Crimson Privateers

Important Note: This thread is entirely OOC, I will expect serious work IC to get information held within this thread and not only that I would require you to know about the organisation as well before you can even look into the things here…

I will give you information IC if I feel you’ve earned it and I will work with those who try hard and respect the effort put into it.

I will cover this in greater detail later, but for the time being if you want to have any of this knowledge IC, be polite and ask me first along with how you are trying to acquire this information.

Thanks,

Pete.

An OOC profile of the “Crimson Privateers” – A Covert Mercenary Organisation.

Introduction: Welcome to my completely OOC guide to my new mercenary organisation, the Crimson Privateers. In this guide I will be covering the history and motives of this bold new organisation along with their layout and support. This is my first organisation (puppet that isn’t a nation in this case) and I will be working hard to make sure it is entirely legitimate in an OOC sense. It is supported by a nation in which it operates in, as well as tries to legitimately work its way into other nations.

In many ways they could be described as “terrorists” seeing as the term has become very common these days; however they are not the traditional “terrorists” as this organisation is well armed by a large nation and mostly works for profit… they are modern day mercenaries who don’t work in the open, they may be paid to commit “terrorist” like offences. They don’t advertise their work like terrorist and most the time their work will be blamed on another organisation.

Background: Its always a good idea to start from the very beginning and this case is no exception. We go back to the second term of Bob Vales, leader of Noitan Teppup. The nation of Noitan Teppup is pretty much ruled by corporations who keep Bob Vales in power through a complex system of rigging the elections and threatening workers with job cuts… in return for power Bob Vales gives the corporations a great deal and has disbanded all laws protecting workers rights.

These corporations eventually worked out that they may eventually have to replace Bob Vales as he becomes less and less popular with the nation and the nations military, the first set of people are rebelling against him for his tough policies and the such, where as the military are unhappy because of continued cuts to decrease taxation on private companies.

As such they felt they may require their own set of soldiers who work for the same principals they do. Profiteering. They would assure the companies of additional military power that would help keep the nation working how they please… they would also help because they too would become a company that wants the nation to be pro-business.

So the demand was met by an arms company, War Incorporated. This company already had close ties with the military and could acquire real soldiers to join their ranks as “security advisers”, “beta testers” and other closely linked terms… they would be paid well and eventually let in on the plan. Eventually they formed a powerful mercenary organisation under the guise of an arms company.

Of course, the problem is that it isn’t hard to associate the two should the newly formed “Crimson Privateers” be discovered. So it was essential for War Inc. to branch out into other sectors, eventually taking over enough companies and subsidiaries to fully cover this organisation.

Only a select few know about the Crimson Privateers and they are very picky about how they choose their customers… they often don’t use their name and work in the guise of other organisations, military or even terrorists. Carefully protection their interests.

Motives: The Crimson Privateers are unlike most terrorists, they are mercenaries and as such they get their own little advantages and disadvantage which will be covered in a moment. However the most obvious objective in mind is payment. They work for profit…

However they also, like other powerful organisations and nations, work for power and influence, though this is covered up better then their will for cash payments. As to how much power they have in Noitan Teppup right now? Well, it’s substantial but there are a lot of people seeking power in Noitan Teppup right now as the nation is going through an election year…

As it has been pointed out, they don’t think like terrorists and as such they are more “mercenaries” and while they are willing to do some things a terrorist may do, some things they will not even consider.

The men and woman in this organisation have different reasons for being mercenaries and as such are often motivated by:

> Making more money so they may live comfortably.

> Surviving long enough to spend the money they have acquired.

This means that they will be very thorough about not being caught… they won’t take risks too high without being able to find someone who is willing to do it (trained criminals are a good choice, save them from the chair and make them disappear from the public records then make them take high risk missions… see Le femme Nikita , both the film and the series give you an idea of what I’m talking about).

They wouldn’t think twice about suicide bombings… they wouldn’t ever agree to do it personally and they would find another way. They also prefer more covert roles which are not combat based.

Layout: I won’t go too deep into this one until I’ve had more time to think about it, but basically the entire organisation is essentially run like a business, though it’s existence is kept highly secret. It has a CEO (who doubles up as a CEO of a real cover organisation) as well as the normal structure. Though it is mostly built like the military when dealing with the military aspects of the organisation. At times they do operate in cells, especially if they are working with, or trying to fame, terrorist. Other times they are more squad based, or team based… generally it’s well organised using very good command structures like those within a commercial/military organisation.

