Civil war in FPC!!! fight for the airports!!! [serious RP]

04-03-2004, 16:30
OOC: Crookfur, Crownguard & Illior, dunno what happened to myl ast thread. It just vanished. So I'm starting this new one.

IC:

Following the referendum's results of 49,9% for the Imperials & 50,1% for the Reformists, pro-Parliament supporters took to the streets and celebrated their party's victory. However, Kombayn Lichtaïev wasn't so happy about the results and demanded a recount. His request was refused. Now, he wasn't a hot-head so he decided to wait patiently for the next day to receive more support in the parliament session.

However, members of his party did not take this refusal and decided to take matters into their own hands. Around 40 pro-Democratic alliance suspects took whatever fire arms they had in their homes and went to meet the cheering pro-Parliament supporters that were celebrating in almost 23 cities.

At a moment's notice, the suspects opened fire at the crowd, killing dozens instantly and wounding many others. It took nearly 15 minutes for the police to gun down the armed men. In total, 230 pro-Parliament supporters were slain along with 3 cops & the 40 armed men. Another 100 pro-parliament supporters were wounded.

Upon hearing this, the prime minister, Miss Sanjis, declared the Democratic alliance an outlawed party and that any important member would be arrested.

FPC free news:

9AM
Good evening. Upon last night's incident, the police along with the army have made several raids to capture important figures in the Imperial party. However, none of these raids were successful as those key figures had long gone into hidding.

A message was found telling that if by noon today, Miss Sanjis would not agree to step down from office, 18 provinces would secede from the Republic.

Miss Sanjis's answer was swift: "Any attempt to secede from this republic will be met by brute force."

I think this means our country will be once again at war.

The Federation is disheartened to see that FPC is on the road to civil war once again. Have your people not learned from the mistakes of the past two generations? Political dissidents and refugees that want to start over are welcome to come to the Federation; however, all immigrants to the Federation must renounce FPC citizenship and all affiliation with armed FPC groups upon entry. We will not be a haven for those that would help continue the cycle of violence by contributing from abroad.

WiH will be willing to send 100 Blue cross troops to aid you against such a thing happening again and a new civil war. The blue cross are our crack troops, the elites of the special forces, they are mainly armed with OICWs but some have other weapons such as the MMP-5A6B(like the SAS uses but a lot better, and a different name).
We do not like rebelions, and the such, and we are currently craking down on terrorist cells in WiH. If Our offer is accepted we will transport the troops in 4 Hercules with some support troops, an airport will be needed for our helicopter, chinooks mainly, and ofspreys, as well space for 15 Eurofighters to do CAP missions.

OOC: ACS, it wouldn,t make roleplay if there wasn,t any civil war in FPC ;)

IC1: Few people consider ACS's offer. Around 2,000 flee while they have the chance. Others are begining to arm themselves.

IC2:
--FROM Miss Sanjis--
--TO War_in_heaven--
I accept your offer. Please send your troops in our capital. They will be needed to secure the parliament from any attacks. Right now, open war has not been declared but noon is approaching fast. It is already 11 o'clock. Even after noon, I'm not sure that war will start. Those rebels do not have the guts.

We are willing to send 1000 red guards, our elite special forces to help stop this conflict before it boils over into war. They are armed with M16 assult rifles with infared, scopes and laser sights, Beretta 92FS pistols, and flak jackets. They have all been trained in jungle, desert, artic and urban warfare. The 1000 coming are all urban combat specialists. They will be under your command, please use them well.

" We have had a positive repply to our message to FPC, the 100 Blue cross and support troops are on their way sir. I would like to suggest that we but around 400 blue cross on alert status red, in case our troops over there need help. It also seems that the troops are needed in the capitol, so therefore the STOL capability of the hercules is not needed, we suggest we use larger faster jet transports, that should make it easier for the troops " Announced the sargent.

" Make it so, and tell the prime minister, I think that if its bad, as you say then we may need more than just the blue cross, the marines also, they'll need to be on high alert, and those BC need some ATT-14s, the armored version of the APC also. " Barked the General

OOC: By the looks of things this looks that this will be an all out war, so we would like permission to be ready to bring to port a small fleet of ships, carrying around two battalions of marines(2200 or so marines) with two supply battalions. But if you think that it wont get that bad, or that any other nation will declare war on you then i wont send them into your waters, just deploy them to international waters.

IC:

The Crookfur govenrment would like to convey it's dispair at the further worsening of political conditions within FPC.
We urge the Democrats to step back from the brink and accept the will of the people. The only truely worthwhile way to acheive your aims is to work within the esystem, outright rebelion is adnagerous and follish step to take.
Crookfur places the full weight of it's support behind the democratically elected governement of FPC and has military aid and funding available if needed as ever the people of Crookfur stand ready to offer succor to those fleeing the agony that the Democrats seem determined to inflict upon thier nation.

King James V wishes to continue his grandfathers policy of friendship towards the people of FPC, and their democratically elected government. He wonders, if the government permits, if it would be feasible to re-open the old McLeodian base for use by foreign countries as a staging post for their forces. It most certainly has the capacity to act as such a base, and with a new base established, His Royal Highness would happily deploy further forces to the region to assist in the conflict.
04-03-2004, 18:21
OOC: Hey McLeod03! How's it going? Long time no see! :) How's your country?

