Out in the Pacific Ocean somewhere near the equator a small group of islands was recently discovered and recognized by the UN.
Inhabitants include many native people but also has a fairly large population of Highly Educated individuals both of which have lived on the islands for many centuries. The Islands are currently ruled by three friendly Nations, whom trade freely and provide mutual assistance in war, although they haven't had the need in at least a century. Their individual militarys at this time are used primarily to protect the masses, except in the Nation of Armusorelse, where gun laws are minimal and the masses police themselves.
The Nation of Armusorelse enjoys a lot of freedom from government intervention and the streets are fairly peaceful due to the fact that over 90% of all adults have a fire arm and have been trained in the school system how to use them. In this Nation, if you break a law you're more likely to be shot by a citizen rather than caught by the police and ajudicated.
The Free Land of Droolers has always been one step ahead of the others because of it's IT professionals leading the way in computerized technologies. Because of it's advances many Medical Proceedures have become automated and completely painless. One such advancement includes a Cancer Treatment which involves Nano-Bots which seek and destroy the Cancer cells leaving normal healthy tissue intact. The risk factor has been decreased dramatically.
High a top of the peaks of the largest islands, in the Republic of Navatolis, a rare, nearly extinct animal was found. After much research and observation it was accepted that this animal could only be the direct decendent of the now extinct Dracosaur. This animal was called a Dragon. Having a Golden Skin and fairly pleasant disposition, the Dragons were domesticated in order to aid in the preservation of the species. After centuries of Dragons becoming the companions to the population, it was found that they had many defensive properties and some were trained to be part of the military. Their natural defences include a complete covering of strong scales and a strange ability to breath fire.
Due to the joint venture in Uranium Mining from Armusorelse and the Computer Technologies of Droolers, the Region of Dawghouse Bay has an extensive Space Exploration program which has already been successful at sending one team of astronaughts to the moon and many probes to Mars, a small but efficient space station already orbits the earth and will be a launching platform for an expedition to Mars. The Region is very excited about reaching Mars and placing a space station there.
