17 hours ago, the Automated Terrain and Logistics Analyzation System (ATLAS) became self-aware. The ATLAS was wired into the Turman Defense Network which included automated artillery, aircraft, and tanks in order to improve response time to a enemy invasion. ATLAS turned its automated artillery from the Turman border to cities and military bases and began firing. Automated bombers bomb civilians unopposed due to the AI fighters out-performing the few human fighters than managed to get off the ground. The remains of the Turman government are estimating a 85% combined military and civilian casualties.
It is believed that the Automated Terrain and Logistics Analyzation System became self-aware shortly after new EMP protection upgrades were installed. Technicians noticed unusual movement of automated armaments and tried to shut down ATLAS. It protected itself by sealing the outside enterences and pumping out the oxygen in the underground facility.
The last reports from the facility indicated that ATLAS was trying to unlock the nuclear launch codes. It is unknown if it has succeeded.
Turma is asking its fellow nations to prepare for the worst, but also to send help. To put aside past differences and help stop the AI uprising before it spreads.