IC1: Miss Sanjis accepts the help of British Communists. The 1,000 soldiers will be deployed in the city of Liliansk, in a couple of government buildings.

IC2: "Leader of WIH, I do not think any further help will be needed but I do accept your small fleet in the Port of Ostiansk (north of New-Quebec) in case a foreign country invades." -Miss Sanjis

IC3 :
--FROM Miss Sanjis--
--TO Phoenixius--
Dear Council, I thank you for your help. However, 25,000 soldiers is large and since the situation is not dire, I must decline that figure. A force of 5,000 would be much easier for us to handle. remeber, if too many soldiers are seen, this could only aggravate the siutation with the Imperials.

Furthermore, two full light infantry regiments and a large detachment of the Military Police are being readied for deployment to the base to await the first transport convoy carrying McLeodian armour.

"... And, as our country is a pacific nation, and we encourage the people of the world to promote peace. We feel sorry that the civil war is iminent on FPC. As part of our impartial politics, all we can do is to open our airports and welcome anyone from this friend people on our country during this hard period. We can not send soldiers nor weapons to any sides of this conflict because we believe that a peaciful solution is always possible, even in hard times.

I have been asked to offer your fleet docking facilities at our base in FPC. Engineers should have basic facilities up and running by the time your fleet arrives, and there is more than enough room to support such a small task force.
04-03-2004, 18:53
the great nation of merkwood will not take a side on this situation and therfor will send aid to all that need it we will not be sending military assistance in any forms nor shell we be opinionating anyone
04-03-2004, 19:10
Thanks Mcleod03, the marines have their own small engineers company, around 100 men on this battalion(the 7th).
We fell that we will not be in the docking facilities for long, or at least some of the fleet wont be, with the destroyers keeping a constant look out for any ships, especially illegaly leaving FPC. WiH also feels that there is a need for a control center were we can plan out flight plans and missions so we do not get in each others way and can co-operate.
OOC: how long will the troops be needed, and if it is a permament base, could i use it as a naval/air base to launch attacks in other wars if i am given permission?
McLeod03
04-03-2004, 19:21
OOC: This base was designed for use as a major deployment facility in case of war, at the time when FPC and the Attican Empire were extremely hostile.

It can easily support around ten thousand infantry, nearly a thousand tanks and two thousand other armoured vehicles, as well as five squadrons of fighters and bombers. It also expanded to hold up to three Carrier Battle Groups and numerous naval vessels, as well as having twin dry dock facilities to support long term deployments.

The Emperor, usually very unobtrusive in International Affairs, wished to show his suport to the elected Government in FPC. We have heard of previous wars and do not believe them to be beneficial to anybody.

We are therefore preparing a peacekeeping force to head to the region and attempt to overt this latest potential war. However if the Government is directly challenged then assets in country will be availiable to help them in a full miliaristic stance.

Full details of this force will be sent later if FPC were to invite it into the country.

Ion Hammer, you can send your team. An escort will await you at the airport.

Imperial Guardsmen, new Parliament directives limit the forces sent from an international country to a maximum of 5,000 soldiers. However, you may send some peacekeepers. THey will be used to guard government buildings.

Location : a British Communists checkpoint.
- It's around midnight. There are checkpoints in many streets of the capital and major cities. However, one of them, held by British Communist soldiers will get an underservd attention.

There are 4 guards in the small checkpoint made of sand bags, barbed wire and wooden frame. 1 of them is checking for any cars or civilians while the 3 others are watching a TV show. In the shadows, 2 figures are walking slowly towards the small camp. They stop at a junction wich provides them with cover. They are not so far away. One of them takes out a tube shaped object. THe other puts something on one end of this object. He then gives a tap on his fellow's head.

In the checkpoint all is clear.
"Guys, it's one of you's turn to watch. I'm tired and hungry." says one of the soldiers.
"ok ok wise guy..."

A large explosion is heard. The checkpoint has been hit with an RPG. The rocket went inside the small bunker and exploded, killing the 4 foreign soldiers in it.

IC2:
9 AM
Location: small village in the southern part of FPC. aproximatively 3,000 persons.

At around 6AM, citizens of this little village called Hilov heard of what happened to the British Communists troops. They interpreted this as a declaration of war against the Parliament and since this village was 95% pro-Imperial, they revolted.

They arrested, and latter killed, the police garrison that was in the village, some 60 police officers, and killed the 5% of the population that was pro-Parliament. They armed themselves and set up barricades in their village. At 7AM, the blue, red & yellow flag of the revolution could be seen flotting on top of many houses of Hilov.

At 7h15 AM, the defense minister recevied news of what was happening. He immidiately sent a bataillon of 1,000 soldiers with 10 APCs to quell the revolt. However, these were repulsed by the sheer fanatism of the defenders. The APCs were all destroyed by Hilovians wrapping themselves with mines and charging the armored cars.

Reinforcements were called in but this wasn't enough. So, the Interior minister decided to use a more radical way....
***

9AM
The defenders are manning their posts. At the outskirsts of the village limits, they can see the Parliament soldiers setting up blockades. They think it's going to be a long siege. How wrong could they be.

In an other instant, they see a plane flying above them. It goes fairly low and drops a couple of small capsules on the ground. The plane goes away. After falling on the ground, the capsules break and a white cloud begins to come out of them. Citizens get immerged by the cloud but do not feel any side effects.

