Celebrations have broken out after news that the Whittier Convention on the Laws of War and Treatment of POWs has acheived the necessary 10 nation signatures to go into effect.
The treaty is binding on all signatory and gaurantees that members citizens will be treated humanely and that any soldiers held as POW's will not be mistreated.
Indeed, obedience to the Convention will ensure that conflicts can be ended sooner than they are currently, and on a more amiable basis.
The government is handing free bottles of champagne to celebrate the Conventions ratification and other governments and national leaders have been invited to the celebrations.

The Convention is the fruit of weeks of diplomatic hard labor by the Whittier Foriegn Ministry operating under the blessing of the Secretary General and many revisions were made until it reached its current form.

The Defender of the Only True Faith does not accept this treaty. I reserve my right to first use of WMD's and my right to torture civilians and Pow's alike.

We care not, cause if one of our Soldier becomes a POW, he will indeed have a Great Feast on your Human Imperialistic Flesh, if you are Imperialistic. If not, then he will cooperate. If its a she, then I suppose your screwed then. Anywho....

We retain the right to a "partially self-funding army" untilizing the "pillage then burn" policy.

We also reserve the right to non-lethal (usually psycological) torture.

WMD for M.A.D. (mutually assured destruction)

And other fun things too!

Imperialism:

The policy of extending a nation's authority by territorial acquisition or by the establishment of economic and political hegemony over other nations.

Whats so wrong with that! We both benefite, we make a profit, those we "assist" get to bask in the glory of the massive mega-city we turn their country into where the residence live in hellish conditions with no minimum pay and no safety regulations (all those "hand bars" and "acid vat covers" are not cost effective!)
