Richie Schroeder stood at the corner of the massive shelterbelt, the field glasses pressed to his face as he scans Highway 23. His eyes home in on the white, two-story farm house. He glances back to the twelve men behind him, armed with their brand new XM-8 assault rifles, he then motions for his executive officer to move up. Travis Dehne slides up alongside Richie and the two converse and motion for the rest of the men to move up... They then begin moving along the shelterbelt to the west, towards the farmhouse in singlefile...
Upon reaching a large cluster of Maple trees, the squad sets up in formation and Larry Nygaard pulls up an RPG-7V launcher... He squats next to a dead tree and sets up the aiming reticle, lining up the correct altitude chevron with the target, a small armed outpost from the town of Embden. He clicks off the safety lever and depresses the safety button, he then moves his index finger across the trigger and gently squeezes down until the pressure equals out then he snaps it down and the launcher jolts, exhaust and flame shooting out the back, the grenade squeels out of the barrel and towards the outpost, slamming into a sandbag barricade and exploding, send a cone of destruction into the outpost, killing two men instantly and sending the other four flying.
At that instant, the other eleven men rush towards the farm house... As they near it they clamor up the embankment and then across the pavement of Highway 23, a few small pops are uttered from the XM-8s and the four wounded men are dead. Six of the Chaffee Army soldiers hunker down to defend the position while the rest storm the farmhouse... A minute later and they come out, with two Embden soldiers with their arms raised. They're handcuffed and pushed into the back of a GMC Safari van.
Within minutes, a small Chaffee armor force arrives, with two pickups and a Dodge Caravan outfitted with armor and an M-249. With the force comes four new soldiers. The rest of the soldiers pile into the pickups and the minivan and head towards the main target, the town of Embden. Embden, a small town of about 40 population, used to always be a seperate entity capable of transacting business normally, until its population fell so low and made it a legal 'village' and not a town. The leadership of Chaffee sees this as a chance to assimilate Embden into Chaffee to guarantee that Chaffee does not become a 'village'.
In five minutes, the small convoy crosses the railroad tracks and swerve into Embden and coming to a stop. Eight men pile out and the two pickups make a slow drive down the two streets that is Embden. The citizens come out and wave to the force, unhappy of their village status and gladly accept rule by the Community of Chaffee.
Within time, a Chaffee garrison is set up inside Embden, continually staffed by five soldiers and two Chaffee civilians. Eventually, citizens of Embden will be assimiliated into the CCA (Community of Chaffee Army).
