At last, the answer to many nation’s prayers – A system to replace the UN.

The League of Nations has been resurrected from the dust it was ground into when the tyrannical United Nations was formed. Once again it will strive to create a forum for nations to voice there opinions to a group of representatives from around the world. In light of the recent corruption of the United Nations, this new organisation shall welcome any nation into its halls and run a world organisation the way it should be run…

The words of Tea and Coffee Anan, Googlewooper diplomatic representative and co-founder of the New League of Nations this morning as he announced to the world the creation of the organisation.

General Information

For a few months now, my friends and I have been using the forum of a new region, created specifically for this purpose, to house a council of sorts, kind of like a mini UN, to deal with regional issues. This system has worked exceedingly well provided it was used sensibly and has created some very useful debate, theories and ideas about regional politics in general.

So when the UN had its recent troubles and I finally left, a friend behind the alias of ‘Thewheelman’ and I decided to try and recreate a similar region to replace the UN for all who wanted to join.

How to Sign up

The region we created is named ‘The New League of Nations’. It is unfortunately passworded. There are of course a lot of argumentative people out here who would probably love to get in and ruin our fresh attempt at creating a world alliance.

Sign up however is relatively simple. Simply telegram me expressing your interest to join the New League of Nations. I will ask you to right a short piece of writing introducing your main nation to the assembly, talking a little about its politics and government and maybe discussing your views on the United Nations. You may choose to use your main nation to keep in contact with the League but we have found it is annoying moving nations back and forth and suggest you create a ‘rep nation’. If you do, we ask you not to give it an outrageous name as this causes confusion. Please make sure you ‘rep nation’ is recognisable as the representative for you main RPing nation. It is also important to realise that this nations issues, economy etc. are not important as it is only representing your main nation so vacation mode is suggested.

As of yet we have not decided on the rules for posting resolution etc so apart from your initial introduction we ask you not to post in the forum. A protocol will be decided on by the first few members and us soon.

Thank you for considering our proposal and we hope to see you in the League Assembly soon.

Ha the United Nations sounds better than a "league of nations" that name sounds really geeky so stick with the UN. You can only improve the UN so I would say destroy some od the corruption in the UN or plainly just name it.

For you information the League of Nations was a real organisation. It is in escence the granddaddy of the UN.

It was formed after WWI and included USA, France and Britain.

the only reason it ended was because WWII broke out.

No, it ended because it didn't do anything, and as a result of that, WWII broke out. The League of Nations' goal was to prevent WWII, but all they did was piss of Japan, and some other things that utterly failed to do just about anything.

good point.

I would like to point out however that in this case it is a convienient name only and the NEW League will do its job.

And the EU could be the best thing since sliced bread as far as balancing world power is concerned.

Ahem... someone dosent know their history, The Leauge of Nations arround before the UN and Now, it is returning to offer an alternitave the UN. Basing your belifes on a name is a rather shallow thing to do, and how do you suggest we "destroy some of the corruption in the UN"? In future please be less shallow and dont base your decisions on face value.

REPLACE THE UN seems a bit extreme Wheeler. I would like to think it is only offering another choice.

It was formed after WWI and included USA, France and Britain. It never included the USA, as Congress refused to ratify the treaty to join, but it was President Wilson's idea.

And that is what the problem here is I think. Most antions would like to belong to a world organisation to share ideas, alliances, trade etc. Many of those nations are disapointed with the performance of the UN recently. This is esentially about offering another option to balance the power.

Although I admitt, I never expect this to reach the levels of participation the UN has.

Again, good point. Still doesn't change much.