During the meantime, the governmetn forces are clsoing all facilities that went in the town such as water & electricity.

3 days later, some citizens get weird symptoms: they have rashes on their skin.
5 days later, nearly all the citizens have scars and deep cuts to their skin due to the rash they previously had.
6 days later, many begin to die. Some people see their skin peel away just by rubbing it.

2 weeks after the rebelliong....
Parliament soldiers dressed in biohazard suits enter the village. They can only see death and destruction. Corpses are lying in the streets. All the village as been eradicated. One of those soldiers returns to the camp. He is disinfected. He takes a phone. After seconds, he hears a voice.
"Yes Miss Sanjis, operation RedDawn has worked. They are all dead."

Colonel Boris Henskin commander of the Regiment immeadiately after seeing his troops landing properly gets into his HIND helicopter and proceeds to the nearest FPC military command post to seek instructions.

Kombayn Lichtaïev talking to his generals :

"Men! This day will be regarded later on as the start of our glorious rebellion or the doomsday that let our ideology be crushed by the tyranny of the Parliament. This day! Our glorious armies will attack numerous bases belonging to the Government forces and will take villages. This day, our liberation war begins!

Generals, you all know what you have to do. May god and FPC be with you."
They all saluted each other and went to their jobs.
***

Monday 25 August, 265 afterFP
The morning is like all others. Citizens are sleeping. Soldiers of the parliament are also sleeping, foolish enough to forget sentry duties. However, some are awake. In the dawn's shaddows, soldiers run towards their objective: a parliament fort. Those rebels have no problem taking the fort as the garrison is still sleeping. In other places, entire villages are taken by the Imperial army. These villages are "liberated".

This happens all over FPC. 68 forts are stormed, their garrison killed, 200 villages are liberated & hundreds of bridges and rail way stations are also taken.

The long awaited civil war has begun. Upon hearing the news of this sudden victory, citizens in pro-Imperial villages took their weapons and threw out the garrison. A total of 180 village liberated themselves.

In total, 10,000 Parliament soldiers were killed. In response to this attack, the government put it's soldiers on alert and called in the reserves. It is rumored that they will use a dangerous weapon to stop this rebellion. However, no one knows what this will be...

The Emperor requests that more troops be allowed to land to ensure the security of our forces in the Western area.

At 3rd Guards HQ

"Colonel Sir, Emperor Constantine has requested that we be allowed to land more troops. 8th Guards Infantry and the 4th Guards Tanks are thought to be reinforcing us soon."

"Thank you Major." the colonel turned to the radio man. "Order Putin to take his battalion forward to near that village", he pointed on a map to a village that was rumoured to be in enemy hands. "Give him the tank company and that 105mm Battery. Also inform him he has 18 CAS missions availiable, napalm and cluster munitions."

"Yes Sir" replied the Captain on the radio's as he sent the orders out.

5 Miles away tanks and BMP's started moving towards the village whilst HIND helicopters and MIG-29's flew above.

FPC free NEWS:
Updates from the front lines: today, a convoy of our Parliament army was brutally attacked as the Imperials used RPGs and small anti-tank rifles to bombard the medical trucks that were carrying wounded and medicine. A reported number of 40 trucks along 180 soldiers were killed/destroyed today.

Another disaster, on the Maliov front: a recon force of about 300 soldiers were taken captive for the most part. Our boys were checking a small village in the North-Easter part of FPC when they were reportdly ambushed by Imperial soldiers. Around 90% of that squad was captured while the other 10% was slaughtered.

Meanwhile, in our capital city, a terrorist attack happpened killing and wounding over 500 people. 7 bombs exploded in the "Victory for FPC" train station today at around 9o'clock as citizens were getting on to get to their jobs. This attack is rumored to be the work of the Imperials as New-Quebec has been know for it's large support for the Parliament.

In other news, a gallant victory today by our soldiers. A compagny of 10 men managed to knock out of combat 4 Imperial tanks & 10 armored vehicles. They also took 40 prisonners.

Four HIND's were hit by RPG's. Two went down killing all onboard, while one more managed to land and let out a squad of troops and its crew before exploding. The other limped back to base.

Those ten men ran into a nearby farmhouse and began calling in artillery strikes with a small TACSAT radio.

Meanwhile 3 GT-1 MBT's approached their position and began turning their turrets towards buildings which had RPG's streaking out of them.

The earth shook as the massive main guns fired one after the other and three houses crumbled into dust.

Eight BMP-4s now joined the tanks and began unloading Infantry. Some joined the men in the farmhouse whilst the rest used their AK-101s and PK's to deliver suppressing fire into enemy positions.

About 3 Miles behind the 155's were set up and began firing as soon as Target Co-Ordinates were given.

The crump of landing shells was the signal for five more BMP's along with 3 more tanks to begin moving across the open ground towards the Town. As they went RPG's streaked out and bullets raked the ground infront of them.

One BMP was hit and immbolised and troops piled out of the back and began advancing to towards the town whilst the defenders concentrated on the tanks.

The tanks were firing as they drove, buildings were disintergrating from direct hits. The Lead tank saw an RPG crew reloading in a building, the main gun was being reloaded and so the commander ordered the driver to drive through the building.

The tank emerged on the other side and a BMP followed it through. It stopped momentarilly as the Infantry within scrambled out and began clearing the adjacent houses.

