NBC News: Senate Rules the Pope Invalid

After a long senate discussion, it was decided by a vote of 499 - 1, that the Pope has no power in the Austar Union.

"Why should the future of our citizens be decided by the apparent governing of one man," said Senator Andrews, "Its an absolutly rediculous idea, that this man could have some kind of authority in our citizens lives. Why, he's rather like the United Nations. Always influencing without conslidating. If God wants to affect our lives, then God himsel can do it. Not some old man who thinks he is fit to do the job."

The Austar Union group: Catholic Commission delivered a message to the senate,

"Whilst we do believe in some ideas that are not popular, shouldnt it be unconstitutional to rule against the religious ideals of citizens. Surely it is our right to follow the divine through the Pope? I call this act a blatent invasion of civil rights, and I know who I am not supporting next elections!"

The Senate has refused to respond. The Republic of Austar Union is a christian nation, however the majority do not believe in the Pope himself.

Smart move. In my opinon, Religion Corrups and retards the mind in almost all political issues.

"We would like to enquire as to the scope of the Senate's Act. It is obvious that the authority to the Vatican does undermine the sovereignty of a nation. However, you cannot intervene in an indivdual's right to follow his or her faith."

The evidence is quite overwhelming. The Shildonian Pope Spotting Agency has collated a wide array of photographic evidence of a Pope-like being prowling the Vatican, as well as intercepted transmissions that many believe to be from the Pope himself.
In fact, a plan is in process to locate and if possible capture a viable specimen of Pope in order that his existence may be scientifically proven once and for all.

In response to the Rotovian Question, Senator Andrews has opened up a Q & A session with a media conference.

"I can justify this Senatorial Act, because of recent occurences in the Austar Union. There have been some incidences for our governmental and agency members, catholics, who have been instructed by the Pope and his body of council to do certain things which have impacted on Austarian Interests.

There have been calls amongst our population to pass such an act."
