Bloody Civil War must come to a stop! Open RP

British Communists
24-02-2004, 20:06
For weeks now, The red forces of The British Communists, and the blue forces of the Capitalist Guerilla Rebels have been openly fighting for control of the country. The sides have been fairly even, but our forces control slightly more land. We are looking for help for one final push, to end the rebellion, and rebuild the shattered country. I currently have a total of 50,000 men fighting on 2 flanks, to try and surround the rebels. You can see this on the map. I want military aid to help me with this push and end the war. Troops, artillery and tanks are needed.
Thank you for your help in our time of need
Republic of British Commnuists

OOC: The red is where we control, the blue where the capitalist rebels control. The white arrows is where the current push is, and where we need more man power. This is an open RP, so you can send aid to us or the rebeles. If somebody wants to take the part of the rebels, thats fine.

The Incorporated States of Talcose urges the British Communists to rethink their domestic policies and seek a peaceful solution with the rebels. The insurgents are fully justified in their anger over your government's oppressive treatment and the near-collapse of your economic infrastructure.

Your people lack even basic necessities such as sufficient clean drinking water, while their leaders live a life of luxury. Meanwhile you leave herds of wild moose to roam unharvested -- moose that could be sold on the open market for great profit. Profit which could pay for sewage treament plants and new shopping malls! Your people look at the wealth of other countries and see the stagnation and mismanagement within their own!

Our Minister of Foreign Affairs has already met in secret with the rebel leaders, and they have expressed an interest in attempting a trial cease-fire. Will you not do the same, and end this senseless bloodshed before it becomes necessary for the international community to take a greater interest than it already has?

We will be watching developments very closely. Meanwhile, the Orange Cross will be airlifting 18,000 tons of relief to the rebels in the form of medical supplies, food, clean water and other necessities.

We will also be sending several small teams of nocombatant observers to advise the rebels during facilitation of the cease-fire.

Sincerely,

We can see where you are coming from, but on occasions you are wrong. Our civil rights are good, citizens are treated well, and certainly have drinking water and food. Unemployment is illegal, so everyone has a job of some description. We are a communist country, most of your suggestions are a reversion to capitalsim, which we are not prepared to undertake. The rebels are terrorists, they have been attacking civilians, and we did give them an ultimatum before the civil war started. We offered them safe passage out of the country if they never came back. They denied it and bombed a Government building, killing 56 and wounding 78 the next day. Trust me, we don't want our country ripped apart by civil war, but we see this as a last resport. Thank you for your concerns
Commissariat Ivanov.

My dear Commissariat Ivanov:

I assure you, you do have problems. If I may direct the honorable ambassador to the following statement about your country, issued by Amnesty International and dated yesterday: "major cities are suffering under water rationing, murder rates are on the rise as the popularity of soylent products grows." Besides, our Minister for Foreign Affairs and his staff have personally viewed the hardships your people are suffering.

We must, under the circumstances, take the stance that your "terrorists" are in fact honest, concerned citizens fighting for their right to live their lives as they see fit. Yes, everyone has a job of some description, but many of the rebels have told us that they were assigned unfulfilling and often dangerous work, usually having little to do with their skills. As for your ultimatum, they did not wish to abandon what they regard as their beloved homeland, shackled by your administration's reprehensible autocratic abuse.

If you truly do not wish to see your country racked by civil war, reconsider now and agree to a cease-fire. Failing that, we feel that we have no other choice than to resort to aid above and beyond that of the Orange Cross. President Phelps has directed our Third and Fifth Battlegroups to your region in case of such regrettable developments.

Sincerely,

Tristan Bonschallot

The Democratic Party of Vexia anticipates a Civil War within our country shortly, so aiding the Capitalists in this war will give us good practice in supressing Communist Rebels.
Right now, however, we can only give Medical and Food supplies. Our Cargo Planes will airdrop most of the supplies, but we are willing to provide armoured humvees and trucks to provide more accurate and careful delivery of supplies to the areas that most need it.

Firstly, your nation does not appear to even be enrolled in the UN, Ambassador.

Secondly, Talcose is not a UN member and does not recognize its authority in this matter.

Third, please review the past messages more thoroughly -- Talcose has not switched sides; we have never supported the RBC. However, we still support a cease fire initiative. We are extremely concerned with the stated policies of the RBC, and are willing to take steps to aid the insurgents against their corrupt, unhealthy and unstable government.

Fourth, the "war mode", as you put, it was initiated by the RBC, not Talcose.

