Shangia announced today it has developed a new class of destroyers. They are the first destroyers developed by Shangia.
The new Megaladon class of Destroyer was named after a prehistoric shark of mammoth proportions (size of a humpback whale) that had a ravenous apetite.
The destroyer features three levels of armor instead of the conventional 2.
It is mounted with 5 62 caliber machine guns/antiair/antiship gun batteries.
It is uses the Shangian made tyuk missile which goes with the tyuk guided missile system.
Further, the design includes decoys that act similar to chaff and other antimissile mechanism on board aircraft except that the Gorf Antitorpedoe Baiting system is aimed at torpedoes. The torpedoes follow the bait which lure them away from the destroyer.
The Megaladon is designed as an antisub system. With its advanced sonar it can spot a sub up to 5 miles aways. Though the sonar itself is being upgraded.
