Roycelandia needs a Multipurpose Tank

The Imperial Defence Bureau has noticed that Roycelandia's Combat Tanks fall into Two Categories:

The Emperor Class Tank

Armed with a 120mm main gun, enough armour to stop a hit from same, and no less than 6 MGs, a battery of Rocket Launchers, and even a flamethrower, it's impressive, but a bit big and unweildy for smaller operations.

The Wildebeest Scout Tank

Carrying a 30mm main gun, 2 MGs, a small amount of armour, the Wildebeest is fast but not much use against anything larger than an Armoured Car.

Accordingly, the Imperial Defence Bureau has decided to commission a new, Mulitpurpose Tank for our Colonial Defence Forces in Roycelandian East Africa.

We could make it ourselves, but our Military Budget has a huge surplus this year and we figured that we could help out someone's Industry and improve our Balance of Trade whilst we're at it...

There are, however, some catches...

1. The design must have a WWII feel and look to it, but utilise the latest modern technology and parts.

2. The Main Gun must not be less than 50mm calibre

3. There must be at least three MGs, all of .303 British Calibre. One is to be coaxial, the other mounted with the driver, and the third on top of the Turret for the Commander.

4. It must hold a crew of at least 4

5. It must have a maximum top speed of no less than 80km/h

6. It must be tracked, rather than wheeled

7. The armour must be capable of withstanding a direct hit from an 88mm Anti-Tank Gun

8. It must be capable of running on both Diesel and Fuel Cells, to extend operation range and efficiency.

9. It must be capable of mounting wide and varied range of accessories and/or extra equipment

10. The Minimum Operation Range must be at least 700kms

11. It must have an impressive name, preferably African, e.g. Rhino, Leopard, Tiger, etc.

The Imperial Defence Bureau will consider all tenders and then make a decision once a satisfactory tender has been received... just post them here and the Ordnance Selections Committee will decide if further testing might be necessary...
