A Gathering Storm (Wazzu)

An assault shuttle picks its way towards the Wazzu colony, from the heart of the Ardan land. It flies close to the land, perilously close to hills and ridges in the dimness of night. The shuttle makes only token efforts to avoid being noticed, it even buzzes outlying communities when the opportunity presents itself.

From a ship in orbit, one of the Dracons of the Kabal of the Black Fist watches the shuttle, and waits for the inevitable response.

OOC: Oh, common now. At least I TRIED to let Melkor know of my Wazzu Arda RP thread. In fact, we discussed it a couple times.

Do you know how much it stinks to do a search for threads by every Ardan nation on this forum server on a hunch? I was expecting Wretchengard or Melkor to make this thread....

But, theres no help for it now...not that it will matter much.

OOC description of IC: There was no apparant reaction

OOC: The assaut shuttle was picking its way towards the Wazzu colony. That suggests it has not reached it yet. No action will be taken until the shuttle (or anything else) crosses the boarder.

((Just testing your national defensive capables. It's a new stealth-thread.))

Early in the morning, the shuttle crosses the invisible line intelligence placed at the presumed edge of the colony. Moments later, it drops to the ground, and begins shutting down.

OOC: Frickin' dissappearing search functions! That other one was useful! :)

IC:

Somewhere in Wazzu proper, deep underground.

"Sir," reported a young tech, "looks like we have another boarder crossing. Omni-Net shows it sat down just across the Ardan boarder."

"Thoughts?"

"Another contact party sir?"

It seemed to make sense. If you wanted to contact what was ostensibly the enemy, what could you do? March a small, seemingly insignifigant force across the boarder, or perhaps, fly a vehicle over but make damned sure to stop before you tripped off any defenses.

The operations chief sighed. "If thats an envoy, I am NOT responsible if one of them steps on a mine."

"Nosir." The techs unexpected response came quickly.

"Alright, flag it and send it to the local command posthaste."

It took less then a minute for the order to work its way down the chain of command to a standard patrol of Hawk fighters. The subgroup of three immediately took the same course of action as a few others had done before, and moved to intercept the interlooper.

With luck, the crew of this new craft would show at least as much restraint as the orcs, and not fire on their escort further into the colony.

EDIT: Please note, there are no mines within the first 5 miles of the boarder (or for that matter, no mines deployed anywhere at the moment)...but the operations cheif believes there are (or probably are).