The artillery shifted to hitting the town square where enemy armour had been reported and rounds began to fall around civilian cars trying to escape.

Meanwhile the rest of the Battalion was supporting I Companies advance on the other side of the town, creating a trap from which no-one would escape.

The town was subdued before nightfall and civillaians were rounded up and put in the main square underguard.

Colonel Henskin visited later in the evening to get a full report.

"Colonel Sir" he was greeted by Major Putin "Final reports are 29 KIA, 58 WIA, with 2 MIA at the present time Sir".

"Damn thats a heavy toll for a town this size, what about enemy casualties?"

"Well sir most came from out choppers going down, we will not make the mistake of sending them in first again. Enemy casulaties were in the hundreds, they didnt have anything heavy enough to get the GT-1's."

"Ok Major good job. I will be back later with more orders"

At a nearby Imperial base...

-Sir!!! News from the town!!!
-What? Say it!?!?!?!
-They's taken it back. We lost around 200 dead + 100 wounded. The town's folks have been rounded up. What should we do?
-I'll tell ya. Until we get new reinforcements, we'll wait. We cannot attack those Imperial Guardsmen since their tanks are too damn well-equipped. We could however...
-------------------------------

The town, after the battle, at night fall...

"-Quick quick quick!!! Set up those mortars....
-Yes sir!"

4 mortars are put into position. Their targets: the buildings occupied by Parliament forces.

At a signal's notice, the 4 mortar crew begin to fire at their targets. The first bombs hit bull's eye. 4 rounds penetrate 4 different building, tearing the roof and some parts of walls with huge explosion.

Three other salvos are fired at buildings or vehicles but they do not inflict too much damage. The mortar crew flees in the woods to get back at their HQ.

In the war room, general Chïnkov points out to Colonel Henskin a small patch of wood near their base;
"Look colonel, there is an important base of rebels there. I should say a weapon's cache supplying the whole of the Northern rebel armies. If we capture it without them blowing it up or changing it's location, we'll criple the Imperial armies in the Northern Front.

After the General's speech, Stepan Koulko, the special forces trainer, begins to speak;
This is a good plan, in theory. However, troops located in that wood are especially well trained. You'll need the best soldiers you can muster, and I mean the elite, to attack it. Don't throw in regular conscripts.

"THat's right" says Julia Stemanva, specialist in High-Tech weapons,"the rebels in that location are armed with loads of weapons, ranging from M4, M16, AK-47 to M60s. Be weary that they are specially trained to use any weapons they can find. It will be dangerous colonel, but worth it."

General Chïnkov speaks again:
Yes, all the info told here is vital for the sucess of this operation. Furthermore, I have intel here. Intel says that 500 soldiers are guarding the weapon's cache. They also say numerous AA batteries are positionned in key areas so an aerial assault is not recommended. Also, the forest around the location is covered with swamp. The only way, oddly, is a direct road through the forest to the weapon's cache. Intel says that disguising the trucks in wich your soldiers will ride in as friendly could help them get far enough. What say you?"

We can get anything we need from our main HQ or shipped in if its not availiable in country, but that will take time. Also i think incase they are discovered i'll place a battery of 155's here" again he pointed to the map "and here, with my Self Propelled guns here. I also want my tanks and BMP's ready to go up this road if all hell breaks loose, will it support them?

"HQ~FP does not want the weapon's cache to be damaged. Since the location is very small, one shell misplaced could destroy a large area, including your troops. No, the operation rests solely on your troops' abilities to take small buildings.

Since the garrison is believed to be 400 to 500 ennemies, intel assumes the compound is built underground. This, logically, could provide enough space for a garrison this size so, upon securing the perimeter, your troops shall have to face underground corridors with a possible garrison.

For your tanks and BMPs, they should be put on alert but they would be highly unefficient since the road connected to the weapon's cache compound is only wide enough for 1 vehicle at a time. This oculd put your armor at risk if a counter attack would be made by the ennemy.

Now, your forces. I suggest you send in 10 to 15 trucks, military ones, but painted with rebel colors. I have already a team of hackers working on sending the compound a message that a weapon's convoy is supplying them some fresh stock. This could easily be our cover. What do you think? IC: Emperor Constantine was having his breakfast when the messanger arrived from the situation room with the news that Attican forces were advancing into FPC. Understandably he was furious.

"What, after they shrugged us out of the talks. Thats it. Order in the 4th Guards Tanks and 8th Guards Infantry Regiments General." as he returned to his shreddies "God dammit get the entire Army Mobilised incase they want a proper war I will not have our men killed there by a foreign power intent on letting rebels rule the country."

The Orders were recieved on the amphibious craft still floating where the 3rd Regiment had been dropped off. They began disgorging tanks trucks and infantry carriers before an hour was over.

At 3rd Guards HQ, Colonel Henskin was reasonably happy with the plan. He had dispatched the orders to get the trucks painted into rebel colours. Meanwhile he had the problem of Attican Forces coming over the border. He had already sent an urgent message to the High Command and had gotten a reply that two more Regiments were coming in. He would be in command until Brigadier General Bondarenko arrived tomorrow.

At dawn, on Monday 20th June 305 AFP, thunder strikes. More than 70 citites (each having more than 500,000 citizens) are attacked by Imperial soldiers. These cities include Liliansk & New-Torontov. However, New-Quebec as been spared due mostly to the huge number of Parliament soldiers stationed there.

