Last week, it was reported that a group of about half a dozen enterprising insurance salesmen travelled from the Fiefdom of Stecks to the neighbouring Empire of Maccers, in order to try and peddle their wares to the natives. However. in Maccers, as all forms of business and/or trade are illegal and strictly enforced prohibition laws entitle the Maccers police to shoot all businessmen on sight, the entire party were gunned down within moments. All but one died within 24 hours from gunshot wounds, the survivor having been saved by a fortuitious kidney transplant (donated by a college student).
Baron Von Stecks has issued the following statement:
'While I respect the Empire has its own laws and traditions, I feel that this incident has highlighted the hazards of unregulated travel between our two countries. This should not discourage people from travelling freely between our two great nations, but I intend to spend time in deep discussion with the Emperor Maccers, in order to implement a better regulated passport control system, in order to prevent this kind of incident occurring in the future. I send my deepest regrets to the families and friends of those involved (but since they were insurance salesmen, they don't have any friends, so just their families.)'