:!: I believe there can be a better solution to this problem. The nation should be split into two completely different nations. We could solve all our problems that way. There is no need for bloodshed between brothers at all over any debate, large or small. If the great powers involved in this conflict truly wish to avoid war, this is the best solution, not military advisors. Give peace a chance and let love rule.

I must agree with Ambassador Dylaunche on this. If peace is trully the outcome wanted, there should be talks and a split of land, not a coming of numerous powers. This conflict could lead to much more then a simple civil war. With the investments of outside nations this situation, as we know, could easily become rather messy. If need be, the offer stands that my nation will serve as a neutral state for the parties to come an negotiate.

In light of recent events, Talcose has redirected its Third Battle Group back to Talcose waters, and halted air deployment of marines. However, the Fifth Battle Group will remain on course and should arrive just outside RBC waters in 7 hours. This fleet includes two helicopter assault carriers and an amphibious assault vessel, which shall pick up our advisement teams and transport any rebel refugees who wish passage. The fleet is also under orders to observe evacuation and ensure that rebels are indeed allowed to leave peacefully.

We will be happy to extend asylum to any rebels who wish to come to Talcose, where they will be free to pursue their own prosperity without undue control by a corrupt and misguided socialist regime. Once evacuation has concluded, our forces shall withdraw.

Aboard the JMS Devestator...

Admiral Thankin, we just received this intellegence report from Defense in Yuengling...

The admiral takes the report from the young ensign, and reads...

"EAM 10424 - TO JMS DEVASTATOR - JMS EXECUTIONER - JMS DESTROYER

I.A.J. HAS RECEIVED INTELLEGNCE SHOWING THE DRACUN FLEET MOVING TWORDS THE TALCOSE FLEET. THE TALCOSE FLEET HAS REFUGEE REBLES ON BOARD. WE BELIEVE THE DRACUNS HAVE ORDERS TO KILL ALL ON BOARD. YOU MUST REVERSE CORSE< AND LEND SUPPORT TO THE TALCOSE FLEET."

the admiral, with an unhappy look on his face, mumbles...

What do they expect of us.. we are the only three ships in the fleet. We have 3 ships, minimal crews... we can't go against the Dracun imperium, and what support could we give to Talcose...

-- What are our orders, Sir? says the young ensign

Reverse course, let's find the Talcose fleet, see what we can do... Reluctantly, the admiral obeys the command from the Capital

Captain Sylvester gazed around at his bridge crew. As usual, Lt. Elwiess was the first to voice an opinion.
"Who the f*** do they think they are?!"
There was a murmer of agreement from the rest of the crew. Sylvester ignored it.
"Sound battle stations and circle the wagons. Then gimme the admiral," he said, quietly.

* * * * *

"They're ^what?!^" shouted an exasperated President Phelps, almost choking on his morning coffee.
"Threatening to attack, sir," repeated his attache, tactfully passing a napkin to his boss.
"There must be some mistake," said Phelps. "The Dracun Imperium? Are they insane? We must outnumber them three to one in ships alone!"
Ambassador Bonschallot stirred, fidgeting nervously with his teacup. "Perhaps true in a general sense, Mister President," he said, "but as you may recall, you ordered the main battle group back. They're threatening our amphibious assault fleet -- it's no match for two main line carriers and a pack of subs."
"Yeah, but are they nuts?!" repeated the president. "Don't those idiots realize what we'll do to them if they fire on us?"
"With only a light carrier and a half dozen frigates?" put in Admiral Chan of the Joint Chiefs. "Not a lot."
"Shut up, Gavin. This isn't about a commie civil war anymore, gentlemen. You put the whole gawddam Navy on alert NOW. I want five carriers down there YESTERDAY!"
"But what do I tell Admiral Ekhart?" asked Chan. "Do they have a green light to defend themselves?"
Phelps stared at him levelly.
"You tell him to do what he has to do. And if those punks so much as SCRATCH one of my ships, in two days they're gonna be looking in the gutter for their TEETH!"
He took another slurp of coffee. "Now gimme the Dracs on the green phone," he added.

Hail to the British Communist, if you wish we can help you anyway we can. We do however condem the act that Dracun imperium is going to kill the rebels. The founders of Communisim were rebels. We must have some respect for them for speaking for what they believe in. Also for this reason we deploy the 2nd Red Fleet Battle Group to protect Talcose ships.
The following are deployed.

