May this be a sighn to all radical nations; we will tolerate unprovoked acts of terroism, and that peace always comes before war, for the positive is rarely derived from the negative.

We are pleased to see that we are not alone in our fight for peace (OOC: Oxymoron :? )

We thank you for your good-luck. However, it is our nations policy not to believe in good luck but in good planning that is likely to reap better rewards than luck alone.