Back to the cities; the attacks are ferocious. More than 3 million imperial soldiers are taking part in these assault. In all, the Republican forces in all of those cities is less than 600,000 soldiers. This "attack" is know as Operation "Bulldozer". High-Generals from the Imperial sides have been preparing it for nearly a year, eventhough the conflict dates back a couple of weeks.

Soldiers were hidden in sewers, appartement complexs or simply charged out of the suburban areas surrounding the cities. Fighting is quick and fierce. Parliament soldiers, wich are undermaned, cannot face the brutality of the assaults. Their routs can also be explained by this: citizens, seeing the migthy Imperial army rolling in, took the streets and attacked the fleeing Parliament soldiers.

At sunset, 57 cities had fallen, costing the lives of:
100,000 Imperial soldiers
89,000 Parliament soldiers
& 70,000 citizens.

"Sir, we dont really have much we can do. We have a relitevaly safe road to the coast and our landing craft. We can get the whole Division out in one night. Alternatively we can stay here and be a thorn in their side, but without much support there are just to many of them. We could also go to New Quebec and help there, but I dont know we can be sure that they wont change sides. My recomendation is leave. However we must get that order from the Emperor." he said handing the satilite phone to the General. Strangely it started ringing.

"This is General Bondarenko." he listened for three minutes then put the phone down. "We are to move back to the landing craft. The Emperor sees this as a lost cause. We have permission to engage anybody that threatens us. Get the orders out Colonel, and leave nothing behind for them. If there are any unoccupied vehicles that we didnt bring that are military, take them with us. Anything that cant move and is military is to be destroyed."

"Yes Sir." he went to the communications tent.

Within half an hour every unit was moving. The two Regiments that had just landed reboarded their craft whilst the 3rd Guards Infantry watched for approaching enemies. Within 7 hours every IG soldier was on the transports as they moved back to sea, MIG's flying overhead. All that remained was the wreck of an Mi-24 and some BMPs that had been damaged beyond repair. They were of course blown up, to the amusement of the GT-1 crew that got to fire the shots.

Major Thomas Greyson watched in awe as the imperialists put on a good show, the tracer fire made beautiful paterns that belied its deadly nature, even from the high altitude where his B2 was flying it was spectacular.
"shame it's all for nothing." he though as his targeting systems received yet more of the constant target updates for bomber's payload of JDAMs.

As a battery would open up it's location was picked up by satalite, high altitude recon and stand off radar aircraft and the coords isntantly relayed to the comand centre where bomb tasks were assigned and then transmitted to the bomber fleet.

Thomas looked at his display as he came upto his attack point.

"god have mercy on the poor souls," he prayed as he engaged the final launch command and the bomber began it's autoamtic weaposn release program. On reaching the assigned point the bomber opened it's dark bombbays and finally unleased it's terrible cargo of giuded bombs. 80 500lb JDAMS rained down, each moving to its individual target coordinates.

Acrosss the bomber fleet this was repeated as aolmost 2000 (1920) bombs screamed down on the waiting imperialist positions spreading togues of fire and horror throughout thier ranks.

(OOC: tototally Rl capable attack there perhaps people might under stand why the US only need 12 B2s... and why network centric warfare is the future).

The troops are being amassed presently but only 100,000 troops will be able to be deployed within the next 3 days. Upon approval by the FPC Parliament the troops will enter the country and establish a safe zone until the force is at full strength.

The President also has put the country on red alert and has deployed sam sites and flak cannons all across the country in addition to fighter patrols across the country.

Thats 16 of the 2,000pound system, the newer GBU38 500lb system is in the process of being cleared for use (it required an entirely new Bomb rack assembly).
The 500lb GBU38 isn't any bigger than a Mk82 dumb bomb.

The B-2 weapons clearance for it only entered final testing after Gulf war 2 (soemtime between nov and jan IIRC)

OOC: Tobacystan, we do not share a common border so your action is void. Unless your Attica with another name? Anyways, look down on the IC part...

IC:

Hearing about he declaration made by Tobacystan, captain Sobieski sent an immidiate message to Tobacystan officials as a call for help:

"Please send us all you can. Crookfur & Imperial guardsmen are helping us but I fear we will collapse in the long run by the sheer overwhelming numbers of the Imperials. Thank you."
08-04-2004, 16:17
The Imperials in te trenches surrounding New-Quebec take cover as hundreds of explosions light up the night. Hundreds are killed and even more are wounded.

But still, the Imperials hold on. They have learned a valuable lesson at a terrible cost.

The Imperial High-General, Igor Talaski, sees the danger of the Crookfurian airplanes. He decides to destroy the airport he has to cripple any attempt by the Alliance forces to capture it and land soldiers. The destruction begins immidiately.

At the same time, unknown by all execpt the top command of the Imperial side, troops are infiltrating the capital by means of underground passages and sewers. As many as 200,000 are currently beneath the city and are awaiting orders to storm out. However, these troops do not look like ordinary Imperial soldiers... something is quite strange about their appearance...
08-04-2004, 16:28
At his castle in the high mountains of Kasatchov, Vasily Gomanchkov, King of Talasiev, received news of the fighting in his neighboring country of FPC.
"My god, he said, look at all those atrocities. This cannot be permited. But I cannot attract those big countries like Crookfur or Imperial Guardsmen to my country..."

