At 17:00 this evening the great Triton floating shipyard was released from Southport Industrial Dock into the ocean.
The vessel has 3 construction areas, each larger than any dock we have known before it.
The total span from one end to the other the offshore site is 3.5 miles, and stretches down approximatley 15 metres under the sea.
Features include a full length runway, three helipads, 3 construction areas/ docks and living quarters for up to 150,000 workers.
The three full length cranes which span across each construction yard can deliver any peice of equipment to the vessel at a top speed of 7 miles an hour.
So, with no projects the Triton is open to complete custom orders for any nation who can afford it.
