My region and I are preparing to construct a new Super Battleship, we would like other opinion and help in this matter. It is planned to be very large and to carry lots of firepower and air defense systems. It will take awhile to build, but I think it will be worth it.

The ship is going to be based on the old Iowa Class designs. The completed project won't look like the exact Iowa Class but you will be able to tell the differances in size and firepower.

The United Pimps of America has just begun builing an orbital weapon too. Since this is a new region we can give each other input also. We are also building a space shuttle which will make building it easier so we can help in any way necessary.

I would like to see my Battleship as having 25 inch or larger deck cannons, I would not go any bigger than that however. There is going to be 4 sets of 3 guns each for sure, and several smaller 8 inch guns to accomodate them.

Technologically wise, its going to be the most advanced ship in the fleet. With all new Radar and Sonar units, improved fire control units also.

It will be equipped with an advanced air defense system currently under development. Armour will also be thicker than normal around the C&C centers and other important parts of the ship.

How many are you looking for and are you trying to mass produce them?

Right now I'm planning on just building one for the time being, after it has been out to sea for a few months pending trials, I will consider putting them into limited production of a few ships.

You do realize that in order to fit nine 25" guns you would have to make the ship bigger than a Nimitz? That's an incredibly large target for bombers and top attack missiles, and if there's one weak spot on a battleship, it's the deck. Displacement would be in the 100,000+ range and speed would be ~25knots, which is too slow to be a serious threat in any war away from home.

Yes, I do realize that it would have to be huge. I'm not stupid. The Super ship would not be in a group on its own. It would have several smaller Destroyers and Frigates to provide point defense along with submarines to patrol underwater. It would be a part of major fleet operations if needed. If there is a will there is a way!

Why do you want a battleship anyway?
They're main use is for destroying other battleships, and other large warships. But with fighter and bombers flying around, the battleship has almost no place, and even if it did it would require a substantial amount of air and missile defences.
An aircraft carrier is a far more effective ship. I reccomend you purchase a Hell Class Supremacy Carrier (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=129665).