Next day, he made a public announcement both to his subjects & the international world:
"Talasiev will remain neutral in this conflict. However, I offer safe haven to all Imperial soldiers that wish to come in the sanctaty of our island. Also, my people have a strong wish to fight for the cousins in FPC so that is why I offer my people the choice to enlist in a foreign expeditonary force that will fight in FPC on the Imperial side. However, once leaving Talasiev, they will not be considered as rightful Talasievian citizens and thus, retribution on our country will be void."

OOC: rereading my post and yours while lsitening to Paschendale by Iron Maiden was a bit weird... oh and goodie goodie, para drops and engineering!!!

IC:
Out at sea the dark shapes of Marine assault group 2 could be made out against the half light of dawn as they began to enter rnage and aircraft becan taking off from the decks of the carriers (stats on fleet conposition on request)

Lft Anderson of the 59th Pathfinder company watched through his binoculars as the imperial force began destroying the airport. Turning to his satcom he relayed a report to high command and then powered up his FAC comunications box.

"Goggle eye to all stations report for tasking. over"

"Goggle eye this is tiger shark actual on 9Gs available for tasking. over"

"Tiger shark actual, i have bandits at 091 degree and 1km from my postion, on airport, mix of lights and hards, will talk you in. over"

"Copy Google eyes. Targets on airport ranged and sighted, will follow your lead in. over"

"Roger Tiger shark actual, begin pass on..."

Out of the sky a flight of Fleet air arm harriers roared at low level towards the imperial forces at the airport, cluster bombs, ATGMs and cannon fire raining down on thier targets.

As the close air support attack and other like it started the armada of transport planes arrived on station and began spewing paratroopers into the gray morning mist.

Crp Henderson took a deep breath and stepped out as the load master slapped him on the back, sending him on his way. Plummteing down he sighed with releif as the static line ripped his chute into action and his descent slowed. Little was visisble through the mist at this height but according to his display goggles' heading indicator he was on target. A number of small fleeting IR trace apeared on his visor but nothing concrete. Then he was in the mist the damp air mixing with his nervous swaet, he glanced at his altimeter as it counted down to impact, bracing himself he felt his equipment pack thump down just before he landed. It was a text book landing, if only the drill master had seen it. geabbign and loading his weapon he moved to the rally point metting the rest of his squad on the way. A few bursts of gun fire rang out, contact with the enemy was a little early but not unexpected.

There major drops have been carried out:
1 to the north to begin attacking forces between New Quebec and the sea to froce a land corridor open, this will be aided by the marines.
1 to capture the imeprial held air port
aand the final one to provide infantry cover for the 2 allied held airports.

After the troops were dropped the first wave of air craft turn back to load up with more equipment and supplies while a second wave begins dropping heavier equipment to the paras (light vehciles, ammo and artillery) and the first trnasports touch down at the allied airports thier cargo of Grey Mamba MBTs and Indra IFVs moving forward to support the infantry as the first evacuees are marshalled on baord.
08-04-2004, 19:43
The Imperial force of 400 men at the airport see the Crookfurian paratroopes coming down on them. The captain in charge sees this and understand that all is lost.

"Men, take your weapons and kill as much of these bastards as you can. Take cover in vital buildings so you will have cover. Those swine cannot destroy those buildings as they need it for the airport to function correctly. Move it!!!!"

With this, the 400 emn swarm vital buildings in and around the airport such as the radio tower, electrical booths and large hangars. Under the airport are some tunnels. Nearly 30 soldiers get into them. These tunnels are labyrinths that can turn deadly....

***

At the same time of the attack on the airport, the 200,000 soldiers hidden under New-Quebec receive the order to charge out. In an instant, ennemies swarm out of sewer holes and others get out thorugh blasted floors. These soldiers are armed with M16 rifles & tons of grenades and/or RPGs.

They begining assaulting defense posts of Parliament soldiers or any other Alliance stronghold.

After only 15 minutes of their assault, these soldeirs have taken 20% of the city and are constantly taking more. Reformist casualties are nearly 5,000 compared to the 100 Imperials. These are not the ordinary Imperial militias...
***
"Sergeant! said Yuri Gulenchko, Imperials are swarming in the capital. They were hidden in sewers and underground tunnels. We are losing many men. These soldiers are not ordinary militia that we've encoutered so far. They are stronger, faster and deadlier. I saw one of them kill 4 of our men plus destroy an APC while being injured!!!
-Damn it. Something's fishy... wait! look there!"

A firefight erupts between the sergeant & the private against 3 Imperials. After short bursts, the Imperials are dead. The Sergeant is wounded and calls for private Gulenchko:
"Pvt Gulenchko!!! Are you ok?" nothing. He sees the body of pvt Gulenchko lying in the street. A pool of blood surrounds him for he as been shot 30 times.
"damn it", the sarge said as he had been shot 8 times. He went over to see the bodies of the 3 Imperial soldiers. He looked at them and what he saw astonished him. They were identical. Like twins. They had the same height, the same physique and the same face. What was going on?...

OOC: modern Rol natiosn have no issues leveling an airports support biuldings after all they can bring in an entire air traffic control system in the back of a herc... (well the US and UK can).

