The SR military chiefs stood watching the isolated network of computers while technicans tapped away at them. Military Computer Security advisors put all the defences they could find on the systems, screwing around with everything they could get into. An impaitent technican stood over near one terminal, waiting impaitently with a network cable, unplugged, in his hand.
"Are we ready yet?" He enquired.
"Yes sir."
"Releasing HELIOS now!"
The technican plugged in the network cable. The SR Military chiefs leaned in closer to the screens. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Suddenly, activity lights on the front of each computer case started blinking like mad. A technican tried to move the mouse, but it had frozen. The keyboard had frozen. Then, a digitzed voice emitted from the speakers "HELIOS UPLOAD COMPLETE."
The technicans backed out of the room, as did the SR Military chiefs. The head technican turned to them "This is where the cool stuff happens!"
The screens went blank. Then, amusingly, a Lapse soldier walked across the screen, and then exploded half-way. Then the system started to smoke slightly. After a bit, it turned off.
"Well, what did you think of HELIOS?" asked the technician.
"What the hell just happened?" asked a military chief.
"Well, HELIOS was uploaded from the host computer to the networked machines. From there, it did its best to break through security and everything else it could find. Then, basically, it screws everything up. The Exploding Lapse Soldier shouldn't be there, but we don't have lives. Heh.. heh... anyway, HELIOS then attempts to overclock the CPU and cook the system, hence the smoke. So there you have it... a cooked system and a screwed network. Can't wait to test it on the battlefield!"
"EXCELLENT! But, I do have one question..."
"What?"
"How to you stop it?"
"Excuse me?"
"Stop, son, stop! How do we stop it?'
"As far as I know, you can't, until it can't find anything to infect or it can't break a security code..."
"Oh dear god. Right, isolate this stuff right now, don't let it get anywhere... if it gets out, it'll wreck the world"
OOC: This isn't an RP, it's just a bit of information on SR's new weapon.
