100 knots? That's quick for a submerged vessel.

Thanks to MHD propulsion, advanced materials shaping, and drag reduction technologies -- such speeds are possible for the enterprising nation or company with the right funding.

Secret message, encrypted so only Autonomous City-states' R&D (or whoever made and is selling this thing) can see this.

We would like to purchase 1 of these. Can this be customized for a large nuclear attack sub? If so, we'd like to buy 5 customized nuclear attack versions of these subs.

A developing nation such as yours does not have the infrastructure to support and maintain such high-performance vessels. Please try again when your nation is further along!

I'm sorry, but 100 knots is ridiculous. I don't care how much money you put in it...if its not supercavitating - which is future tech - its not going that fast. Besides it wouldnt be worth anything as a submarine if its going 100 knots, you can hear an Alpha from across the atlantic at 20....

Please reconsider your specifications.

This is purely a civilian, unarmed design. Your nation is also awfully young to support such a high-performance vessel.

Your nation is also too young to support this technology, nor could such an advanced ship be built in 30 days.

OOC: If you'd read the description at more than a glance, you'd remember that it's a civilian transport submarine... it's not designed for being combat quiet. It's designed to get from point to point quickly without worrying about floating obstructions like ice and other ships. Secondly, my nation is a Dec 02 nation that has developed technology in the post-modern realm for quite some time now - it is absolutely capable of building these kind of vessels. I'm also an engineer IRL, so I am fully aware of what it would take to make a submarine go that fast. A good salesman doesn't give everything away in the sales pitch. So, your request for reconsideration is duly noted and ignored.

Which is it? The picture says MPH, not knots...I assume knots, but considering that the picture is so false it would be only natural to assume that its claim is outrageous.

Dec. 02?? Nations are not like wine.

I will consider this future tech exclusively.

As if it were not immediately obvious, I didn't draw that picture. It's adapted from an artist's conception. I didn't Photoshop the image because I figured people would -read- and go with the specs as stated in the thread. Imagine that. Even so, a knot is roughly equivalent to 1.151 miles per hour. The difference is not that great, especially for a craft propelled by an MHD drive. Have a little imagination. That's what conceptual artists are there for. I'm not talking about supersonic manned rocket subs that turn and burn at breakneck speeds or anything ridiculous like that... so, I think you're burning the wrong bridge here.

Yes, that's right... I've been playing this game since December of 02. That means, in NS terms, that the FACS has been around for centuries. To pretend that nothing has advanced in that game time would be just silly.

You can consider it whatever you like. I do hope you realize, though, that supercavitating and other high-speed torpedoes and projectiles already exist. Vehicles utilizing those technologies are not so far off in the future as you seem to believe. Something like this is par for the course for a post-modern tech nation with a "frightening" economy like the FACS.