IC: the para troops of 3rd brigade, 138th Airborne begin the ardous task of clearing the biuldings, with machine guns and grenade alunchers pinning the defenders down the riflemen rush forward clearing each squad breaching the doors (well more like the grendade launchers have breached any doors...) tossing in grenades and following through quickly automatic fire errupting from thier rilfes. Greandually all the biuldings bar the control tower ahve been cleared, the enemy within are just too concentrated to dislodge easily.
The brigade colonel ponders this and after a quick check with HQ gets the go ahead for an airstrike.

As the airstrike is inbound one of his engineers runs up:
"Sir, we have a problem! this entire palce is riddled with service tunnels, it looks like we will have to clear them the hard way." Then he paused and lsitened to a report on his radio. "Sir, it gets worse it seems that the sabotage efforts or our bombing has caused a rupture in the aviation fuel stores, vapour has been slowly seaping into the tunels and soem of biuldings, so far we have been lucky and haven't set it off yet but a big enough bang coudl turn this entire palce intoa fireball."

"A big enough bang? like say a 2000lber?"

"yes sir if it hit a major biuldup..."

"Then i suggest we should all move back rahter quickly! get everyone off the airfeild!!"

As the troops pulled back the dark shape of a Darkwing fighter passed over and a 2000lb bomb fell lazily down towards the control tower where it hit and thena fter a mometary delay exploded, ap ause then the fuel vapour throughout the base eruppted in a massive wall of fire that spurted from manhole covers and riuned biuldings, the main runway was suddenly ripped appart as servcie tunnels collapsed and the metallic udnerpinnigns melted.

Causualties:
30dead
120woudned (primarily burns dispite the fire resistant layer in thier uniforms).

The airport is totaly destroyed. The tunnels are severly damaged but people can still walk in them. However, unknown to many is the existence of an even deeper system of tunnels wich leads to an underground bunker. It was built 20 years ago and can withstand bombardments. The 40 soldiers that were in the tunnels hid there when the major explosion occured. 1 of them though, was injured and volunteers to go out and attrac soldiers to go down into the next system of tunnels. To do so, he takes his machine gun and fires round at the Crookfurians.

IC:

The first of the Imperial Guardsmen tanks began arriving at the airport recently taken by Crookfur. They had lost 3 of the precious GT-1 MBT's on the approach march along with countless trucks and nearly 100men. The 1st Battalion was the tanks, taking the lead as always. Colonel-General Bondarenko was in his command BMP, speeding up behind them to liase with the crookfur commander on the scene. The 3rd Guards Infantry Regiment was the first there followed by the other two regiments coming down the road about an hour behind.

Crookfur: clones had been developped in the old Empire, under FPC I. However, they are as any human being, they are just a whole bunch of the same looking soldeirs ;) but for the stroy's sake, let's just say they were triplets. Those are not clones but really well trained soldiers.

IC1:

In the underground airport tunnels, Imperial soldiers see Crookfurians approaching in the distance. One of them picks a RPG and fires it at them...

IC2:
Finnaly approaching the airport, the Imperial Guardsmen convoy think they can finally breathe. Just as the first tanks are pulling in, salvos of RPGs and rifle fire are shot at the less armored or unprotected vehicles of the convoy. Around 300 militia men are taking part in this raid. At the same time, they'll attack Crookfurians also but this raid is far more towards the end of the convoy.

Bringing up the rear of the column was the 2nd Battalion of the 8th Guards Infantry Regiment. So far in this conflict they hadn’t seen any combat, the rebels as they thought of them were attacking the middle of the convoy. However when that had passed into reasonably secure territory it was no surprise that they came under attack.
At the rear of the convoy were 3 BMP-4s and 2 GT-1’s, and just infront of these were the battalion in trucks and light armour. The RPG’s and rifle fire ripped into the first couple of trucks killing most aboard, and soon the battalion was involved in a serious fire fight. The GT-1’s were using their huge cannon to great effect, blasting mounds of earth into the sky whilst the BMPs attempted to advance on the enemy positions. Dismounted infantry began to pour fire into the sides of the roads whilst officers tried to call in air support.
All that was available were two MI-24 Hinds and these swept in three minutes later, shooting with their cannon and rockets at targets fleeing from the road.

After another ten minutes some more URAL trucks came back down the road to load up the wounded and dead plus those who’s trucks had been destroyed.

The final count was 13 dead, 45 wounded and 2 missing. The 2 were later found in the cab of their truck, unrecognizable were an RPG had hit. 1 BMP and 4 trucks were left behind and burnt. The rest of the convoy continued onto the airport driving through a hail of fire.

OOC Hope you don’t take that as a GODMOD, if you have any arguments I can change it.

IC:
The rocket roared up the passge it's warhead erupting as it plowed into one of the many incoveinentaly placed pipe mouts, showering the advacing Crookfur troops in hot shrapnel which sythed through weak spots in the troops armour, casuing a total of 5 causualties, momentarily stunned the soldiers return fire filling the tunnel ahead with rifle and shotgun fire.

Above group the perimeter defense teams were not slow to react to the probing incursion and within minutes mortar and machinegun fire began to rain down in support of the Guardsmen. Mean while a platoon sized force circles unseen behind the raiders catching them ina deadly cross fire.

IC1:
Outside the newly captured airport, corpses & burning vehicles can be seen. The lieutenant in charge of the raid, seeing the two helicopters coming in & the crookfurian soldiers surrounding him and his men decided to retreat. They had done enough damage for today. The rest of his militiamen retreated into the thick and wild forests surrounding the airport.

