Galactic Defense Alliance

Goals:
Saftey of member states
Mutually beneficial trade agreements
Safety and well being of newbies who are not determined to get themselves Glassed in the first month of the game


Constitution:

I. Member states are not to engage in overt or covert offensive actions against each other.

II. Member states are to aid in the defense of new nations who have not
Intentional provoked attacks on themselves

III. Diplomatic problems between member states are to be settled in war games
or trial by combat.

IV. This constitution may be amended at the current leader of the alliances
discretion, or by a vote of the members.

V. Member states are to aid in the defense of fellow Alliance members, if
they are engaged in a conflict they did not intentionally enter. Alliance aid
stops at the borders unless willed otherwise by the Senate.

VI. The Council may vote to declare war by a 3/4 vote.

VII. Puppets are not allowed to join the alliance, but are allowed
protection.

VIII. Promotions may be issued by the current alliance leader or by an
council member.

VIIII. Member nations MUST post in the Alliance Activity Monitor once every
week to ensure activity. Full membership will not be granted until the first
post. (Activity monitor is on the Akheva board, which will be created when the GDA does not fall apart in the first few days)

X. GDA members may not declare war without absolute proof

XI. Members are expected to make at least a %1 donation of their GDP or an
equivalent donation of military units.

XII. Alliance spoils of war policy:
Land conquored by the GDA will:
Be divided up among member nations as follows. Every GDA member will receive 1/n of land, n=number of members. Any recovered monetary units will be destroyed or converted into your nations currency. Artifacts of culteral importance such as art, landmarks, and religiouse buildings will not be destroyed unless needed.
Residents of this nation WILL receive treatment equal to citizens of your nation and a disaster relief program will be set up either by the nation owning that section of land or the GDA.
Violation of any of the above will result in suspension or above from the GDA.

XIII. Technology levels.
We do Accept other tech levels than just space. We will still assist you if you are in need, but due to resources been tied up in space we may not have as much to give to your cause

Just a Tag and an FYI that I might want help putting down a pair of nations with a combined population half that of my own, assuming everyone resists the temptation to fire their ignore cannons. Don't send anything yet, tho.

Long story short, CorpSac invaded an NPC world, I sent in a ship to liberate it, he blew up the system when he saw he couldn't keep it. Then I retaliated for his slaughter of the planet's population by blowing up his homeworld and mauling his forces; he then calls in an ally, Hive Fleet Imodius, who claims to be a 4 million strong fleet of living ships with a 'hive patriarch' a quarter the size of the sun, and denyed his ships 'are made of cardboard' when I mentioned it. Things went down hill from there.

Presently, this could quickly end with peace, continued fighting, or ignore cannon.

Nice format but I'm not sure I could commit myself to an alliance that demands 1% of my GDP, that's alot of money... hell, I couldn't afford that even if it was 1% of my budget (less then GDP).

I'll keep an eye on the alliance maybe sign some form of non-aggression pact thingy... you know, generally be supportive but not actually be in the alliance. I've only got so many obligations and I'm not having any more.

Ha... but Iuthia has always been against being tied down to alliances... plus I can't say I'll always support nations in conflicts because alot of the time things happen in ways they shouldn't... oh we all meen well but you'd be amazed how many nations meen well...

For example, a well meening nation tried threatening Iuthia with war without realising half his allies trusted Iuthia (not to mention the fact Iuthia is a 2.1 Billion nations)...

So I couldn't join as such... but like I said, I'm interested in being a friend, not an ally.

Hive Fleet Imodius is trying to jump in past my FTL inhibitors fields and refusing to even explain his FTL beyond saying that he can jump to, or into, anything with a gravity field; now I think he's trying to jump one of his larger ships into one of my precious Battleplates to instantly kill it. Joy.

I don't want to, but if he doesn't smarten up I'm going to have no choice but to make him the first person I've ever had to fire an ignore cannon at.

The Temporal Research Institute of Indra Prime is the most advanced Temporal Research and Development ever created. There are weapon systems and defensive technologies we can outfit ships of the Alliance with, so they can fight with the utmost efficiency. If you are interested in use of such technology all we ask is that we have a position in which we can destribute the technology to other nations, and still be able to control our assets. We offer our skills of Intelligence Gathering, and our advanced Reseearch and Development teams. We request either Intel Leader or R&D Leader. We can also provide the manpower of other nations almost as large as Indra Prime herself. We await your response.

Both INS Leader and R&D leader are taken, but you can get a position in either, it would make the people in the departments work a little since they could be replaced.

Youll have to speak to the departmental leaders, the current organization for the departments consists of 'leader' and 'everybody else'.
I personaly do not bother with micromanagement (much), I believ that the leader of R&D is Kurlej and the leader of the Intel department is Comdidia, however, you might want to talk to ThunderStratt, head of Special Weapons.
Kurlej and Comdidia are still active, but TS is somewhat of a ?, so if he is not avalible, you can take over Special Weapons.

What about a compromise? Instead of being located in Intel or Research, we would be interested in commanding the space forces and the Junior Underlord position. If the Commander of the Space Forces was a member of the inner circle and dealt strictly with the Overlord and the Underlord it would prevent any haecity that could occur if the commander was lower in the ranks. Would that be a suitable arrangement with the GDA?
