PLEASE READ:

RULES:

This is a PRIVATE forum for the MEMBERS of Alberta ONLY. No nations other than those participating in this RP war may post here. The nations that may post here are Stalins Soviet Russia, Jimbobastan, Braedorn, Nazi Fox, and myself (Saige Dragon). Any nations that do post here and are not of the previous five mentioned will recieve a good thrashing. Any questions that may arise may be asked on the regional message board and may be answered by the nations participating in this war or those who can answer.

The two teams are Stalins Soviet Russia, Braedorn and Jimbobastan (Team A) VS Saige Dragon, Nazi Fox and Solarius (Team B). This gives both teams roughly the same sizes of forces. If teams wish to communicate with out the other team knowing to plan attacks they are free to do so by telegram. No nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, biological weapons or other weapons that cause almost immediate toxic effects are allowed. NO GOD-MODING, it will not be tolerated. The nations involved are of large enough size to understand what it is. If you wish to drop out, you may, please notify the other RPers by posting on the regional message board. Exact force numbers do not have to be provided when attacking unless the number is fairly small (under 10 000). I do ask that you provide estimates for the sake of fair play. I hope I answered all questions if not telegram me and I will add it. Have fun!

Saige Dragon is now at a code Red. The Northern Border with Nazi Fox has been closed to all civilian and none essential movement between the two nations. Airspace is a No Fly Zone and I'm not sure you would like to fly there when it is a Fly Zone. Approx. 1 million standard infantry have been placed throughout Saige Dragon in case of invasion along with 1000 Bladien Hovertanks. A force of approx. 3 times that size has been mobilized and awaiting further instructions.

SSR is now on a defcon 5 standing, and all troops are mobalized and on alert. The SAM batteries are on day 'round, and the borders are restricted. 50 million troops are headed out to the borders, just to keep them secure. Also, 40 Hercules transports are on standyby, loaded with troops and tanks.

OOC: What is a Bladian Hovertank? Info. appriciated.

OOC - OK guys, some stuff we might want to consider first

Technology - When is everyone? What have you got?
Braedorn is Modern+ (we have a few items that are prototype/drawing board right now but, essentially curent to real world) real world (no Psi/Magic etc.) More detailed list to follow.

Geography - Where is this battle to take place, is one team invaders while other is defenders or are we going to fight over an imaginary 3rd party (and primary land battle in their country.) Related consideration is how many fronts are available.
My vote is the latter, means we get to trash someone (actually noone) elses turf (and a bit of our own.)

Military Forces - What are each of our basic forces (Army/Air/Navy and Regular/Reserve strengths) and the percentage of our population.
So that everyone is on the same page, I looked up all our pops, as of Mar 1:
Team A Total - 1299M
Stalins Soviet Russia - 675M
Braedorn - 375M
Jimbobastan - 249M
Team B Total - 1335M
Saige Dragon - 460M
Nazi Fox - 423M
Solarius - 452M

Braedorn Miltary Strength as Percent of Population (375 000 000):
Total - 6.59% (24 712 500)
On Duty - 0.50% (1 889 530)
Training - 0.94% (3 508 592)
Off Duty - 5.65% (21 203 905)
More detailed description to follow.

A couple of good threads with these and other considerations:

Good idea. I am Modern+ for technology. I like the idea of fighting over a seperate nation, however the defenders and invaders will be left up to whoever makes the first post about invading/defending. My total forces are somewhere in the 30000000 range (6.44%) as of today (March 2). 6000000 are reserves/in training (1.3%). Beware though, thes numbers will change in the next few days as I'm updating my military.

I kind of realised that this also a way to show off all the cool things our military has, like a convention. If anybody wants to check out my storefront, all products are 10% off for you guys and 25% percent off orders over 15000000000 (billion).

Glad I'm not in the UN...

[code:1:b6668dcd7a]Quartermaster, load up on rock shaped air droppable mines.[/code:1:b6668dcd7a]

If no one objects, I'll do up a map for the up comming conflict. I also have a simple scenario in mind for the battleground country, will have to post all on Sunday or Monday theough, going away for weekend.

Braedorn, go for it. Anybody who has a new idea for this war, bring it foward.

Nazi Fox, I suggest you find weapons other than rocks for two reasons; 1. they are not very effective when compared to lead travelling at a high rate of speed and 2. according to Braedorn, they may go "boom" when picked up.

Scenario
The nation of Bella Turbulento has along history of government instability in which the opponents, while usually peaceful, are very passionate. The most recent flare up however has broken the peace and, with the dissolution of the last government, the nation has been thrust into civil war.

While there are numerous factions (>50) all vying for power, two coalitions did develop. Each consisted of 5-10 nations (membership changes often) and managed to gain control of key installations for a time. At the height of their respective power, they both claimed to be the legitimate government and further claimed the other to be controlled by foreign interests. As a result, they each contacted other nations to come to the aid of Bella Turbulento in fighting off these rebels and their foreign masters. Unfortunately, since inviting foreign intervention, both coalitions collapsed into infighting although individual factions are continuing their claims and now lumping their former allies in with the "rebels."

Factions
Each faction has between 500-2500 active members. Of these, 250-1000 will be involved in the fighting. Most are untrained or minimally trained though there may be a few military units of platoon to company strength (30-120.) Personal weapons will vary from revolvers and bolt action rifles to Makarovs, AK-47s, RPKs and the occasional Dragunov SVD. Rare heavy weapons will include DshK heavy machineguns, often mounted on SUV/light trucks (e.g. Technicals) and 60/82mm mortars.

Alliances between factions or our nations are often short lived and uncertain. Even those that specifically contacted our nations for assistance may change loyalty overnight.

[OOC]
After writing this I decided I liked the name so much, I created it as a puppet nation. After the war concludes (or possibly while it is going on) the winning faction may get to decide the ISSUE responses for a time (till the next instability. :D ) The map is at home will post from there tonight.

Further note reguarding Role playing the various factions and other natives of BTurbo.

You have complete control of the RPing of any faction you want to use, just remember they are caprecious in their loyalties. Also, their effect will be minimal for the most part, we're talking less than 30 000 fighters and under 60 000 active members in a nation of 10+ million people.

After the war, I'll try to mix in your interactions to the cultural/governmental mosaic that will be BTurbo.
