History adapted to current calendar: The history of Euroslavia is a long, complicated one. The bulk of Euroslavic history coincides with Croatian history. A part of the Roman province of Pannonia, Croatia was settled in the 7th century by Croats, who accepted Christianity in the 9th century. A kingdom from the 10th cent., Croatia conquered surrounding districts, including Dalmatia, which was chronically contested with Venice. Croatia's power reached its peak in the 11th cent., but internecine strife facilitated its conquest in 1091 by King Ladslaus I of Hungary.

In 1102 a pact between his successor and the Croatian tribal chiefs established a personal union of Croatia and Hungary under the Hungarian monarch. Although Croatia remained linked with Hungary for eight centuries, the Croats were sometimes able to choose their rulers independently of Budapest. In personal union with Hungary, Croatia retained its own diet and was governed by a ban, or viceroy. After the battle of Mohacs in 1526 most of Croatia came under Turkish rule. In 1527 the Croatian feudal lords agreed to accept the Hapsburgs as their kings in return for common defense and retention of their privileges. During the following century Croatia served as a Hapsburg outpost in the defense of central Europe from a Turkish onslaught.

After this, though, Euroslavic history becomes separated from Croatia. There were some of the population of Croatia, who wished to join Turkey. Those people were called Euroslavics. These Euroslavics escaped the oppression of the Hapsburgs, and united with Turkey in 1550. At that time, Turkey overran the rest of Croatia, and moved up towards Austria-Hungary. The Euroslavics volunteered to help Turkey defeat Austria-Hungary, and for the most part, they succeeded. But it wasn’t until the early 1700s that the Turkish Empire began to decline.

Throughout the 1700s, invasions knocked the Turks and their Euroslavic allies back to what is now modern Macedonia. Turkey reclaimed some of this land in the late 1780s, but eventually lost it forever. The Euroslavic people were scattered. Their land was taken away from them, and the people of Euroslavia were scattered for 2 decades. It wasn’t until 1806, that the Euroslavic people united in the Balkan region, and formed a nation, which was approved by the Ottoman Empire.

The People’s Republic of Euroslavia enjoyed good relations with the Kingdom of Serbia, but relations with Croatia were ice cold. In 1830, Euroslavia and Croatia declared war upon each other. The People’s Republic prevailed very quickly, and in 1837, Croatia was ceded into Euroslavic territory. Surprisingly, there were no protests within Croatia about joining Euroslavia. The union was established, and the People’s Republic continued to prosper.

In 1850, Serbia and Montenegro agreed to join, and formed a United Slavic, Croat, and Serb nation, which were then renamed to the United Freedom Forces of Euroslavia. In 1868, a civil war devastated the once united nation, and left each lone nation torn apart. Euroslavia, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro each fought for supremacy of the United Republic, and according to statistics, Euroslavia was victorious, but even in victory, millions died. Most of the territory was left for either the Ottoman Empire, or Austria-Hungary to cede; and that’s exactly what happened. Although, the Ottoman Empire was the first to make their move.

Until 1893, all of the said nations were occupied by the Turks. A risen leader among the Euroslavic people, proclaimed himself Emperor of the newly reunited Euroslavic Empire. His name was Emperor Salvador Palatino. At that time, the Kingdom of Slovenia, and the Kingdom of Bosnia and Herzegovina were powerful nations. They fought, together with the risen armies of Euroslavia, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro, to defeat the grand armies of the Ottoman Empire, and finally, in 1905, the United Freedom Forces of Euroslavia was a nation once again, except now, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to join the union. The Empire was once again at its height. During the first World War, The UFFE was neutral, although there were some small clashes with the Bulgarian Empire at their borders; it eventually died down near the end of the war.