2 Mercy Class Hospital Ship's
3 Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier's
150 F-18's
3 Tidal class Battleship's
1 Virginia - class CGN
3 Arleigh Burke guided missile AEGIS Destroyer's
5 Iowa Class Battleship's
15 Shotgun Class Cruise Missile Submarine's
10 Silencer Class Submarine (Heavily Modified Ohio)
1 Emory S. Land Class Submarine Tender's
1 Blue Ridge Class Amphibious Command Ship's
OOC: If my ships are fired upon by Dracun imperium, I will declair war and you will have hell to pay. I do not want to b/c i like to stay at peace.

OOC: Dracun imperium, no offense, but you cant have a navy that size. If you do you would have a small army of maybe 1000 and a ariforce of less. You have to remember that if all those ships were manned and if you had all the forces you have your economy woudl be all F--ked up.
No offense I am not here to be an ass on newer nations b/c I realize I was a new nation at one time.
Talcose
27-02-2004, 00:30
OOC:

Thank you, Communist Louisiana for pointing out the fleet size issue. I was just going to point out myself that the Dracun Imperium has a mediocre economy and a population of 88 million. If they would care to note my stats, my nation is an economic monster and is three times the size of the DI -- they face at best very heavy losses if they take on Talcose in open war. (Of course, if that's what they want, that's OK with us -- although as we told them in a private communication, we'd much rather sell them blue jeans.)

That aside, I would just like to ask where all the extra DI ships came from. Last I read, they had deployed 2 carriers, a battleship and 4 subs to the area. Talcose would never have recalled its primary battle group if the DI had 50 ships in the area. I don't dispute that the DI can have a total navy of that size, but they were not declared to be deployed in this conflict, nor were they declared to be under way -- it takes ships time to get from here to there, and the DI isn't even in the same region as the RBC.

FYI: The Talcose Fifth Battle Group consists of 10 ships:

TCN Lazlo, "Lazlo" class light aircraft carrier
(42 VTOL aircraft)
TCN Nelson, "Nelson" class helicopter assault carrier
(28 helicopters, 400 marines, 500 refugees)
TCN Millard, "Nelson" class helicopter assault carrier
(28 helicopters, 200 marines, 900 refugees)
TCN Truncheon, "Truncheon" class amphibious assault ship
(200 marines, 1100 refugees)
TCN Aristophanes, "Aristotle" class guided missile frigate
TCN Pythagoras, "Aristotle" class guided missile frigate
Destroyers: DD2, DD3, DD17, DD23

Since the Republic of British Communists started this thread, I ask them to judge in this matter -- can the DI have 50 ships in the area, or do they only have the 7 previously stated? (Mind you, two main line carriers can pretty much take out my entire fleet all by themselves, even without the submarines).

Good grief! Remind me not to mess with you, Louisiana!

BTW, now that I reread the DI posts more closely, I see that they said the rest of their fleet was arriving soon, not actually in the area now. Sorry.

So as far as I can see, the current DI deployment still consists of 2 carriers, 1 battleship and 4 subs. Is that right? Still plenty to blow my poor little refugee-heavy ships to little bits in any case...

President Phelps slammed the phone down, upsetting his coffee for the third time this morning.
"He hung up on me," he fumed as his aides hurried to move papers out of the way of the spreading pool.
"We have reports coming in that the Jagermeistria task force is turning about and coming to our aid," said Admiral Chan, looking up from his laptop. "A battleship and a couple of frigates, it looks like."
"That's awfully nice of them, but I don't give very good odds against two DI carriers and four subs," said Vice Admiral Loveless, shaking his head.
"Communist Louisiana has just issued an ultimatum to the Dracs, also," added Ambassador Bonschallot. "Apparently they're appalled at such open aggression against a fleet full of refugees. They're mobilizing their entire navy."
"Huh." Phelps stared at the wall. "I gotta admit I'm not crazy about accepting help from commies, but any port in a storm, I guess. I mean, I don't see why the DI came in on the side of the British Communists in the first place -- always thought we were on the same page with them. What's the situation with the fleet?"
Admiral Chan referred to his laptop again. "Ekhart is sitting tight. He's getting some Harriers into the air, but they'll be shredding if the Dracs actually hit them with regular fighters. He has his screening ships looking for enemy submarines."
Phelps sighed. "Okay, new plan. How many long-range bombers do we have ready?"
"Wait! We've just gotten in a flash from Ekhart. The DI fleet is giving way and heading home!"
"Well, that's one helluva relief. Send Jagermeistria and Communist Louisiana a thank-you note and a fruit basket and let's get those boats home!"