For now there isn’t much more I can say… as I’ve got some thinking to do… but I feel this covers the basics which is all that is needed.

Support: This part is the most important, though I feel it has been covered lightly by all the other subjects.

The Crimson Privateers are supported by a nation of which they are based in. This nation supports the “Crimson Privateers” in an OOC respect because both of the nations are run by me. So getting permission isn’t a problem… however in an IC respect it can also be said that the nation’s corporations support them.

Basically put, the organisation is based in Noitan Teppup, a large nation (700 million) with an economy so strong that it tries to control its politics. The Crimson Privateers is an organisation that pays for itself, as terrorism is costly and requires support, The Crimson Privateers get paid to support others… this pay plus the legitimate companies behind them gives them access to very good training and very good equipment… though it means they have less then a thousand mercenaries working for it… most of which are in training.

Think of them all as “Elite Forces” because they are well funded and with this funding they make themselves better so they can demand more money. So while other organisations are stuck with their AK47’s and poor handouts, the Crimson Privateers are well trained, well armed but limited in number.

Final Touches: This has actually been more brief then I thought it would be, but basically it’s important to remind everyone that this is purely OOC and is being posted in “International Incidents” because it suits the forum better then in “Nation States” which seems to be more RP based.

This isn’t the limit of the information as I will have a lot of it not written down here so that players don’t know everything; it should make it more interesting and allows me to change things as I move along. Any more information needed please ask here or telegram me if you want to be more discrete.

I have not operated outside of Noitan Teppup yet and as such no nation would even know of them. However you may also wish to express your interest in being involved in the Crimson Privateers at some point… do not try to trap me as I’ll be more cautious then to automatically add myself to your nation, though expressing your interest now may mean that eventually I will IC try and work it in carefully…

This organisation is not made so I can attack anyone specifically and it will most probably be completely for sale to nations I reveal myself to. They may approach situations that are likely to need mercenaries, but they won’t be going by their name (they never will) and they will have contingency plans in case you reveal them…

I’ll go into more later, but for now that’s them… they are here and they are explained to avoid arguments about them. This is a reference for both me and other nations. Please note that I will not have operatives in your nations unless I actually RP them going in… I’m not that kind of player.

It's pretty indepth so you may want to read the "jist" at the start of the thread and yes I do support this nations claim that it is in fact a Noitan Teppup entity...

All of the above is OOC.

Errr... this is a OOC thread, so I'm not even going to bother with the OOC tag.

Anyways, you may have noticed that the nation with 4 posts has only really posted on this thread and a few others, all OOc posts. It's a puppet that is explained here as an organisation within Noitan Teppup.

Yes, I'm an experienced Roleplayer and when I can be assed I will do things with these guys to show how you run a organised terrorist group which people will enjoy having relations with; seeing as no action will be done purely for causing damage... it's about the story.

If only a very select number of people know about Crimson Privateers and they have only ever worked in Noitan Teppup, is there a way to contact them and offer employment?

My guess would be that they are either 1. asking you, should they notice you, or 2. ooc agreement (TG) regarding... 'suspicious information' regarding such an organisation in Noitian Teppup, so you can RP the contact ;)

Sounds like a good idea Der Angst, Thanks

What do you think, Crimson Privateers or Noitan Teppup?

OCC: Hm... it would depend on the situation I guess. The way I'm getting connections for the mercanary organisation in question to to make alot of intelligence links (all got through IC roleplay) and then use them to determine where we can make a profit.

You wouldn't be in contact with the organisation as such because they will be designed so that they never directly get involved in the situation. They will use other names and methods to assure they are anonymous in all affairs because alot of nations hate mercanaries...

Ulitmately they will most likely contact you or work under the guise of someone else and allow themselves to be contacted under that guise.

Their prefered method is to use others to do their work seeing as their numbers are limited.. however, like Section 1 from "Le Femme Nikita" they will probably save useful criminals from execution and employ them for riskier operations... hell, they probably go further and actually set up useful people so they can save them and use them...

WiH, it's not hard to determine whose nation Crimson Privateers is... ;)

edit: Meh, the OOC tag just came instinctively. :P
