After the failed attempt to grab Madagascar as our own, we have decided to try another country. At this very moment Argyllian forces are piling onto the shores of Gabon on the west coast of Africa. The 1st Carrier Battle Group is providing air cover as the 1st Marine Brigade storms onto the beaches and over powers the defenders. the landings took place around the port of Libreville, resistance is minimal and total control of the islands is expected in the next week or so.

Argyllian forces now control mopst parts of the country, all major towns have fallen and the Gabon armed forces are being disbanded. The evil old government has been overthrown and a new one put in place.

Argyllian military forces in the country have now set up secure bases and set up road checkponts to search for resistance fighters. Forces number around 40,000 on land and 30,000 a sea.

The Empire of Imperial Guardsmen does not condem this move by Argyllia although we do suggest that you do not accept the Serbian Terrorists offer.
21-02-2004, 16:56
We are merely trying to help.
Argyllia
21-02-2004, 20:49
We do not need help in controlling the local population, in fact they are welcoming our troops. Therefore we reject your offer, Gabon will now be officially annexed into a Argyllian colony. A new armed forces will be raised and industry developed to create new jobs.
..............

The new armed forces being raised at the moment are:

The Gabon Light Infantry Regiment- 3 battalions of 800 men each
1st Gabon Fighter Squadron- 12 surplus F-16D multi-role fighters
..............

The cargo ship MV Halin docked at the capital of Gabon with its cargo of food and medical stores, this will help the situation in the country as it recovers from the war. In other news the Argyllian government pledged £12 billion to the upgrading of Gabon's transport system, water mains, national grid and medical system.

As long as you do not continue in my 1st and 2nd divisons land this is an acceptable move...

(ooc:Lusaka would gladly commit a few million troops to kicking you out, but we're already..commiting troops to Gabon to kick out other imperialists, so I suppose I shall just have to consider this a different Gabon. Ah well.. carry on (damn you!) Still, Gabon does have about five Mirage and at least a faint chance of sinking a ship or breaking up a landing with them)

OOC- Try and keep it sensible, a few million troops!

Argyllian troops began to establish defensive positions along the coast of Gabon. The 2 battle groups off shore began to go to high alert and F-35's mounted CAP's over the fleet, a 200mile exclusion zone is declared around the coast of Gabon any vessel entering this zone will be regarded as hostile if they have not been checked out successfully.

Just don' invade me.... 3rd and 4th Army divisons on their way to the Cameroon border...
Argyllia
22-02-2004, 09:39
OOC- I will accept the recon teams but anything bigger I would be able to pick up on radar and intercept.

The 3rd Armoured rolled out of Libreville and started down the new road to Makokou. In other news the Gabon Light Infantry has began excersises to get them up to full operational status. Technical problems plague the F-16's and the Squadrons training falls behind the timetable.

23-02-2004, 20:16
OOC- Lets get this sorted out, firstly lets have a little more role-play i.e what planes you have, approach my position, then I respond, then you respond and so on. Also I haven't fired at the ships yet and I would like to know how many there are. As well can you both put a full run down of your forces as I have done so we know what we are facin and then inform everyone when you are reinforcing.
