Announcer: Just an hour ago, President Smith made apparent that Quanda has been on the road to nuclear development for quite some time.
Beginning last month, Smith set aside $50 billion, many more times than that spent on the Manhattan Project, for Quandas own atomic weapon program.
An established nuclear power plant outside of our capital city of Qri is currently producing significant amounts of Weapons Grade Plutonium.

Also in today's nuclear news, The Department of Defense announced that it succesfully created a sustained chain reaction in a research center at an undisclosed location.
The test apparently used Uranium enriched to 90% U-235, though the army adamantly denies any uranium enrichment centers in all of Quanda.
However, Uranium Mining HAS leaped to become Quanda's largest industry, and may be a sign of increasing nuclear activity.

Also, space program affiliation with Quanda seems to indicate that our nation is attempting to develop an ICBM with nuclear capabilites, though President Smith still maintains that the space program, getting under way within the next month, is still just a peaceful program.