In 1928, Macedonia came into negotiations with the UFFE to join the union. The negotiations became very stressful, and many wanted to reject Macedonia from the union, but by 1934, Macedonia became a member. During the second World War, Euroslavia stayed, for the most part, neutral, but gave air space to the Allies, and allowed troops to march through its territory to attack the Axis Powers. At the end of the war, the United States of America granted the UFFE the opportunity to hold a protectorate in Africa, but the current leader, Empress Katherine Bates, denied it, thus, leaving the United States to give it to Denmark. The next fifty years were peaceful and prosperous, even though World War 3-6 occurred, Euroslavia remained neutral.

In the year 1996, the government of Euroslavia changed to become a democracy, due to pressure from the United States. Their government was modeled after the US, and President Roger Lawrence was elected as their first. Each term is for 8 years. In the year 1998, a war scare occurred between nations united under A Corp, and the UFFE. It stayed as a Cold War. But within years, the entire region that Euroslavia became part of declared war on A Corp (nations fighting to destroy the UN) and GCON, a rising power in the world, who also wanted to overthrow the UN. Again, a war never happened. This became known as the Second Cold War. Formal relations opened with GCON soon after, and both regions enjoy warm relations with each other.

In the year, 2003, World War 7 broke out. The UFFE, Nanakaland, SAVX Man, and their allies remained neutral as terrorists lead a revolution within the known world. Thousands died due to a coordination of terrorists against supposed Imperialistic nations, and even nations that did nothing wrong. Another front opened in the war, and UFFE could not remain neutral anymore. Their ally, Dark Terror was being invaded by Feline, and couldn’t just stand by and watch their allies being killed. The UFFE sent over 9 million troops to help defend Dark Terror, and the conflict is still going on to this day. Troops are effectively being pulled out of the conflict at this moment though, for fear of an attack upon Euroslavia, due to heightened terrorist alerts.

Independence: March 4th, 1806
Constitution: [Preamble] Euroslavic history was within Croatia’s until the 16th century.
The millennial national identity of the Euroslavic nation and the continuity of its statehood, confirmed by the course of its entire historical experience in various political forms and by the perpetuation and growth of state-building ideas based on the historical right to full sovereignty of the Euroslavic nation, manifested itself: in the formation of Croatian principalities in the 7th century; in the independent medieval state of Croatia founded in the 9th century; in the Kingdom of Croats established in the 10th century; in the preservation of the subjectivity of the Croatian state in the Croatian-Hungarian personal union; in the autonomous and sovereign decision of the Croatian Parliament of 1527 to elect a king from the Habsburg dynasty (History breaks itself from Croatia)

In the autonomous and sovereign decision for the Euroslavic Government to sign the Unification Pact with the Ottoman Empire. In the decision of the Euroslavic people to fight for the Turks, against the Austrians and the Magyars (Hungarians) to gain back their territory for which they claimed. In 1786, the protectorate of Euroslavia within the Ottoman Empire ceased to exist, until 1806, when the Euroslavic people united to form their own nation, again, under protection of the Turks, although, not considered part of the Ottoman Empire. In 1837, Croatia, after its defeat in the war against Euroslavia, was merged into the Empire and in 1850, Serbia and Montenegro joined. A civil war managed to rip each nation apart in 1868, and the Euroslavic Empire ceased to exist, that is, until the people rose up again, with the aid of Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and formed their own union in 1905. Since then, the UFFE has advanced itself culturally, governmentally, economically, and militarily to become one of the most trusted nations in the world, along with one of its greatest allies, Nanakaland. Much of what the UFFE is today, has been from the influence of its allied nations.

Thanks, and yes you can... the problem with my fact book is that I've put it in the Nation States section, which means people don't look at it much.

May I also suggest that you add paragraphs to your history, it's a huge block of text and it's hard to read...

I'm going to read it anywho... :D

Lt. Col. Williams, Minister of Foreign Affairs, People's Republic of Kay Son

The Junta would like to express admiration of your factbook. The PRK has such a factbook published about our nation, and would like to share it with you. However, the maps are lacking in this factbook, due to the local paint factories being under terrorist activity. Thus, much of the ink that was available had to be hand made thereby making the factbook much more expensive than it originally was.
