The MicroGlup Government views with increasing concern the rising potential for unlawful maritime acts and has, therefore, decided to take the following unilateral actions to ensure the protection of all persons and property travelling in waters under the control of MicroGlup.
1. MicroGlup declares that all waters surrounding it's coastline to a distance not exceeding 1000 nautical miles from its coast are now the direct (and sole) legal responsibility of MicroGlup.
2. The MicroGlup Government has established a fleet of rapid action motor torpedo boats whose sole responsibility will be to patrol within the newly designated MicroGlup National Waters to offer aid and protection to any ships found therein*.
* MicroGlup regrets that as a small, impoverished maritime nation it has no option but to pass on the associated costs of this measure - our charges are, however, very reasonable as are our fees for hospitality in our state hotels where foreign travellers may while away the time until they have paid their bill in full.
