It was created by Credonia.

I will only recognize national gnps and budgets that determined using this calculator.

It doesn't have every possible option...
(There are many more ways for the government to get money than income tax, too.)

Very good, but still suffering from many common flaws, most notably the inability to account for variations in GDP ranges, and also the fact that $35,000 is not the highest per capita income that can be achieved.
There is no such thing as a perfect calculator, and best is an extremely relative term.
Since it's still flawed, saying you'll only accept what comes from that is very foolish and concieted. In this game, you should be a bit more accommodating than that.

I'm still using the old one I've been where you input the population, tax-rate, and choose your economy and it gives you the full read-out but I do like this one. Maybe improvements over time will switch me over.

Er.....yeah I do.

Economic Information:
Population 105 million
Economy Strong
Tax rate 100 %
Government Corrput Dictatorship
Tax regime flat rate
Military spending 35%

Comes out as

National Budget:

Your Budget
=$ 1054462 million
=$ 1054.462 billion
=$ 1.054462 trillion

Your Military Budget
=$ 369061 million
=$ 369.061 billion
=$ 0.369061 trillion

So thats a trillion then.....

Tag,

The Pipian owns it. And, Lower Egypt, I wouldnt say that...
I'll just ignore everything you dont take from the Pipian calc, and believe me, its alot more realistic.

eh no. Pipian says civil rights are a major factor in economic strength. There is nothing realistic about that.
Civil rights have little to do with the economy, govt. regulation of business does. The type of economic system is a lot more important than civil rights.

Not neccesseraly, there was something in Gameplay i think about the Pipian, and someone worked out a reason why. It is because Civil Rights are how well citizens are paid in their job, or at least thats what the economic part is. If a citizen is paid lower, that means two things:
1.) The government doesnt care, it gets to spend more on other things, IMPROVING the budgets with the money.
2.) There is SO many factories etc etc, that they dont have enough money to pay everbody there. Meaning, there are SO many factories etc etc the economy is GREAT

This calculator is missing the effect of SOEs from the National budget.

I believe that'd be the Pippian calculator.

Which you can find here. (http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=)

If not, I'm not sure. I THINK I've seen another one that you just type it into a text box and hit submit which was alot similar but that's the one I can think of right now.

What about an EOS (Enterprise Owned State) like McCountry? That creates other problems, like corporate armies that are not directly funded by the state.
Dyelli Beybi
14-03-2004, 11:44
hrrrm yes.....it depends upon whether the overall corporation would be willing to run the country at a loss, which I presume is untrue. The army would be of the exactly optimal size to offer a suitable deterence to enemies while not overly impacting on the profitability of the State.

It surely is, I'm afraid. But the absence of SOE expenditure should balance SOE income (in theory. In practice, that's the calculator's worst flaw).

Civil Rights in the budget? Compare Switzerland (rich, but denies citizenship to its economic migrants) to somewhere like Venezuela (still quite poor, but liberal in drug laws). Often, upholding civil rights costs as much as oppression. And at least this calculator uses your tax rate, it is a budget after all :D

Sadly I'm not a great programmer, so I can only write in Java, and I can't get access to the NationStates data feeds. But as some have said, it's not meant to be strictly accurate. Use it as a guideline.