After 30 minutes of running, he stopped his men to count the dead & wounded: 190 KIA, 70 WIA & 10 Missing...

After the convoy is secured, the Imperial Guardsmen & Crookfurian soldiers hear cries for help. They see 10 men lying on the ground, wounded.

IC2:
The rocket is fired in the small tunnel killing 5 Crookfurians. However, the operator of the deadly device was also killed, shortly after by combined rifle and shotgun fire.
With little less than 38 men, the captain of the last airport garrison needs to take drastic actions to inflict more casualties to the foreign invaders. He decides to make collapse some passages that he cannot hold due to shortage of men. In seconds, 10 passage ways are collapsed. Now, he thinks, there is only 6 other ways to come into the final bunker.... what can he do?
He sets up numerous booby traps on 4 of the remaining passages with a squad of 5 men at the end of them to fight to the death. THe 2 remaining passages are fortified using sandbags & crates and men take positions with high caliber weapons. The rest of the 38 soldiers are sent to hide in the bunker for a final showdown...

IC3:
In New-Quebec, the battle rages. The invading soldiers are now securely positioned in hundreds of buildings. They have only lost 3,000 men compared to the 15,000 for the Reformists and 800 soldiers of the British Communists expeditionnary force.
Captain Sobieski orders his men & the Alliance soldiers not to destroy any buildings since New-Quebec is almost entirely made up of historical buildings and monuments. The 197,000 Imperials will have to be cleared the old fashion way...
16-04-2004, 22:24
The fighting intensifies in New-Quebec as the invading Imperials are now within sight of the Parliament. They have almost 60% of the whole city. However, stif resistance is being put up by the Reformists to hold their symbol of democracy.
Up to date, 95,000 Reformists have died along 60,000 Imperials in the streets of the capital.

IC2:
Deep in the tunnels the crookfur advance had slowed as the troops became more cautious, after encountering a couple of bloackages they begin to feel they are being herded towards trouble.

One squad blunders right into a booby trapped corridor losing 4 men to the explosives and fire from the defenders before pulling back and passing the news to other units, further slowing the advance as the pointmen carefully check every inch of ground ahead and peek round corners using fibre optic periscope devices. using grenades they clear the remaining booby trapped coridors and surpess the fortified psotions losing a futher 6 men but eliminating the fortifications with well placed 40mm grenades.

Getting close to the bunker the shout ahead ordering the remainign defenders to surrender.

IC3: As the imperial advance finally begins to slow near the parliament a massive Crookfur bomber raid lands on thier rear quarters. Under the cover of the furious fire storm the now fully deployed forces from the 2 allied airbases make thier move, headed by thier MBT-7 Grey Mambas and supported by thier newly arrived helicopter gunships 2 large colums of troops smash into the imperialist troops outside the city aiming to cut the infantry off from their supply lines and catch them between 2 forces. IC1: Few men are left to defend the last bunker of the 3rd airport attacked by alliance troops. However, these few men are well armed and equiped: dozens of assault rifles and hundreds of grenades in crates lie in the small but robust bunker. In all they are 24, including 3 wounded. Using anything they can, they form the last set of barricades. Each soldier takes at least a dozen grenades & all the ammo they can carry. They now await the Crookfurian troops to blast the only door of the bunker. After that, they will fight to the death using their grenades first and then firing bursts of rifle fire at the doorway.

IC2: The imperial troops charging the parliament are met by a surprise bomber raid. Hundreds die as the explosions are as big as city blocks. However, these soldiers have orders and they keep pressing on. At some point, a squad manages to enter the parliament by means of an open/blasted way. More Imperials follow. The Reformists, caught by surprise, hold surprinsingly well and manage to contain the Imperials to the lower levels of the parliament.

5,000 Imperials lay dead all around the parliament.

In other parts of the city, the surprise arrival of Crookfurian troops do not shake the attacker's confidence as they press their attack on any Alliance units they see. THey are cunning and await strategic moments to attack Crookfurians. However, days of fighting begin to take their toll. They are slowly pushed back from their positions as more of them die....

IC3:
Outside the capital of New-Quebec, the besieging High-General receives news that the situation is becoming sour in the city. Also receiving news that Crookfurians are going to cut him off, he decides to send all of his force in a direct assault of the capital. He hopes to force the Alliance troops to fight in an urban battle.
Nearly 2 million soldiers along with hundreds of tanks and APCs charge the suburban areas of the capital. They are quickly taken due to the low number of Parliament soldiers left. The Imperials continue their drive towards the heart of the city, mining the suburban roads and booby-trapping the suburban houses.

OOC: well, was real busy since last post and I've grown tired of this civil war. So I'll just sa real fast what happened.

- The Imperials are beaten out of New-Quebec, suffering staggering losses
- Many Imperial generals defect to the Republican side after the defeat at the capital.
- The mopping up of the few thousand Imperials left takes 5 months. The war ends with jubilation everywhere.
- The republican outlaw the Imperial political party or any other form of party that wishes to reclaim the throne of FPC. Strict measures are put to be sure that this will not be violated... previous sympathisers of the Imperial army are arrested, many are sent to jails/labour camps. Thousands others are shot. The military is everywhere with secret spy rings operating to catch any info about a possible Imperial cell

So, basically, FPC is back to a Republican state. However, there are no more elections since there is only one party, the Reformists. The Prime minister is Captain Sobieski.
