"hmm, looks like someones trying to deny us our right to freedom of travel on the highseas" remarked Commodore Adams, the commander of the Shildonian carrier group centered around the PRSS Pogey. He picked up his phone and dialled the bridge, "Helm, this is Adams. Set a course through the middle of the Deshdenstadtian Sea Territory. Make sure to remain in international waters."
"Aye sir, plotting course now. We arrive in 25 hours" replied the Helmsman

OOC-There are no international waters in the middle of the DST, it's all mine! Mine I say! MUAHAHAHAHA! *cough* Ha.

The Carrier Battle Force, centered around the DNS Deshdenstadt SuperCarrier, sat in the waters escorting the tankers that travelled to and from the huge oil rigs. The carrier was well escorted, with 10 Orca Destroyers, 8 Kraken Frigates, and 6 Archer Missile Ships, as well as 4 Silence class Submarines. A patrol group, a UMF-92 UCAV and ERF-91 ELINT/DEEPSTRIKE fighter, began it's return route, with vital information transmitting via their laser commlinks-pictures of a sudden course change by a Shildonian battle group.

The Concrete Subs, or CSubs, lurked on the bottoms of the seas, using their Concrete-ArmorCeramic hulls to skim thousands of meters under the surface. Vertical launched Supercavitating torpedoes sat in their racks, as the topsearch LADAR/LIDAR looked for any intruders. Deshdenstadt was committed to it's oil.

You can claim up to a maximum of 12 miles from your coast. After that is international waters.

As long as your routes are 130 miles or more away from my coasts, you're fine.

Official statement from the Shildonian Government, for immediate release
The People's Republic has no interest in stealing anyones oil. If certain primitive people's wish to go to the trouble of digging fuel out of the ground then that is their look out.
Denial of international waters on the other hand, does interest us. For that reason the Pogey and her escorts are to pass through the so-called "Deshdenstadtian Sea Territory" to ensure that the high seas remain accessible to all nations.

Then Shildonia orders their sailors to their deaths. The MDD will not tolerate invasion, and has ordered the DST Defense Group to intercept and destroy any foreign naval vessel entering the DST. This includes a MegaCarrier Battle Fleet, and numerous missile bases and airfields are standing by to defend our territory. If a nation wishes to travel through these rarely used waters, they may apply for a permit.

"Underling! Put the 2nd and 3rd Skothian Fleets on full alert! I cannot abide some Nation trying to simply 'Annex' the oceans like this. Crossroads Inc is one of the largest Naval powers in this area and I intend to remind this nation of Deshdenstadt of that!" Slams down the papers, glaring at the Employee, the Underling fidgeting...

"What is it? Out with it Employee!!!

*whispers into the Lord CEOS ear.*

"Really? How old is he?" *more whispering* "Hes how big?"

*pauses*

That's right. Except this isn't your territory. You have the exclusive economic rights to whatever oil you find up to 200 miles from your coast. However you cannot ban vessels from entering these areas.

What makes water different from land? What makes any territory anyones? And what's the harm in blocking waters that had and will only be used by our tankers. If anyone wants to use them, they can apply for a permit.

It is the principle of the matter. If this stretch of water is as unused as you say then there really is no need to deny other the use of it.

Transmission From The Foreign Commissary

"Your action to deny free passage through international waters is of grave concern, especially in the light of recent actions by many newly formed governments, however until hostile action is taken this provocative announcement will be ignored due to the pressing nature of matters closer to home"

OOC:Read that how you will but anything that happens in international waters be it close to home or as far away as possible is still of prime importance.

Because our allies have experienced problems with their oil rigs being attacked, it is better to be safe than sorry.
